"Let's go. Since we're here, we should enjoy Saffron City while we can."

After registering for the gym battle, Tyson decided to take his Mankey and Sylveon for a stroll around the bustling streets of Saffron City.

Saffron was a melting pot of trainers from all regions, and while Sylveon's graceful appearance caught the attention of passersby, the city's diversity meant it didn't draw undue surprise. Trainers in Saffron were accustomed to seeing rare Pokémon.

As a trainer, Tyson's focus naturally gravitated towards places that catered to trainers' needs, starting with the sprawling Saffron Department Store.

Silph Corporation, known for its innovation and unrivaled quality in Poké Ball manufacturing, had a prominent presence here. The first floor of the department store showcased rows of Poké Balls, ranging from standard Poké Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls to more specialized designs like Quick Balls and Heavy Balls, tailored for specific capture scenarios.

For Tyson, however, most of these were unnecessary. He preferred raising Pokémon from a young age, fostering bonds and trust instead of relying on forced captures. Even when he did engage in battles to capture Pokémon, he relied on overwhelming strength and mutual respect to form connections.

The luxury section offered Comfort Balls, which ensured Pokémon's well-being while inside. Tyson spared no expense, purchasing several to give his team the best possible accommodations. His Pokémon deserved nothing less.

Moving to the medicine aisle, he stocked up on items like Potions, Full Heals, and Revives. Each item was neatly categorized into basic, intermediate, advanced, and top-tier variants, designed to cater to Pokémon of varying strength. Although Shadow often supplied Tyson with resources, having extra on hand felt prudent.

Skill TMs (Technical Machines), evolution items like Moon Stones, and battle-enhancing tools such as Charcoal and Mystic Water were neatly arranged, drawing Tyson's attention. He made mental notes about potential purchases but prioritized essentials for now.

On the fourth floor, a large poster promoting a knockout tournament caught his eye. A crowd of trainers had gathered to review the details.

Curious, Tyson approached and read the rules. The tournament was simple: each participant would use a single Pokémon in one-on-one battles. Winners advanced through the brackets, while losers were eliminated. Matches were randomized, and each contestant could face up to three opponents daily.

The rewards piqued Tyson's interest. Every participant, win or lose, would receive a Silph Corporation Poké Ball. As trainers advanced, they could choose additional rewards, including more Poké Balls, TMs, potions, and evolution items.

The top 50 contestants could choose two rewards per victory, the top 10 three rewards, and the top 3 an additional selection. The grand prize for first place? A coveted Master Ball—Silph Corporation's legendary Poké Ball capable of capturing any Pokémon without fail.

Tyson was impressed by Silph Corporation's investment in the event. Hosting such a large-scale tournament wasn't merely a promotional stunt; it was a masterful strategy. By distributing rewards, Silph Corporation earned goodwill among trainers, forged alliances, and built a vast network of future supporters.

Elite trainers who performed well were likely to be scouted, while others would develop loyalty to the company through its generosity. It was a subtle yet powerful display of influence.

Without hesitation, Tyson registered for the tournament. He had a few days before his gym battle, and this was a perfect opportunity to showcase his skills. As a young trainer with talent and resourcefulness, he was confident in standing out among the competition.

The tournament's age restriction—participants had to be 15 or younger—made it the ideal arena to identify promising talent. Tyson knew that at his age, few could match his level of expertise and training.
