RWBY: Oscar the gamer

Chapter 44: Your religious

In that of the Cafitaria, Team JNPR was just looking at Team ROWBY.

Ren was the first to speak. "So what are you doing".

Oscar just looked at them as he spoke. "Basically drawing stick to see who will go with who to get thing for forever fall, seeing we are a Team of 5, one of us will be left alone".

Jaune looked at then as she spoke. "So is this safe".

As to shows Yang, rubbing the 5 sticks as then she was spinning into fast as it set on fire, as Oscar used a [Water Blast] a weaker version of the spell, as it stopped the fire, as each Member took it, Ruby and Blake ended up together and Oscar and Yang which left Weiss on her own, Yang cheered, to the confusion of Jaune, Pyrrha, Ren and Nora, and she got death glares from Ruby, Blake and Weiss

Ren just picked up as he thought to him self. "Will damm, the four girls in the team like the same Boy, better just mind my own business".

Jaune blinked in confusion, glancing between the members of Team ROWBY and Oscar. "Wait, are you saying all of you like—"

Pyrrha quickly nudged Jaune in the ribs, cutting him off. "Jaune, maybe now isn't the best time to bring that up."

Nora, ever the energetic one, leaned in with a wide grin. "Oh, no no no, I wanna hear more about this! Ruby, Blake, Weiss, Yang… all of you like Oscar? This is way juicier than any pancake recipe I've ever heard!"

Ruby's face turned beet red as she waved her arms frantically. "N-No! That's not what this is about! We're just… doing this to split up for the trip, that's all!"

Blake, trying to appear indifferent, muttered, "It's really not a big deal. Pairings don't mean anything."

Weiss huffed, crossing her arms. "Exactly. It's just a random draw. Nothing more."

Yang, however, was grinning ear to ear. "Oh, come on, Weiss. Admit it. You're just mad because you didn't get paired with Oscar."

Weiss shot her a glare. "I am not! I just think it's unfair that I have to go alone while you get to drag him along for whatever ridiculous shenanigans you'll inevitably get into."

Oscar, feeling the growing tension, raised his hands. "Hey, hey, let's not make this a big deal. We're just getting supplies, right? No need to overthink it."

Ren, silently observing, sighed and leaned closer to Jaune. "It's definitely a big deal. This is going to turn into a mess if they don't sort out their feelings."

Jaune nodded, whispering back, "Yeah, but honestly… kind of entertaining to watch."

As Team ROWBY continued their playful bickering, Team JNPR decided to quietly retreat to avoid being caught in the crossfire.

Nora, however, couldn't resist shouting as they left, "Good luck, Oscar! You're gonna need it!"

Oscar groaned, rubbing his temples. This is going to be a long day.

On that day Oscar and Yang was going to buy the things they wanted too.

Yang looked at as she spoke. "So what are we getting".

Oscar looked at her as he spoke. "Just a few supplies, a first aid kit if we get damaged by the grimm when our Aura are down, camping supplies, and a book that says how to keep everyone live in a camping trip".

Yang just looked at him as she spoken. "Do they even sell a book like that"

Oscar just srugged. "I don't know".

Yang then took to on one of the parking lot on Beacon, as she pulled out Bumble Bee

Ding!

[Emergency Quest: Survive]

Oscar just looked at his system as he spoke in his mind. "The fuck do you mens Survive".

As he got on Yang bike, as she looked back at him. "Hold on tite".

Oscar just had to looked at her. "Ok".

As he rabbed his arm around her waist, as it was gentle and it was like he was giving her a hung, but her hair was on his face, but what he couldn't see was Yang was blushing by the touch.

As she fired her bikes and will Oscar had one hell of ride, as they arrived near a book store, Oscar was so happy of his [Poison Immunity] Skill, other wise he would be puking, as he looked up too see the board

Oscar red the board. "Tukson's Book Trade".

Yang then spoke. "Home to every Book under the sun".

Oscar looked at her as he spoke. "Odd I don't see that in the board".

Yang just opened the door. "Because it is not there, people that come here just say it because it is the owner signature line".

Oscar walked in with her. "Neet".

The small bell above the door jingled as Oscar and Yang entered Tukson's Book Trade. The store was cozy, with rows upon rows of bookshelves that seemed to stretch forever. The scent of aged paper filled the air, giving the place a welcoming yet mysterious atmosphere. Tukson, the owner, was standing behind the counter, a large Faunus with dark hair and glasses, quietly reading a book. He glanced up as they entered and gave a polite nod.

"Welcome to Tukson's Book Trade," Tukson said in a calm, deep voice. "Home to every book under the sun. Let me know if you need help finding anything."

Oscar gave him a small smile and a nod. "Thanks. We're just looking for some camping and survival guides."

Yang leaned against one of the shelves, her usual confident grin in place. "And maybe something about dealing with overzealous teammates who might set the camp on fire."

Oscar chuckled, shaking his head. "Don't tempt fate, Yang. Let's not jinx the trip before it even starts."

They wandered through the aisles, scanning the shelves. Oscar's eyes were sharp, meticulously searching for the titles he needed. Yang, on the other hand, casually picked up random books, flipping through them with mild interest. Occasionally, she'd read a funny or dramatic line aloud, earning a quiet laugh from Oscar.

Finally, Oscar found a few promising titles: "Grimm Survival: A Comprehensive Guide," "Camping 101 for Beginners," and, surprisingly, "How to Keep Your Team Alive During a Camping Trip."

He held up the last one with a triumphant grin. "Told you they'd have it."

Yang raised an eyebrow, smirking. "Okay, I'll give you that. But don't let this book fool you—if anyone's keeping us alive, it'll be me."

Oscar smirked back. "Sure, I'll just handle the medical emergencies while you're busy posing dramatically after punching a Grimm."

Yang laughed and gave him a playful nudge. "You're learning, farm boy."

After grabbing the books, they moved toward the counter. Tukson rang them up with practiced efficiency, giving Oscar a curious glance. "You seem pretty prepared. First camping trip?"

Oscar shrugged, keeping his expression neutral. "Something like that."

As they left the store and stepped back into the sunlight, Yang tossed one of the bags over her shoulder. "Alright, we've got the books. Now let's hit the general store for the rest of the stuff."

Oscar nodded but paused as his system dinged again.

Ding!

[Hidden Objective Unlocked: Tukson's Warning]

[Reward: 200 XP and Intel Update]

Before Oscar left something almost fall on him, he moved out of the way, as he saw a Book that said The Tale Of The Two Brother.

Oscar then picked one the book up. "I didn't expect the Book from the church of the two brother to be here".

Tukson looked up as he saw him. "Oh yeah, that is part of the religious Section, what are you part of the church".

Osacr looked at him as he spoke. "No i believe in the teaching of the Silver Maiden".

Yang looked at as she spoke. "You religious".

Oscar looked at her as he spoke. "Don't you and Ruby believe in the Emerald God".

Yang just srugged. "I am not much of a believer, we only worship him because our dad does".

Oscar just looked at him as he put the book back. "Will the Silver Maiden is one to the two main religion in Mistral".

Tukson raised an eyebrow at Oscar's words and gave him a thoughtful nod. "That's true. The Silver Maiden is a revered figure in Mistral, known for her teachings of resilience and wisdom. It's always interesting to meet someone who follows her path, especially here in Vale."

Oscar smiled politely. "It's less about following and more about appreciating her teachings. Growing up in the countryside, her stories were often used as lessons about perseverance and kindness."

Yang crossed her arms, leaning against a nearby shelf. "Huh, so you're full of surprises, farm boy. Never thought of you as the religious type."

Oscar shrugged. "It's not about religion, really. The Silver Maiden's teachings are practical—less about faith and more about values you can live by."

Yang smirked, clearly intrigued. "Alright, preacher boy. Next time we're on a mission, feel free to throw some of that wisdom my way. Just make sure it's not while we're getting chased by Grimm."

Tukson chuckled softly, stepping out from behind the counter. "It's good to see young people still paying attention to the old stories. They have their own kind of power, you know."

As Oscar returned the book to its shelf, a soft thought lingered in his mind. The Tale of the Two Brothers and the Silver Maiden weren't just stories in Remnant—they often carried hidden truths. He glanced at the book one last time before turning back to Yang.

"Ready?" he asked.

Yang nodded, adjusting the bag of supplies on her shoulder. "Always."

As they left the store, Tukson watched them go, a slight frown forming on his face. He muttered under his breath, "Strange… there's something about that kid."

The bell jingled behind them, and Tukson returned to his counter, eyeing the religious section thoughtfully.

Meanwhile in a different place, Blake and Ruby were talking to eachother, they were surprisingly getting well very well, as They were bonding over book Secires..

Blake was a bit taken back by some of Ruby choice which are more complex, as she remembers her own "life is not like fairy tell line".

Blake looked at Ruby. "I didn't expect you to have such complex feelings".

Ruby thought as she went more of her thought. "I love old story I find them amazing, but when I looked then up I find the Original Version and not the one told to kids, it opened my eyes to how scary the world can be, how ever I looked at how each story was Pacific for each generation, I found the underlying truth how something Fun and Enjoyable comes from something more twisted, I look at the world with something fill with Monster, and it is people like hunter that will make the world more fun".

Blake looked at her not expecting this from Ruby. "You are more complicated then you look, but also I noticed something some of does titles are about someone becoming a great leader, are you projecting".

Ruby paused, her silver eyes flickering with a mixture of surprise and thoughtfulness. She tilted her head slightly, as if considering Blake's observation. "Projecting? Maybe a little," she admitted, twirling a strand of her hair nervously. "I mean... it's not like I want to be some big, great leader or anything. But... I guess I've always thought that if I could make a difference, if I could inspire people, even just a little, then maybe things could get better."

Blake leaned forward slightly, intrigued. "That sounds like the kind of thing a leader would say, Ruby. And it's not a bad thing. The best leaders aren't the ones who want power or recognition—they're the ones who just want to help."

Ruby blushed at the compliment but quickly waved it off. "Oh, come on, Blake. I'm just a girl who likes weapons and cookies. I'm not exactly 'leader material.'"

Blake smirked, crossing her arms. "You might not see it, but the way you talk about protecting people, about making the world better... it's pretty inspiring. And it explains why you're drawn to those kinds of stories. You're looking for guidance, maybe even a little reassurance, that someone like you can actually make a difference."

Ruby looked down at her hands, fidgeting slightly. "Maybe... but it's also kind of scary, you know? Thinking about all the people who might be counting on you. What if I mess up? What if I can't be what they need me to be?"

Blake placed a comforting hand on Ruby's shoulder. "That fear? It's normal. It's what keeps you grounded. But you're not alone, Ruby. You've got us—your team, your friends. We believe in you, even when you don't believe in yourself."

Ruby looked up, her silver eyes shimmering with gratitude. "Thanks, Blake. That... means a lot."

Blake smiled softly. "Anytime. And, for the record, I think you'd make an amazing leader someday. You just need to believe it too."

Ruby chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. "Alright, alright. Enough with the deep stuff. Let's get back to talking about books. Have you read The Tale of the Silver Crown? It's about this young queen who—"

Blake interrupted with a grin. "Let me guess, she inspires her kingdom with her courage and compassion?"

Ruby laughed, her cheeks turning red. "Okay, maybe I do have a type."
