Chapter 114: Finally!! Some Relaxation Time
After the fight, Rimuru invited them to Tempest, With Hinata still unconscious, Rimuru effortlessly carried her in a princess carry, walking ahead of the Ten Great Saints and Luminous Valentine. The knights who followed were silent, their minds still reeling from everything they had witnessed.
Holy Knight Arnaud (whispering): "I can't believe we've been worshiping a demon lord this entire time... What else has been a lie?"
Holy Knight Leonard: "Forget that—look at him! He's carrying Commander Hinata like she is his wife!"
As they entered Tempest, the knights froze in their tracks. They had expected a dark, gloomy place filled with terrifying monsters. Instead, they were greeted by a bustling city filled with beautifully paved streets, colorful buildings, and friendly citizens, both human and monster.
Holy Knight Rina: "This… This is Tempest?!"
The streets were lined with shops, food stalls, and laughter. Monsters and humans worked together seamlessly, creating an atmosphere that was lively and welcoming. Even the air seemed fresher.
Luminous (smiling faintly): "Rimuru, I'll admit… this is impressive. You've built something truly remarkable here."
Rimuru (grinning): "Thanks, Luminous. I'm pretty proud of it. Tempest is a place where everyone can live in peace, no matter who—or what—they are."
As they walked through the city, Hinata stirred in Rimuru's arms, her eyes fluttering open. Realizing her situation, her face turned a deep shade of red.
Hinata (flustered): "W-What are you doing?! Put me down!"
Rimuru (teasing): "Oh, you're awake. Good. But you were knocked out, so I figured carrying you was the quickest way. Unless… you want me to keep holding you?"
Hinata quickly averted her gaze, her face as red as a tomato.
Hinata: "Just… Just put me down already!"
Rimuru set her down gently, but his smirk made her even more flustered.
Exploring Tempest
As the group continued their tour, they passed a Japanese restaurant, and Hinata couldn't help but stop and stare. The smell of the food wafting from inside made her stomach growl faintly.
Rimuru (noticing her reaction): "Ah, I see you've got good taste. You miss Japanese food, don't you?"
Hinata (trying to act composed): "I-It's not that… I was just curious…"
Rimuru (chuckling): "Don't worry about it. I'll make sure you get to try some. You'll love it."
Hinata's blush deepened, and she mumbled a quiet, "Thank you."
The Meeting
In Tempest's grand meeting room, Rimuru, Hinata, Luminous, and the Ten Great Saints gathered to discuss the recent events. The room was elegantly designed, with comfortable seating and a calm atmosphere.
Shuna and a few maids served tea and snacks, bowing politely before leaving the room. The saints hesitated to touch anything, still uneasy about being in the territory of a demon lord.
Luminous (to the Ten Great Saints): "Let's address the obvious. Yes, I am a demon lord. But that does not change who I am or what I stand for. I have protected the Holy Empire for centuries, and I will continue to do so. The choice is yours: remain in my service, or step down. I will not force you either way."
The saints exchanged nervous glances.
Holy Knight Leonard: "We… We swore to serve you, Lady Luminous. That hasn't changed."
Holy Knight Arnaud: "Agreed. You've always protected us. We'll continue to follow you."
Two knights, however, stepped forward and bowed deeply.
Holy Knight Fritz: "Lady Luminous, with all due respect, we wish to retire. This is… too much for us."
Luminous (nodding): "Very well. You've served me faithfully, and you deserve peace."
The meeting continued with Hinata finally gathering the courage to step forward. She stood and bowed deeply to Rimuru, her voice trembling slightly.
Hinata: "I… I want to apologize. I let myself be manipulated and caused harm to you and your people. I humbly ask for your forgiveness."
The Ten Great Saints were stunned. Their proud, fearless leader bowing so humbly was something they never thought they'd see.
Rimuru (smiling): "Of course, I forgive you. We all make mistakes, right? What's important is that we move forward and learn from our mistakes."
Hinata looked up at him, her face softening with relief.
Dinner Party
That evening, Rimuru hosted a grand feast in honor of their guests. The dining hall was filled with laughter, music, and the delicious aroma of food.
Hinata sat quietly at first, but when she tasted her first bite of takoyaki, her eyes lit up like stars.
Hinata (murmuring): "This… This tastes just like home…"
Rimuru (watching her): "Glad you like it. I thought you'd appreciate a taste of Japan."
Hinata blushed again but didn't stop eating.
Meanwhile, Luminous and Rimuru were seated together, trading witty remarks.
Luminous (smirking): "You're surprisingly charming for a slime. I can see why so many people are drawn to you."
Rimuru (grinning): "And you're surprisingly beautiful for a vampire."
The knights and generals mingled, sharing stories and drinks. Shion laughed loudly as she arm-wrestled one of the knights, while Benimaru impressed everyone with his strategic insights.
The Bath
After the feast, Rimuru invited the group to try Tempest's Japanese-style bathhouse.
Rimuru: "Trust me, it's the most relaxing thing you'll ever experience. You've had a rough day—you've earned it."
Hinata hesitated, especially when she realized Rimuru would also be joining.
Hinata (nervously): "I… I think I'll pass—"
Rimuru: "Come on, don't be shy. You've got nothing to be embarrassed about. You've got a beautiful body you know."
Hinata's face turned bright red, and before she could protest further, Luminous grabbed her arm and pulled her along.
Luminous (teasing): "Don't be such a prude, Hinata. Let's go."
In the bath, the atmosphere was relaxed and peaceful.
Shion (grinning): "You know, Hinata, you're surprisingly cute when you're flustered."
Hinata (hiding her face): "I-I'm not flustered!"
Luminous (to Rimuru): "You've done well, Rimuru. Tempest is… special."
Rimuru (smiling): "Thanks. I just want a place where everyone can be happy."
The next morning, Luminous and her group prepared to leave. Rimuru saw them off, smiling warmly at Hinata.
Rimuru: "Before you go, I want you to know I've got a surprise for you soon, Hinata."
Hinata (confused): "A surprise? What kind of surprise?"
Rimuru (grinning): "You'll see. Just be patient."
With that, the group departed, leaving behind the memory of a strange yet unforgettable visit to Tempest.
As Rimuru watched them go, he couldn't help but chuckle.
Rimuru (to himself): "Guess it's time to visit the Holy Empire soon. Things are about to get interesting."
