The CEO's Wife Is A Demon God's Daughter

Cassie, Flint, and Scarlet were now traversing through the dark forest. Cassie urged Scarlet to run as fast as she could. They couldn't afford further delays, otherwise, Flint would lose so much blood.

"Master, can you hear it?" Scarlet asked when she heard some movement from the distance.

Cassie bobbed her head and focused her attention on her surroundings. She could hear dried branches of trees being snapped as heavy footsteps were coming their way.

"Monster… I can sense its killing intent…" Cassie became more alert. The dark forest was literally dark. She couldn't see clearly. But she could hear noises.

Cassie secured Flint in her arms. She was prepared to create a shield using her barriers to block the monster's attack.

Cassie couldn't fight back or launch an attack since she was taking care of Flint. All she could do was strengthen their defense until they could successfully pass through the dark forest.

The last border was the valley of the unknown. If they could pass through the last border, they could reach the sacred place. The only way out of this dimension could be found in the heart of the sacred place. It was the only door going back to the guardian warrior's world.

Scarlet was speeding up. But the monster hiding in the dark tailed them. Scarlet's fire was attracting the beast.

"Master, someone is chasing after us!" Scarlet warned Cassie.

"Just keep running! I'll deal with it!" Cassie waved her right hand as she began to create a moving barrier. Before the beast could touch them, it had to break the barrier first. This was also Cassie's way of spotting the exact location of the beast.

The beast was incredibly smart. He knew how to conceal its presence from Scarlet and Cassie.

"Master… I sense two beasts following us!" Scarlet could now hear noises from different directions.

Scarlet suddenly stopped when a foreign object fell from the sky, targeting them.

"Master, look out! It launched an attack from above us!"

Cassie glanced above. She immediately released a large fireball, throwing it at the incoming object. It was in a form of giant slime. When the giant fireball hit the giant slime, it burst. Sticky liquid began falling from above.

"Master, create a barrier. That liquid is poisonous. It will burn your skin!"  Scarlet tried her best to avoid the droplets of poisonous liquid. She altered her moves, jumping from one side to another.

Cassie followed her instruction. She formed a barrier above them. The moment the liquid touched the barrier, the barrier started to deform and melt.

"What kind of monster is this?" Cassie asked Scarlet. She was securing Flint in her hand. She must protect him no matter what.

"A giant spider beast!" Scarlet responded. A giant spider beast finally showed up, blocking their path.

Scarlet stopped in an instant. Aside from the poisonous slime coming from the spider beast, it also tried to catch them using its spider web. The spider silk thread was very strong and durable. It won't be easily broken.

"How about the other beast?" Cassie asked again. She could hear some movements at the back. Two beasts seemed like working together to capture them.

"Shhhhhhhh!" They heard a loud hissing sound.

"Oh Gosh! It's a giant serpent with three heads!" Cassie blurted out when the serpent reappeared.

"Master, I have to put you down first. I will transform into my dragon form and fight the giant serpent with three heads! Can you handle the spider?" Scarlet consulted Cassie.

"Yes. I got this. But I must secure Flint first."

Flint groaned, grabbing Cassie's arm. He was worried about her. The giant spider was too big. How would she be able to defeat that?

But Cassie gave him a reassuring smile. "Wait for me, Flint. I will fight the beast and get you out of here."

Cassie put Flint down, making him lean on the tree trunk.  She cast a barrier around that would protect Flint. It would serve as his double shield.

"Cassie… be careful… be safe…" Flint mumbled softly.

Cassie smiled at him as she nodded her head. A giant beast won't be able to defeat her. She was a descendant of the demon god. She was powerful like her mother, Zhen-Zhen. When it came to protecting someone, her power increased ten times.

'I remember my brother. He sacrificed his magical power to save our great-grandpa's life. I believe… I can do everything as well just to protect the one I love. I won't let these monsters touch even a single strand of Flint's hair.'

Scarlet already transformed into her dragon form. She was three times bigger than the giant serpent. She began attacking the giant serpent, luring it away from Cassie and Flint. She didn't want to put them in danger. She also believed that her master would be able to defeat the giant spider.

Seeing how protective Scarlet was, Cassie also did her job. She faced the giant spider and provoked it by throwing several fireballs in its direction. The giant spider tried to block her attack using his spider web.

Cassie flew in its direction, closing their huge gaps. It would be advantageous for her to fight the spider beast at a closer range. Cassie targeted its three legs at the back, burning them using her fire.

Cassie could beat the giant spider with her speed and agility. She moved from one side to another, confusing her target. The giant spider couldn't match her speed. Before the beast could make another attack, Cassie already immobilized it after burning its four legs from its rear side.

Thud!

After two minutes of fighting, the giant spider collapsed. Cassie didn't kill it. She just injured its legs so that it could no longer follow them. Cassie moved closer to the spider and touched its head.

"I don't hate you. I don't resent you so I don't have a reason to kill you. You were the one who launched the first attack. I just defended it." Cassie explained as if the giant spider could comprehend and understand her words.

To her surprise, a certain mark illuminated the spider's forehead. It was a symbol she couldn't understand. It did not take long before she heard a voice in her subconscious.

'I was defeated by you. Can I make you my master? I will serve you. Let's form a bond. You can bind me and summon me anytime.'

"Eh? Who are you?"

'I'm here… in front of you…'

Cassie's eyes widened in realization. The one speaking to her mind was none other than the giant spider beast.
