The Plot Twist

Chapter 3: chapter 2

Jasmine stepped out of her small room and tried to find the kitchen. After wandering through the long corridors for a while, she finally found it. The kitchen was bustling with activity—several cooks were busy preparing an elaborate breakfast. There were dishes of Indian food like parathas and dosas alongside Western options like pancakes and scrambled eggs. Seeing all this food made Jasmine's stomach grumble, but she knew she couldn't have any of it. She was just a servant here.

As the Rajput family gathered at the breakfast table, Jasmine watched them from a distance. They were seated at a long, elegant table, their conversation lively and filled with laughter. There were the three brothers, all handsome and well-dressed, along with their parents and grandparents. They looked every bit the perfect, happy family.

The eldest brother, with his serious demeanor, sat at the head of the table, calmly giving instructions to the staff. The second brother was more relaxed, joking with their parents and making everyone laugh. The youngest, with a mischievous grin, was busy on his phone but still engaged with the conversation.

Jasmine stood quietly, observing them. It was surreal to see characters she had read about in real life. She felt like an outsider, not just because she was a servant, but because she knew things about their future that they didn't.

The family finished breakfast and left the table, leaving behind a flurry of servants to clean up. Jasmine sighed. So far, she had no clue which fiancée was the villain. She needed to figure it out before it was too late.

By evening, the mansion was transformed for the big event—the grandparents' anniversary party. The ballroom glittered with decorations, and the guests arrived in stunning designer outfits. It was also the night when the Rajputs would announce the engagements of their grandchildren.

Jasmine's stomach rumbled as she watched the guests enjoying the lavish spread of food. Everything looked so delicious, but she couldn't have any. Dressed in her simple maid's uniform, she felt invisible among the elegantly dressed crowd. She longed to taste the food, to be part of the celebration, but she knew her place.

Instead, she focused on observing the fiancées of the three brothers, trying to spot any signs of who might be the villain. Each woman looked perfect, smiling and mingling with the guests. Jasmine couldn't find any clues. It was frustrating.

The music played, and the guests began dancing. Jasmine noticed that everyone was busy enjoying the party, no one paying any attention to her. She saw the perfect opportunity. When no one was looking, she slipped into the corner where the appetizers were laid out and grabbed a piece of food.

She took a bite, savoring the taste. "Oh, this is so good," she mumbled to herself, feeling like she was in heaven. But her bliss was interrupted by a sudden voice behind her.

"What are you doing, miss?" a deep, authoritative voice asked.

Jasmine froze, her heart pounding. She turned around slowly, her eyes widening in shock as she faced one of the brothers. His eyes were narrowed, his expression stern.

Caught red-handed, Jasmine's mind raced. How was she going to explain this?
