The Streamer From Another Dimension

Chapter 8

Chapter 8 – A True Broadcast Legend (2)

—–CROW—–

“First of all, since it was my first time using the Cube, I was quite lacking.”

If I were just playing games for fun, it wouldn’t be a big deal, but since I had to broadcast, it *was* a problem.

“So, I’m asking for help from my viewers.”

– ?

– What are you talking about?

– Right, you said it was your first time using a Cube.

– Someone who’s never used a Cube before does a Blood Emperor playthrough?  Boom boom.

– Not a legend, a legead.

“Um, I’m sorry. What’s a ‘legead’?”

– Oops…

– Bungeoppang-dan, hands off your keyboards.

– It’s okay not to know.

–  It’s from when Luna-nim misread LEGEND as LEGEAD.

– It became a meme after that.

“Ah, Luna-nim…”

I saw that name on Sprout Wiki earlier.  She was a former member of the Avalon Crew, right?

Since I was new to Switch, there were still a lot of inside jokes I didn’t understand.

[‘That Person’s Result’ donated 1,000 won!]

– (Switch clip)

“You’re supposed to erase weapon enhancements here?”

“But why does it work for me?”

“Oh, right, I’ve never enhanced weapons because it’s too much of a hassle.”

“I can’t believe it myself.  Ehehe.”

“Ah, Poka-nim’s broadcast was also a legead in a different sense.  Thank you for the 1,000 won donation!”

– Lol.

– That ajumma laugh at the end, lol.

– Demon King-nim, please maintain your dignity.

– Ehehe, what the heck, lol.

[‘Oh La La’ donated 1,000 won!]

– (Switch clip)

“Thank you, OhLaLa-nim, for the donation.”

The clip this time was also from PokaButterChip-nim.

But unlike before, it was a video of her silently fighting the second boss in Blood Emperor.

Since it was a pacifist run, the player’s magic power was incredibly low.

So, I assumed she’d fought like I did and watched the video.

“No way… Wait, what?”

–  A true oh la la.

–  She can do that with that little magic power?

– That efficiency is real?

– She’s playing a different game.

– It’s not like it’s the first time Poka-nim has done something like this, but it’s still amazing every time.

From the beginning to the end of the video, she didn’t move a single step. Nor did she actively use her weapons.

She only attacked from a distance using magic and blocked incoming attacks.  She even deflected unparryable attacks by altering their trajectory with magic.

“She’s from a different world.”

– She’s not called Demon King for nothing.

–  If I met her as an enemy in a game, I’d run.

–  Maybe in Eternal War, but in Legend of Mir, you’ve already lost.

–  Can you even get matched with her in Legend of Mir?

–  Poka is a Challenger in Legend of Mir.

[‘Found Another Route’ donated 1,000 won!]

– (Switch clip)

“I’m supposed to accept it? But I already pressed it!”

“You should have told me sooner!”

“What is this? Is it supposed to be like this?”

“Huh? Is there another route for this too?”

“Thank you for the 1,000 won donation.  Huh? There’s another route for the choice where you don’t receive the martial arts? Wow, what even *is* Blood Emperor?”

– Meow meow.

– Why is it such a god game?

– How did the developer hold back from talking about this for months?

–  Will you try the other Blood Emperor routes?

–  This game is crazy, lol.

–  But that route is so hard that the streamer eventually gave up.

– That route is too much.  No saves at all.

“No saves at all? Wow, that’s brutal.  And I don’t think I’ll play Blood Emperor anymore.  The Heavenly Demon ending will probably be the only Blood Emperor I know.”

– So close.

– Heavenly Demon can’t be helped.

–  All hail.

–  All hail, what the heck, lol.

The conversation had naturally drifted due to the clips. I needed to get back on track.

“Anyway, I’m prepared for broadcasts like this. The problem is, I’m completely hopeless when it comes to using the Cube, and I want to fix that.”

– Right, you have to set up your broadcast environment for Cube separately.

–  That’s going to cost a bit.

–  It’s good to invest to some extent.

“Money? You mean I need to buy a better Cube?”

– You have to buy programs for broadcasting and convenience.

–  They have everything.

–  You know how other streamers have different things on their screens compared to yours? That kind of stuff.

“Ah, you mean buying those programs? I was wondering about that.  Other streamers have their faces in the bottom right corner even during Cube games.”

– Ah, that.

–  There are a few programs, but most people use Lucid.

– StyleOn is good too.

–  StyleOn is a bit more expensive.

“Lucid? Ah, is this it?”

When you connected the Cube to the computer, you could install programs on the Cube through the computer.

I started searching for the programs the viewers mentioned by accessing the Cube Store.

“It imports the Cube’s basic model and displays it with your current facial expressions in real-time?”

– Correct.

– It’s good for first-person games because you can see the streamer’s expressions.

–  StyleOn has some additional features.

–  There’s also ChangeStyleOn.

– Ah, no dignity.

–  You probably won’t need ChangeStyleOn, WhiteStar-nim.

“What’s ChangeStyleOn?”

– It creates 3D characters like anime characters.

–  It’s not commonly used in internet broadcasting.

–  It’s used for game events or anime events.

–  It’s a bit otaku.

“But wouldn’t it be okay if you didn’t want to reveal your face? I don’t mind, but there are people who do.”

– If you’re not doing cam streams, you can just change the model.

–  You can modify the Cube’s basic model.

–  Unless you want to use a cartoonish model, it’s not really used.

“Ah, I see…”

It was certainly different from my original world.  In this world, you could easily change your appearance if you weren’t doing cam streams.

“Then, StyleOn seems more interesting with its various features, so should I buy that? Wow, it’s expensive. Will I have enough money?”

I’d spent most of my money on the top-of-the-line Cube, so this was a bit of a stretch.

And this wasn’t the only thing I needed to buy, was it?

–  She’s looking for a donation opportunity.

–  Lol.

–  She’s asking for our wallets after we helped her with the settings.

“Ah, that’s not it! I can’t even receive donations yet because it’s not the payout period.  I’m just short on cash right now. I don’t even have a credit card yet…”

– How about small payments through your phone bill?

–  Ah, right.

–  She should have just postponed it to next month.

– But why are you broke?

“Ah, small payments!  The wisdom of the crowd is truly great… I spent all my money on the Cube, so I’m a bit short on cash right now.”

[‘TrueTurtle’ donated 5,000 won!]

– P-please accept!

“No, no! I really wasn’t fishing for donations!”

– Lol.

–  So good.

– The sight of her being showered with money is beautiful.

– What are you guys doing? Hurry up and donate to the Goddess.

–  Guys, the leader wants donations.

–  All hail!

“I really wasn’t… Anyway, thank you so much, TrueTurtle-nim, for the 5,000 won donation.”

After that, I received a series of small donations, which made me sweat a bit.

“Wow, it’s been a while since I was flustered by donations.”

After that, the conversation shifted back to broadcast settings.  Most of it was about finding solutions to the problems from yesterday’s broadcast.

“Huh? So, I can talk during cutscenes?”

–  It’s originally in the free program, but it’s also included in StyleOn.

–  It works if you just install StyleOn.

–  It was frustrating seeing you unable to talk during cutscenes.

–  By the way, have you decided on a bot?

–  But that’s part of the charm of newbie broadcasts.

“Ah, right. I need to choose a bot.”

The bot they were talking about was a kind of assistant that managed the chat room during Switch broadcasts.  It would ban users based on pre-set rules and provide commands to enhance viewer convenience.

I found that there were two bots commonly used by streamers: “Quickie” and “Tia.”

Their basic functions were similar, and they shared the same commands.

However, the direction of their additional features differed significantly.

– Quickie is better for now.

–  But in the long run, Tia is better.

–  Yanbyeol-nim will become a big streamer soon, so Quickie is fine.

–  Tia in a 3-year-old channel is so human-like, it’s scary.

Quickie shared an AI mechanism for banning users and deleting chats, so it was fast and accurate based on the settings.

However, Tia’s initial mechanism was at a basic macro level.

Instead, it was an AI that learned independently for each channel, so over time, it managed the chat as smoothly as a human moderator.

“Oh, come on, it’ll be a while before I become a big streamer.  Yesterday’s broadcast was just a lucky break.”

– Even without that, there’s something about your broadcasts.

– I’ve watched a lot of newbie streams, and Yanbyeol-nim will definitely make it big.

– Ah, right, she seems experienced.  Not like a newbie.

–  Agreed, there’s something like that.

–  Yeah, and the sound is good too.

“Thank you for the compliments.  Since I’m editing the videos myself, I’m thinking about getting Tia because I’m hesitant to hire a manager.”

–  Tia is good as a manager substitute.

– But with Tia, you have to manually ban people and stuff at first until it learns.

–  It varies, but many people hire a manager at first.

–  Were you an editor before?

“That might be a good idea. I’ll consider it.  Then, I’ll try Tia first and switch to Quickie if it doesn’t work out.”

– Okay okay.

– Okay.

–  Finally getting a bot.

–  It was quite inconvenient yesterday.

“To add a bot…”

I read the instructions and added Tia bot to my channel.

Right after that, I noticed a message in my Switch inbox.

“What? It’s from SnowFlowerMoonFlower-nim.”

[I saw you started broadcasting, so I’m contacting you. If it’s not too much trouble, are you available for a call right now? I have something to tell you, and something to explain. Oh, my Cube ID is spring1024.]

“Oh, I got a call request from SnowFlower-nim.  Is it okay if I connect?”

– It’s fine.

– Why are you even asking?

–  You’re not doing anything right now, lol.

–  Why are you pretending to be a newbie only at times like this?

–  You’re usually so experienced.

I thought it was right to ask since I was talking to my viewers…

I opened CubeTalk, added her ID, and called her.  Ah, I had to set it so the call could be heard on the broadcast.

“Huh? Hello? WhiteStar-nim?”

“Hello, SnowFlowerMoonFlower-nim. Are you still broadcasting?”

“Yes, I am. Hey, you guys, why ‘oh la la’ as soon as WhiteStar-nim appears?”

Her voice suddenly changed.

It was the same voice I’d heard in the clip earlier. I decided to tease her a little.

“Um… Who is this?”

– Who is this, lol.

–  SnowFlower-nim’s voice changes so quickly.

–  SnowFlower and MoonFlower…

–  A split personality streamer, lol.

“It’s me! It’s really me.”

“I’m just kidding. Ah, I was really surprised when I visited your broadcast earlier.  It was quite intense.”

“Ah, my broadcast isn’t usually like that. It was just a little spicy earlier.”

– ????

– Look at her lying.

–  Her broadcast is *always* like that.

–  You’d faint if you saw her CubeOn thumbnails.

– Lol.

–  It’s almost like super spicy fire noodles.

“SnowFlower-nim, there’s an overwhelming amount of testimony here saying otherwise.”

“Could you tell me your nicknames? You’re all banned.”

“Hahaha.”

– Look at her personality.

–  Smooth move.

–  This is oppression.

–  Why are we being oppressed in another streamer’s channel?!

–  Lol.

“Ah, right.  Anyway, as I said before, I’m not like that. Okay? My broadcast is calm and cute.”

“Yes, I understand. I’ll visit sometimes.  Oh, thank you, ‘MoonFlower’sHotToes’-nim, for the follow.”

“Hey! What are *you* doing here?!”

– Lol.

–  Credibility plummeting.

–  That nickname, lol.

–  I have to visit that channel later, that’s hilarious.

–  HotToes-nim, lol.

“Honestly, it’s entertaining, even if it’s a bit intense.”

“Ah, I completely ruined my first impression.”

There was a hint of laughter in SnowFlower-nim’s voice as she said that.

So, I could easily tell she was mostly joking.

“Right, I have something to tell you.”

“Something to tell me?”

“Poka-unnie asked me to tell you something.”

Poka-nim?  Poka-nim had something to tell me? We’d never even met.
