Chapter 281: Chapter 281: Changing the World
Chapter 281: Changing the World
____
Boom!
With the collapse of the cave imminent and the last remnants of support from the super creatures gone, the structure began to crumble. Aoki, without hesitation, appeared in the sky in an instant.
"From now on, 'Space Shuttle' can retire!" he declared confidently.
Compared to "space travel," the advantages of the space-time field were overwhelming.
First, it was far more stable and less prone to interference. The constant threat of teleportation abilities being sealed was now a thing of the past.
This also brought another significant benefit: the ability to forcibly alter a target's space-time state became much easier.
Second, within the domain's coverage area, teleportation was no longer bound by the limitations of vision and could be performed at will.
Third, the space-time field allowed for the creation of space-time marks for ultra-long-distance transmissions. These marks were more concealed, easier to distinguish, and capable of tagging living beings.
Finally, the space-time field wasn't limited to teleportation alone. It encompassed a wide array of space-related abilities, such as spatial confinement, and even time-related powers.
In every sense, the space-time field was a superior replacement for "space shuttle." The only slight advantage of "space shuttle" was its lack of an "unfolding" process.
Aoki silently ran calculations in his mind.
The Float-Float Fruit, the Thunder Fruit, the space-time domain, the control of natural forces, domineering, dragon breath, ultimate form, transparent world, and soul shock—he now possessed an overwhelming arsenal of abilities. The challenge lay in devising a suitable combat system to maximize the synergy and power of these skills.
"This is the kind of trouble you enjoy," Aoki muttered with a wry smile.
He looked down at the aftermath. The cave had completely collapsed, the ground had sunk, and a massive crater now scarred the island's surface.
This was merely the visible change. The true impact was far greater—the island's magical power had completely vanished, leaving it an ordinary landmass.
"Time to leave," Aoki thought, and his figure vanished.
---
Kurome sat on the bed, happily savoring a lollipop. Her small, pale feet dangled off the edge of the bed. Invisible waves spread through the room, and light and shadow intertwined, quickly forming Aoki's figure.
Kurome's eyes sparkled with excitement. She waved and said, "Aoki, you're back! Did everything go well?"
Aoki nodded. "The next step is to wait for Akame and Esdeath to wake up… Well, no, there's one more thing to take care of."
With a flip of his hand, a thumb-sized seed emitting a faint green light appeared.
The Seed of Nature.
Although his recent tasks had kept him busy, Aoki had taken some time to study it. His findings were limited, but he deduced that this seed could be utilized in another dimension.
"Let's head to another space. I'll show you a magic trick," Aoki said, glancing at Kurome.
"Magic?" Kurome tilted her head, her expression puzzled.
Aoki didn't elaborate. Instead, he pulled Kurome into the alternate dimension.
Suspended in the air, they observed the floating golden box, the central building, and the other scattered objects. Aoki prepared everything meticulously before snapping his fingers.
The Seed of Nature floated out of his hand, hovering about a meter above the ground. It spun slowly, its green glow intensifying with each passing second.
Moments later, a tiny green sprout emerged from the seed.
It required no water or nutrients. As soon as the sprout appeared, it grew rapidly, transforming into a towering tree in the blink of an eye.
But this was only the beginning.
Massive, dragon-like roots extended from the base of the tree, spreading across the dimension. The roots stretched outward, covering the entire space before detaching and transforming into land.
More plants emerged from the soil, sprouting, growing, withering, decaying, and regenerating at an astonishing speed.
It was like watching a simulation game where the flow of time had been accelerated by tens of millions of times, causing the world to evolve and change at a breathtaking pace.
After about an hour, the transformations finally ceased.
Aoki and Kurome sat perched on a branch of the central tree, gazing at the transformed landscape.
This massive tree was the mother tree of the area. As long as it remained standing, any damage to the surrounding environment would eventually recover. However, if the mother tree were to fall, the entire area would collapse instantly.
Beneath them stretched a verdant jungle, teeming with flowers and weeds of all kinds.
A small river wound its way through the jungle, flowing into a flat grassland where it pooled into a serene lake before continuing its journey out of the area.
Above them, the dense canopy of the mother tree spread like a giant umbrella. Round, luminous fruits hung from its branches, emitting a soft, warm light that illuminated the entire alien space, akin to miniature suns.
Kurome blinked her wide black-and-white eyes, her expression filled with wonder.
"Is this a miracle?" she whispered.
Aoki remained silent, equally stunned.
The Seed of Nature had exceeded all his expectations.
In the blink of an eye, it had transformed the space entirely. This wasn't just power—it was creation itself.
And yet, Aoki realized the Seed of Nature hadn't fully unleashed its potential.
The alien space was simply too small. If the area were larger, the seed's transformative power could extend several times further.
Recovering from his awe, Aoki began to attune himself to the space.
He could feel the natural forces here resonating with him, their presence stronger and more intimate than ever before. Both his ability to control natural forces and the blessings they granted were significantly enhanced.
Moreover, there were two unexpected surprises.
The area created by the Seed of Nature wasn't merely placed within the alien space—it had fused with it on a fundamental level. The two powers were now inseparable, blending seamlessly.
This fusion brought two major benefits.
First, the dual control of the alien space and the natural area greatly amplified Aoki's command over the space. When combined with the space-time field, his combat effectiveness within this dimension would reach an unparalleled level.
Second, the stability of the alien space was dramatically improved.
"In the future, if I encounter someone I can't defeat, I could simply drag them into this dimension," Aoki mused.
He paused, considering another possibility.
"I wonder if I could directly draw power from this space. If so, it would be like having an immensely powerful movement buff."
As Aoki contemplated, his expression suddenly shifted, and he turned toward a nearby building.
"Double happiness!" he exclaimed.
Kurome tilted her head in confusion.
Without explaining, Aoki waved his hand, and the building descended gently onto a flat patch of grass. Then, he and Kurome flew over to investigate.
Inside one of the rooms were two beds, each occupied by a woman—one with black hair, the other with blue.
As Aoki and Kurome entered, the black-haired woman slowly opened her eyes.
"Sister!" Kurome cried out in delight.
"Kurome… Aoki?" Akame sat up, pressing a hand to her forehead.
Aoki approached her and asked, "How are you feeling?"
Akame's gaze was unfocused for a moment before clarity returned, and she recalled the events that had transpired.
"I feel… strange," she admitted, clenching her fists as she assessed her condition.
"My strength has increased significantly, and my body feels freer, less constrained. On top of that, I think I've gained a new ability."
"Has your Blood Demon Art awakened?" Aoki inquired. "What kind of ability is it?"
Akame didn't respond immediately. She closed her eyes, her expression contemplative.
After a few moments of silence, blood-red lines began to appear across her body. Complex, crimson runes formed in her pupils, and her entire demeanor shifted, taking on an eerie, otherworldly quality.
