When a God of Destruction Was Reincarnated in Tensura:

Chapter 97: Counter Attack

Rimuru Arrives with Veldora

Rimuru appeared beside Veldora in the containment zone. The massive dragon stood triumphant over the battered remnants of Charybdis, his booming laughter echoing through the clearing.

"Hahaha! Did you see that, Rimuru?! I, the mighty Veldora, have once again proven why I am the most powerful being in existence!"

Rimuru crossed his arms and gave his best deadpan expression.

"Yeah, yeah, you're amazing, Veldora. Now, let's finish this up before your boasting destroys my eardrums."

Veldora grinned smugly, puffing out his chest. "I knew you'd be impressed! So, what do we do with this beast?"

Rimuru glanced at the weakened Charybdis, its enormous body twitching but unable to recover.

"Raphael, should we absorb it?"

Raphael's calm voice answered.

"Affirmative. Absorbing Charybdis will allow me to analyze its unique properties. This is will help Master grow stronger."

Without hesitation, Rimuru activated Predator. Black tendrils of energy extended from his body and enveloped Charybdis, consuming it in a matter of seconds.

"Absorption complete. Commencing analysis," Raphael reported.

Rimuru nodded. "Good. Let's head back to Tempest."

Veldora laughed again. "Ah, returning as victorious heroes! I love it! Shall we make a dramatic entrance?"

Rimuru rolled his eyes. "Just try not to scare everyone."

The Meeting of Generals

Back in Tempest, Rimuru gathered his key commanders in the war room. The tension in the air was palpable as everyone awaited his words. Rimuru looked around, his eyes meeting each of his generals'.

"First, let me say this: you've all done an incredible job. The Falmuth army has been routed, Charybdis is no longer a threat, and our defenses held strong. I'm proud of each and every one of you."

The room filled with murmurs of gratitude and pride, but Rimuru raised his hand to silence them.

"But this isn't over. Not yet. Our enemies are still out there—Clayman, Carrion, and Frey have their armies stationed just outside our borders, waiting for the right moment to strike."

Benimaru's eyes narrowed. "They're hoping we'll lower our guard after dealing with Falmuth and Charybdis. Cowards."

Rimuru nodded. "Exactly. They think they can catch us while we're weakened. But they underestimated us. While they're preparing their attack, we'll hit them first—with everything we've got."

Shion slammed her fist on the table, her eyes blazing with excitement. "A counterattack! Let's crush them before they even realize what's happening!"

Diablo leaned forward, a sinister smile on his face. "Oh, my lord, how delightful. Shall we teach them the true meaning of despair?"

Rimuru raised an eyebrow. "As long as you don't go overboard, Diablo."

Souei stepped out of the shadows, his voice calm but firm. "I'll ensure our infiltration teams are in place to cut off their escape routes and gather intelligence."

Hakuro stroked his beard thoughtfully. "This will be a decisive blow. A surprise attack, combined with overwhelming force, will ensure they never recover."

The Plan

Rimuru laid out the plan.

Diablo would lead his elite unit on a direct assault against Clayman's forces, creating chaos and drawing their attention.

Benimaru would lead a massive flanking maneuver to encircle Carrion's forces.

Shion and Madox would handle Frey's airborne troops, supported by Gabiru's dragon knights.

Souei and his shadow corps would infiltrate enemy lines, assassinate key leaders, and disrupt communication.

Rimuru would personally confront Clayman, Carrion, and Frey to end the threat once and for all.

The remaining forces, led by Rigurd, Hakuro, and Geld, would stay behind to guard Tempest and tend to the wounded.

The Retreating Falmuth Army

Meanwhile, the remnants of the Falmuth army stumbled through the forest, battered and demoralized.

"This is insane," one soldier muttered. "They wiped out 20,000 of us like it was nothing."

A knight spat on the ground, his face pale. "I told them not to underestimate the monsters. These ....these monsters are not normal."

Their commander, barely holding onto his composure, barked orders. "Keep moving! We need to regroup with Clayman's forces. They'll protect us."

But deep down, even he wasn't sure if Clayman could save them.

Clayman, Carrion, and Frey

At their camp, Clayman sat in his lavish tent, sipping wine. He smirked as he addressed Carrion and Frey.

"Everything is going according to plan. Falmuth and Charybdis have softened Tempest. Now we just need to wait for the right moment to strike." Little did they know, Falmuth remaining soldiers that escaped won't even make it to them.

Carrion crossed his arms, his expression skeptical. "Are you sure about that? Rimuru's forces are stronger than we anticipated."

Frey nodded, her eyes sharp. "And what if he counters? He's proven to be unpredictable."

What they don't know is that, the crystal ball they are using to watch the fight was rigged, Raphael had used an illusion spell on it to show a different outcome of the battle and they fell for it.

Clayman waved dismissively. "Relax. Even if he counters, we have the numbers. Besides, I've already prepared contingenc...."

Right before Clayman finished talking,

Diablo's unit struck first, unleashing a devastating magical barrage that tore through Clayman's camp.

Clayman stumbled out of his tent, his wine spilling. "What the—?! How did they find us?!"

Diablo appeared before him, his golden eyes glowing. "Ah, Lord Clayman, it seems your time has run out, but you will be handled by Lord Rimuru.

Benimaru and Shion's Assault

On the battlefield, Benimaru's flames engulfed Carrion's troops, forcing them into disarray. Shion, laughing wildly, cleaved through Frey's soldiers with ease.

Carrion roared. "Damn it! They've outmaneuvered us!"

Frey's eyes widened as her airborne troops were decimated by Madox and Gabiru. "How did they prepare this so quickly?!"

As the battlefield descended into chaos, Rimuru confronted the three demon lords. His calm demeanor only fueled their frustration.

"Clayman, Carrion, Frey. You've made a grave mistake."

Clayman sneered. "Do you really think you can take all three of us?"

Rimuru smiled coldly. "Watch me."

What followed was a battle of epic proportions, with Rimuru showcasing his overwhelming power and strategic brilliance.
