Chapter 21: Chapter 21 Boyfriend
Chloe's gaze seemed to sweep over Lily for a moment before she nodded and turned to leave.
"Who is that person? She has such a strong presence," Lily couldn't help but ask, seemingly forgetting that she had just been calling Jaxon a pervert moments ago.
"Chloe, she's also a student at Goldenleaf University," Jaxon said.
"What's your relationship with her?" Lily asked, her face full of curiosity.
"Nothing much," Jaxon replied.
In reality, the two of them indeed had no significant relationship; this was only their second time speaking to each other.
However, Lily clearly didn't believe him. No relationship? Would a beauty like her take the initiative to greet someone if there was no connection? No relationship? How would she know that Jaxon hadn't gone to exercise?
Seeing Lily's curious expression, Jaxon said, "We really don't have any relationship. Let's go, we need to hurry up and register."
With that, Jaxon turned and started walking, and Lily quickly followed, saying, "You could just tell me, I'm really curious."
In fact, Lily wasn't the only one curious about the relationship between Jaxon and Chloe. A beauty of Chloe's caliber was bound to be the focus of attention wherever she went, and as a result, Chloe's popularity at Goldenleaf University was not low.
Previously, people had never seen Chloe take the initiative to interact with any male student, and she had never been friendly to her suitors. Many had thought that perhaps Chloe didn't like men, otherwise, why would she be so aloof and heartless?
However, what had just happened clearly changed everyone's minds. It turned out that Chloe wasn't incapable of interacting with men; she just didn't want to interact with them.
In that instant, the hearts of many male students at Goldenleaf University were shattered, and their gazes towards Jaxon were filled with hostility, the kind of look one gives to a rival, especially when they saw that Jaxon had another girl, whose beauty was on par with Chloe's, following him. They wished they could kill Jaxon with their eyes.
Amidst these gazes, Jaxon completed Lily's registration for school.
"Let's go, I'll take you to your dormitory," Jaxon said.
Goldenleaf University arranges a dormitory for every new student at the time of registration. Whether or not to stay there is up to the student; the university doesn't prohibit students from renting places outside.
So, Lily also had her own dormitory.
"Why go to the dormitory? I can't stay there," Lily's previously curious expression disappeared instantly, replaced by a look of dejection and discontent.
"Actually, you could stay in the dormitory," Jaxon thought for a moment and said, "I think it's better for new students to stay in the dormitory more often and interact with classmates and roommates."
"I agree, that's what I think too!" Lily said, "But my parents insisted that I stay with my aunt."
"How about this, you can stay in the dormitory most of the time and just come back occasionally. Your aunt doesn't come often, and as long as I don't say anything, she won't know," Jaxon suggested.
"Really?" Lily looked at Jaxon with delight, "You're really that nice?"
"If you don't believe me, then just come and stay with me," Jaxon said.
"I believe you, I believe you," Lily quickly said, "It's settled then!"
Lily was naturally very happy about not having to live with Jaxon and escaping her aunt's "supervision." Moreover, she had never lived on campus before and was quite curious and eager to experience it.
"Alright, let's go, I'll take you to your dormitory," Jaxon said.
In fact, Jaxon had his own reasons for doing this.
He had to teleport every day, which was his secret and couldn't be known by others. Although Lily wouldn't casually enter his room, Jaxon was still worried about the possibility. If his secret were to leak, it might bring him trouble.
Another point was that Lily clearly guarded herself against him. If they really had to live together, seeing each other every day would be quite annoying for Jaxon.
So, it was better for Lily to live on campus.
Lily's mood visibly improved a lot, and she wasn't as "hostile" towards Jaxon as before, her face always wearing a smile, which increased her attractiveness even more.
Naturally, Jaxon, walking beside her, had to endure even more hostile gazes.
This was Jaxon's first time entering the girls' dormitory building. He was a bit curious but didn't dare to look around. However, there were quite a few new students in the building, and many parents had come to help today, so Jaxon didn't stand out too much.
After taking Lily to her dormitory, Jaxon took his leave. Lily casually waved her hand, indicating that she understood. Jaxon didn't mind and turned to leave.
"Feifei, aren't you going to see your boyfriend off?" one of Lily's roommates teased.
"Boyfriend? Who?" Lily was confused for a moment before realizing they were talking about Jaxon. She quickly explained, "He's not my boyfriend, just a friend. No, we're not even friends."
The two had only known each other for less than two days, so they indeed weren't even friends yet.
"Not friends, but he came to see you off? And you didn't object?"
"Exactly, I saw at the registration desk that he was holding your hand. Don't be shy, we're all college students now. It's normal to have a boyfriend."
"But your boyfriend doesn't seem that great. From what I can see, his clothes look like they're from a flea market. Only those shoes seem to be something special."
Lily's roommates clearly didn't believe her words. Especially the last one, a girl named Wang Wenting, who was determined that Jaxon was Lily's boyfriend while also belittling him. It was obvious that she was trying to imply that Lily's taste wasn't that good.
Wang Wenting was quite pretty and knew how to present herself well. With her looks, she could be considered a beauty outside. However, compared to Lily, she clearly didn't measure up, which made Wang Wenting, who was used to receiving attention and praise, very uncomfortable. Thus, her tone was somewhat sarcastic and condescending towards Lily's "boyfriend."
Wang Wenting's words made Lily frown slightly, and she felt displeased. Although Jaxon wasn't her boyfriend, he had taken the trouble to see her off, and she could tell that Wang Wenting was being hostile towards her. This was clearly aimed at her.
So, Lily's tone cooled down a bit: "He really isn't my boyfriend. We're just acquaintances. Believe it or not is up to you."
With that, Lily ignored the reactions of the others and went to tidy up her bed.
