The 7th Great God (Overlord Fan Fiction)

Chapter 76: Theocracy Encounters (1)

~ Slane Theocracy ~

In the time that Night Silver had been away, the city developed at a rather fast past resulting in a fairly large city. It was almost shocking to see the level of development. However, under the surface there was always something hidden, this place was no different.

Before Night Silver left on her journey, the city she and the other gods helped to start was filled with people who shared a common past. To these people, they had suffered so much hardship together that it was difficult to see them as different. This led to adults conversing with each other like equals, as children played ignoring the very same differences.

Now though, there was a large swath of humans who seemed to wear a look of disgust whenever an elf or dwarf came into their view. The look on their face was close to one of malice. This change sparked many issues and even came to fights on occasion, it was a daily occurrence.

Hovering in the air, using a type of invisibility spell, Night Silver looked at the city. It seems like it grew quite fast. That's good. But, why do I see so many humans harboring such malice towards the other races? Do they think themselves superior for some reason? Why?... Let's go find out. She thought, flying down into a small alley. There she released her invisibility and double checked herself before walking out. All set now.

Night Silver walked out of the alley, making it seem like she was on her way minding her own business. From afar an elf noticed her and started crying, it was as if the elf knew what Night Silver was planning. And thus remained quiet and simply watched, but got ready to support his Mother Goddess.

From just a few paces away a few humans that looked up to no good purposely got into Night Silver's way. For Night Silver, obliterating these insolent fools wouldn't be difficult in the slightest. In fact she had already thought of 200 different combinations of ways to either teach them a lesson or kill them. However, she didn't react to those thoughts just yet.

"Hey, hey. What do we have here? A damn inhuman getting in the way of us humans?" One of the idiots started up in a typical bad guy tone like he was looking for a fight.

"Hmph, daring to try and look more beautiful than a human woman like myself. Such insolence, you should be ashamed of yourself, you and all your disgusting and unholy kind." The woman of the three idiots added, to be fair she was at least mildly good looking but nothing special. "Ugh, what's with that horrible look on your face, it's so ugly and gross…" She continued, exasperated.

"Oh come now, there isn't a person alive who could match your beauty." The third idiot said, clearly trying to win the favor of the woman in question.

Night Silver simply stared at the three of them momentarily as she pondered what she wanted to do. How shall I go about this? I didn't expect them to be this terrible. I wonder… "Why exactly are you so upset again? If it's the cutting you off thing, I know for a fact it was you who just cut me off. You even went so far out your way just to get into mine." She began, then sassing her hips… She gave the woman a fiery stare. "If what you want to see is ugly, I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for in a mirror. But if you want to see beauty, you're looking at it." She smirked.

"WHY YOU! Kill her boys!" The woman shouted. The two men took out what amounted to shotty blades. "Today you'll learn which one has a goddess' beauty. And certainly isn't yourself you ugly elven bitch." The woman cackled. The two men went to stab Night Silver. But, this would be the beginning of their last mistake.

From the other side of the street a young boy and girl came running over. They had recognized Night Silver at a glance, something that would be damn near impossible for an elf to mess up. These two kids were still young and innocent, yet to be exposed to some of the dangers of foolish adults.

"Oh my, you have your own children? Damn your kind. You two kill the brats too." The woman said… "Make sure they go first." She added with a wicked grin.

Night Silver was simply not going to let that happen. However, instead of simply beating the men up she cast a protection spell on the children. It will be scary but a good lesson for them.

The shotty blades broke on impact with the now terrified children. Both of them grabbing onto one of Night Silver's legs shivering. The two men were stunned.

"HOW! My precious blade has been shattered!" One of the two men shouted.

"You'll pay for this, wench!" The other man grumbled.

"Oh my, and here I thought you could actually be redeemed. Perhaps I was being a little naive. If I hadn't protected these precious treasures you'd have delivered some serious wounds upon them." Night Silver said, there was no longer a smile on her face. This time her beauty seemed absolutely deadly.

"How dare a lowly elf complain about a human's actions. We humans are the most superior race. And don't you forget it." The woman complained with a malevolent voice.

"You really think you're superior? Why exactly?" Night Silver asked.

"5 of the 6 Great Gods are human! Of course that means Humans are superior. What are you, an idiot?" The woman answered, complaining with mumbles all the way.

"I see, so you think there are only 6 Gods. Interesting… I wonder how they feel about that, especially the 7th whom you're conveniently leaving out." Night Silver narrowed her eyes, though not too much. Just enough to get the message across.

"Pfft, there was never a 7th God. Merely a demon, one pretending to be a god. She was entirely worthless too." The woman cackled again. "Enough of this, all three of you should offer your lives to me and I'll forgive this blunder." She continued.

"I see it now, you have a god complex. Well then… I guess I may actually have to kill you." Night Silver said with a cold smile. The two men fell to the ground foaming at the mouth and the woman was paralyzed.
