Chapter 45: Snow white and Rabbit
With that of Weiss, she was taking some thing for the trip as well, mostly dust and thing to protect them self, sense they were going to going on forever fall asleep Miss Glynda said, she was looking for something as someone handed her something.
"Looking for this".
She turned her head, to see girl with red eyes, fair skin, wear a white/silver coat, with a black like outfit under it, as she was wearing black leggings and red heels, she smiled before she noticed something on top of the girls hair was two rabbit ears, this girl was Faunus, Weiss was a bit taken back but she then cooled her self down, she remembers the words her mother said before coming to beacon, few of the good things her mother said Actually, "Don't blame the action of a few on the many".
Weiss just looked at her, she felt like this girls every words was full with dirty jokes and inyaindos. "Thanks and um you are".
The Faunus girl looked at her as she spoke. "My name is Rose I am second year in Beacon".
Weiss looked at her as it clicked. "Waith, Rose are the same Rose who is in the C.R.I.M".
Rose stopped and looked as she laughed. "So you know about me, wait you must be part of Team ROWBY, My darling Crimson has been taking about you guys, and will Isaac as well, it is nice to meet you".
Weiss raised an eyebrow at Rose's casual demeanor and playful tone, unsure how to respond. "Yes, I'm Weiss Schnee, part of Team ROWBY." Her tone was polite but cautious. "And you must be talking about Crimson. He's... well, he seems quite passionate."
Rose chuckled, her red eyes glinting mischievously. "Oh, Crimson's always been that way. He's a sweetheart, though he can be a bit intense. But you already knew that, didn't you?" She tilted her head, her rabbit ears twitching slightly. "You seem... reserved, Weiss. Let me guess—you've had a complicated relationship with Faunus before?"
Weiss froze for a moment, surprised at Rose's directness. "I... Well, I wouldn't call it complicated. Let's just say I'm working on seeing things differently."
Rose gave her a knowing smile. "Good answer. It's not easy unlearning what you've been taught your whole life, is it?" She stepped closer, her tone softening. "But trust me, Weiss. People are people, no matter what they look like. Some are good, some are bad, and most of us are just trying to get by."
Weiss nodded slowly, her earlier hesitation giving way to a more genuine expression. "You're right. It's something I'm trying to remind myself of every day."
Rose grinned, her playful energy returning. "See? You're already off to a great start. Now, if you ever need help with anything—or just someone to talk to—feel free to find me. I'm usually hanging around Crimson or Isaac, but I'm always up for meeting new people."
Weiss couldn't help but smile faintly at Rose's easygoing attitude. "Thank you, Rose. I'll keep that in mind."
As Rose turned to leave, she paused and glanced over her shoulder. "By the way, Weiss, don't let anyone put you in a box. You're more than just a Schnee. Remember that."
Weiss watched as Rose walked away, her words lingering in her mind. For the first time in a while, Weiss felt a sense of clarity—like she was starting to break free from the expectations and prejudices that had defined her for so long.
Weiss then remember something that Isaac had told him. "Wait what is your relationship with my cousin".
Rose just laughed as she spoke. "Oh Isaac, we have noting going one, his sword is not sharp enough for me, I am dating Crimson, your cousin girlfriend is our fourth member Morgan".
Weiss face went red as she looked at Rose. "Is your whole vocabulary dirty jokes".
Rose smriked as she looked at him. "There is no shame in it, plus it makes things interesting~ between me and Crimson".
Weiss now had a mental Image she would like to forget. Weiss' face turned even more crimson as Rose's words hit home. She quickly shook her head, trying to dismiss the image that was now stuck in her mind. "I—I really didn't need to know that," Weiss muttered under her breath, trying to regain some semblance of composure.
Rose just smirked knowingly, enjoying Weiss' discomfort. "Oh, don't worry, Weiss. It'll be our little secret," she teased, her tone light and playful. "But hey, if you ever want to join the mature conversation club, feel free to drop by anytime."
Weiss blinked, momentarily lost for words. "Mature conversation?" she repeated incredulously. "I—no. I think I'll pass."
Rose chuckled, clearly enjoying herself. "Alright, alright, I'll leave you to your... wholesome thoughts," she said with a wink before turning to leave. "Just remember, if you ever need a break from all the purity, I'm here. See you around, Weiss."
Weiss stood there, staring at Rose's retreating figure, her face still hot from embarrassment. She shook her head, trying to clear the awkward thoughts from her mind. "This is going to be very interesting," she muttered to herself, trying to get back to her shopping without getting lost in her own thoughts about her cousin, Crimson, and the unexpected revelations from Rose.
But one thing was certain—her life at Beacon was definitely becoming more complicated, and she wasn't sure whether she was ready for everything that came with it.
Weiss stood in the store for a moment longer, her mind racing with the unexpected turn of events. Rose's playful demeanor had thrown her off completely, and she couldn't help but wonder how much of her teasing was real and how much was just part of her usual charm. Trying to shake off the awkwardness, Weiss grabbed the last of the supplies she needed and headed to the checkout.
As she left the store, the cool air of Vale greeted her, and for a moment, it helped clear her mind. Her thoughts drifted back to her team. Despite all the strange encounters she was having, being with her team at Beacon felt like one of the few things in her life that was constant. Ruby, Yang, Blake—each one brought something different to the table, and she found herself slowly growing more attached to them, even if it wasn't always easy to admit.
Meanwhile, in the distance, she could see the unmistakable figure of Oscar, who was walking out of the bookstore with Yang. He was laughing about something Yang had said, clearly in high spirits, and Weiss felt a brief flicker of curiosity. She had to admit, Oscar was... different. There was something endearing about the way he seemed to roll with whatever happened, no matter how absurd or strange it was.
Weiss couldn't help but smirk at herself. She was thinking about him again.
She snapped herself out of it quickly. Focus, Weiss. You're supposed to be getting ready for the trip, not thinking about some boy.
But as she turned to leave, her thoughts kept drifting back to the way Oscar had so casually taken on the chaos of Beacon. Maybe, just maybe, he wasn't as ordinary as she first thought.
Back at the dorms, Ruby and Blake were continuing their conversation, their bond growing stronger as they shared their thoughts on the stories they'd been discussing. Ruby had even started sharing some of her deeper reflections on life, opening up about how she viewed the world differently now, thanks to the stories she'd read. Blake, though more reserved, was starting to see a side of Ruby she hadn't expected, one that showed maturity and depth.
Meanwhile, Yang and Oscar had arrived back with their supplies, still laughing as they entered the dorm. Oscar was trying to suppress a grin, and Yang, though usually the confident one, looked almost shy when she realized how they were both getting along.
"Well, that was an adventure," Oscar remarked, setting the bags down.
"Definitely an interesting trip," Yang agreed, her voice more relaxed than usual. She glanced over at Oscar with a smile, but when she noticed Ruby watching them, her expression quickly shifted to one of playful mischief. "Hey, Ruby, how'd your trip go with Blake?"
Ruby's face immediately brightened. "It was awesome! We talked about so many cool things!" She grinned, clearly proud of the bonding time they'd had.
Blake, standing beside her, just nodded, though a small smile tugged at the corner of her lips. "It was... insightful," she added.
Yang shot a teasing glance at Blake. "And Ruby has some very interesting reading choices," she teased, a wink in her voice.
Blake's cheeks tinged pink, but she quickly regained her composure. "It's not about the books, Yang. It's about what you learn from them."
Oscar, who had been quietly listening to the banter, couldn't help but laugh. "You guys are definitely something else," he remarked, shaking his head in amusement.
Weiss walked in just then, and hearing the laughter and chatter in the room, she couldn't help but smile. It wasn't often that she felt like she truly belonged anywhere, but Beacon was starting to feel more like home.
"Did you all get what you needed?" Weiss asked, her voice calm but with a hint of curiosity.
"Yep," Yang said, giving her a thumbs-up. "And now we're ready for the trip. We just need to pack and head out."
As the group settled down and began discussing their upcoming journey to Forever Fall, Weiss found herself unexpectedly feeling at ease. Perhaps, despite everything that had happened so far, this trip might be exactly what they all needed. A chance to bond, reflect, and prepare for whatever the world had in store.
And though her mind briefly wandered to the unexpected encounters of the day—Rose's teasing, Oscar's presence, the confusing mess of emotions that kept tugging at her heart—Weiss knew one thing for sure: life at Beacon was never going to be dull.
And for better or worse, that was exactly how she liked it.
Later that night, Oscar went outside and did his Job as the White Mask, he took down some criminal and made his way to Dock 17.
His eyes moved left snd right, as he was going to move he stopped. "This looks like trap".
Ding!
[Host has gotten a + 1 to Intelligent].
Oscar looked around as he actived [Shadow Vell] he covered him self in Shadow and looked around, as he was behind something he saw Penny.
Oscar just sighed. "Knew it, this girl is something else".
He then shadow travel right Infront of her, taking the android girl back, as she stumbled and almost fell.
She just looked at as he catches her. "Um white mask um".
Oscar looked at her as she spoke. "I gotta say good plan to get me out by making a fake Dust robary, but that is no way you are gonna get to know my identity, no matter how badly you want to know".
Penny looked up at Oscar, her bright green eyes filled with curiosity but also with a hint of determination. She stood there, her usual cheerful demeanor masked by the situation they were in.
Oscar, still keeping to his disguise, maintained his serious expression but couldn't help the slight chuckle that escaped him. "You're too much of a handful for your own good, you know that?" he said, still holding her steady as she regained her balance. "You can't keep doing this. Every time you pull stunts like this, you put both of us at risk."
Penny blinked, clearly processing his words. "I... I didn't mean to put you in danger," she said softly. "I just wanted to make sure my plan went right. There are a lot of people depending on me."
Oscar looked at her, his eyes softening a little as he finally let go of his stern expression. "I know, Penny. I get it," he said, his voice now a bit more gentle. "But this isn't the way to do it. Getting close to someone as dangerous as me isn't exactly the safest plan either."
Penny's face seemed to darken for a moment, her thoughts seemingly racing. "So... what are you going to do now? You've caught me. Is this where we part ways?"
Oscar paused for a moment, and then, with a deep sigh, he spoke again. "No, we don't have to part ways. But we need to stop these games. I don't want to play this 'catch me if you can' game with you forever."
She tilted her head slightly. "You want me to stop...?"
"Not stop what you're doing, Penny," Oscar said with a shake of his head. "I know you have your reasons. I just don't want you going off on your own again, getting yourself into trouble without backup. You can't always do everything yourself. Especially not when we've got bigger things to worry about."
Penny was quiet for a moment, taking in his words. She studied his face, trying to read him, but he was as stoic as ever, a wall she could never fully get through.
"Alright, I'll think about it," Penny said, sounding unusually serious. "But if I ever need your help again... I might just show up uninvited."
Oscar smirked under his mask. "Just don't get yourself killed doing it," he replied with a playful yet concerned tone.
Penny took a small step back, scanning their surroundings. "This place feels... odd. Something isn't right here."
Oscar looked around carefully. He could feel the tension in the air. It was as though they were being watched, the shadows seeming to grow deeper. He activated his [Shadow Sense], feeling for any movement around them.
"I agree," Oscar muttered, his instincts kicking in. "This isn't just a random trap. Someone's been setting things up here, and we're about to walk right into it."
Before Penny could respond, Oscar pulled her behind a stack of crates, just as a sudden burst of movement came from the shadows. Several figures cloaked in black, armed with weapons, emerged from the darkness, surrounding them.
Penny's stance shifted instantly, her body ready to fight, but Oscar held up a hand. "Wait. Let me handle this," he whispered to her.
She looked at him, hesitating for a moment before nodding reluctantly.
Oscar took a deep breath, drawing on the energy from his [Shadow Travel] and [Shadow Sense] skills. He moved quickly, vanishing into the shadows and reappearing behind one of the cloaked figures. With a precise movement, he knocked the weapon from the assailant's hands, disabling them in one swift motion.
The other figures reacted quickly, drawing their weapons in unison. Oscar was already back in the shadows, moving fluidly and striking with pinpoint accuracy, taking down the attackers one by one with quick, non-lethal blows. Penny, watching from behind the crates, couldn't help but be impressed by how effortlessly Oscar handled the situation.
After a few moments, the remaining attackers paused, realizing they were outmatched.
"Who are you?" one of the remaining figures demanded, their voice muffled beneath their mask.
Oscar stepped forward from the shadows, his expression now fierce. "That's none of your business. But if you keep pushing, you won't like what happens next."
The figure didn't move, but the others seemed unsure. They hesitated for a moment before one of them spoke.
"We were hired to deal with you," the figure said coldly. "But it seems we've underestimated you. We'll be back."
Oscar's eyes narrowed. "I'm not the one you should be worried about," he said, his voice low and filled with a chilling promise.
With that, the attackers turned and quickly retreated into the shadows, disappearing just as swiftly as they had come.
Oscar let out a breath, his body relaxing as he dismissed his [Shadow Sense] and let the tension leave him. He turned back to Penny, who was staring at him with wide eyes.
"See what I mean? Trouble follows you wherever you go," he said, his tone light but with a hint of concern.
Penny gave him a small, sheepish smile. "I guess I can't help it. But thanks for having my back."
Oscar nodded, his expression softening. "Just be careful. I can only do so much if you keep putting yourself in harm's way."
"Understood," Penny replied, her tone a bit more serious now. "But I'll still do what I need to do, even if it means putting myself in danger."
Oscar stared at her for a moment, sensing the resolve in her voice. "You're stubborn, you know that?"
Penny just looked at him as she played with her finger. "It's just I wanna know who you are."
With a final glance at the now-empty dock, Oscar let out a sigh. "Well, it looks like our little rendezvous here is over. Stay safe, Penny. And next time, try not to get yourself into trouble without me, alright?"
Penny then looked away, as she spoke. "No promises, White Mask. But I'll try my best."
Oscar gave her a small nod before vanishing into the shadows, leaving Penny to reflect on the encounter. She couldn't deny that there was something strangely comforting about the mysterious figure who always seemed to show up when she needed him most.
But for now, the night was still young, and there were more secrets to uncover.
