Chapter 5: CHAPTER 5 { GATHERING ALLIES}
I then texted Ava to meet at our spot “Hey what’s up” she asked. I went straight to the point “Ava, I need your help,” I told her explaining the situation.
Ava’s eyes widened “Those pills are wicked! I’m in”
“I knew you’d be able to help because it seems her accomplice is a witch, so to cancel a witch we need another witch”
“Now that you mentioned she’s involved with a witch, Sage, I…don’t know if I can help” Ava said her voice measured.
Why was Ava looking scared, for a moment her eyes flicked, I saw something like fear. Because I’m a werewolf my senses are really strong so I can sense people’s feelings and I sensed fear
“Ava, is there someone your scared of?” I asked my best friend
She quickly nodded her head quickly “No, of course not”
“Yeah of course I was just thinking that I shouldn’t really be involved in a werewolf and witch matter, I could turn out bad a war would break out”
“I would never let that happen, so please help me” I told Ava
“Okay but we need a secret hideout, hidden from your aunt’s prying eyes” Ava explained and I nodded agreeing with her
Ava grinned mischievously. “I know just the place.”
We met up with Alpha Elias, and the tree of us set out to explore the abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town. We walked in as Ava’s spells illuminated the dimly lit place, revealing a perfect hideout.
“This is it” I exclaimed
“Our headquarters”
Elias nodded. “We’ll need to gather allies, other werewolves who’ll help us”
“Leave that to me” Elias smiled
“You and Ava focus on getting the systems online and getting this place clean , I’ll be back soon” Elias instructed
I nodded, but as Elias turned to leave, I hurried after him
“Elias, wait!” I called out
He turned his eyes questioning
“Thank you,” I said sincerely.
“For doing all this.”
His expression softened
“I’m doing this for you, Sage,” he said his voice low
Our gazes met, and I felt an undeniable spark. His eyes seemed to hold a deeper meaning, his pupils dilating and my heart skipped a beat.
“I don’t know why,” Elias continued, “but my wolf… it’s like he’s calling out to you.”
My pulse quickened. If only you knew Elias I feel the say like my wolf is calling out to you but it’s like I can’t really feel it all like something’s blocking it.
“Maybe we’re mates or something” I said as I chuckled nervously
“Maybe,” his blue eyes darkened almost like he was restraining his wolf from coming out, he walked towards me, our lips almost touched, but Elias pulled back, clearing his throat. I wanted our lips to touch so bad.
“I’ll be back soon” he repeated and I watched him leave in his car, my head reeling with thoughts.
I went back to the warehouse, as I approached Ava “Sage, you okay?” Ava asked a knowing glint in her eye.
I couldn’t tell her about the moment between Elias at least not now. I nodded, still lost in the moment.
Ava smiled “I think Elias might be more invested in something or someone not just the mate agency,” she teased me and I blushed.
Soon enough Elias was back and he wasn’t alone, I reached out to my childhood friend Liam, he is a skilled hacker and teach expert though he lived in the human world most of his life but once I explained the situation to him he can here as fast as he could. Next Elias contacted a few of his trusted pack members including his secretary.
“Sage, Ava, this is Ryder, my secretary,” Elias introduced
I smiled warmly “It’s nice to finally meet you in person” I told him and he nodded in agreement
“This Liam, my childhood friend, he’s a skilled hacker so he’s here to help us out” I told Ryder and Elias as they shook hands with him.
“Welcome everyone we’re glad to have you on board.” And everyone nodded in agreement
Elias’s gaze swept across the room, his eyes lingering on the makeshift setup.
“Impressive Blackwood” Elias said
“Ava why don’t you show Ryder around” I suggested, Ava obliged.
“I brought Ryder to help with the administrative tasks, and he’s also efficient and discreet” Elias explained
“Also remember my friend Jason from the other night he’s going to be helping out also, he’s the Alpha of the Water tribe pack they’re known for their healing capabilities , he has agreeded to lend us one healer in-case we need any medical help” Elias continued
“Thank you, Elias. We need all the help we can get.”
As our team grew, so did our resources. Jason was going to be here with the healer in two days time. We scavenged for supplies, setting up a lab for Ava’s spellcasting and a high tech command centre for Lim’s hacking.
A week passed, it wasn't easy but the Mate Agency was ready to take on it first client. Jason came here from time to time to provide any help needed the same for Elias because they were both Alpha’s they still had other duties to attend to at their packs. We need werewolves desperate to find their mates, yet wary of the agency’s existence.
“We need to spread the word discreetly” Liam said
I nodded “Elias and Jason will reach out to neighboring packs, quietly.”
“I can create a coded message, hidden in online forums and social media.” I said
Liam grinned. “leave that to me. I’ll hack into the right channels.”
As our plan unfolded, I felt a sense of pride and purpose and it was all because of the people around me, my friends. The mate agency was becoming a beacon of hope for werewolves not just for those seeking their mates, now they had people protecting them, their happiness and we wouldn’t stop till we’ve put an end to the clutches of evil.
I knew my mum and Dad would be so proud of me, of how far I’ve come to protect our people and to bring balance to out world. That reminds me I have to reach out to my dada he doesn’t know what his sister has evil plans for our world but most importantly, when this is all over I promise to find out who killed you. I had moved on from my mom’s death with the help of my friends I was stronger and not weak and that’s how I’m going to bring balance to me world.
