"You've completed this mission exceptionally well. Your reward will be delivered after the gym battle is over. I trust you won't be disappointed."

"Also, if Silph Co. approaches to recruit you, decline the offer. Ensure your background remains clean."

Late at night in his hotel room, under Kadabra's psychic vigilance, Shadow's voice emerged steadily from the communicator.

Hearing about his reward, Tyson remained calm. He understood Shadow's methods—merit was always rewarded. However, the warning about rejecting Silph Co.'s recruitment triggered a series of thoughts.

Tyson recalled the games, where Silph Co. was infiltrated by Team Rocket. While the organization failed to gain complete control, their influence still lingered within.

Shadow likely knew some of this backstory. He must have suspected that any recruitment by Silph Co. could inadvertently tie Tyson to Rocket operatives. If discovered, it could jeopardize not just Rocket-affiliated trainers but also tarnish Silph Co.'s reputation.

This cautionary advice made sense. Tyson concluded it was a preventive measure to keep his intelligence dossier clean.

"Understood," Tyson replied firmly.

"Good. We'll be in touch."

The call ended abruptly, as was typical with Shadow. Tyson cleared the call history and stowed the communicator, ready to focus on training.

While Shadow warned him against joining Silph Co., he hadn't barred him from participating in their events. With the knockout tournament's generous rewards, Tyson was determined to give it his all.

"Charizard, let's get you attuned to your new strength," he said.

Using his system to enhance Charizard's stats further, Tyson began a rigorous training session. The blazing Charizard practiced its Flamethrower, its precision and power noticeably sharper.

Meanwhile, the rest of Tyson's team worked hard. Kadabra was on the verge of breaking into the Advanced Level, requiring every ounce of effort. Tyson aimed to push Kadabra to a breakthrough after the gym challenge.

Sylveon continued its training under Tyson's guidance, progressing steadily with the help of mission points. Soon, it would be ready to attempt the Elite Level.

The Mankey was also nearing the Excellent level, though further progress would inevitably slow down. Even so, its growth rate outpaced that of most trainers' Pokémon.

In the spacious training room, Charizard unleashed a powerful Flamethrower, feeling its newfound strength with every release. Under Tyson's watchful eye, Charizard began practicing Blast Burn, a move learned through a skill CD.

Tyson spared no expense, using mission points to raise Charizard's proficiency with Blast Burn to an intermediate level. The fiery blast shaped like a massive kanji symbol collided with the training dummy, leaving it scorched and broken.

"Keep at it, Charizard," Tyson encouraged. "Focus on perfecting Blast Burn to intermediate-level proficiency before the tournament."

As Charizard trained, Tyson monitored the rest of his team, occasionally using mission points to boost their skills. Sylveon 's playful determination and Primeape's fiery spirit gave Tyson confidence.

Even Ditto, typically reserved, began showing interest in battle training, inspired by the others' growth.

Tournament Day

The knockout tournament began at Silph Co.'s battle complex, a state-of-the-art facility with multiple arenas and ample seating for spectators.

The sheer size of the event meant Silver Company profited not just from ticket sales but also live-stream revenue.

In the waiting room, Tyson observed the densely packed trainers and staff. Silver Company managed the chaos with practiced efficiency, quickly organizing the participants.

Tyson's match was in the second round, giving him time to study the battles displayed on the large monitor. Fifty simultaneous matches filled the screen, showcasing trainers of varying skill levels.

Among them, a handful stood out, their Pokémon exuding elite-level power. Tyson noted their tactics and strategies while preparing for his own battle.

When his turn arrived, Tyson followed a staff member to the arena, where his opponent, Sloan, waited.

The referee outlined the rules: a one-on-one match with no substitutions. Once the signal was given, both trainers released their Pokémon.

Tyson sent out Charizard, whose imposing figure and fiery tail lit up the arena. Opposite him, Sloan's choice, a Advanced-level Bulbasaur, emerged.

Confidence faded from Sloan's face as he realized the stark difference in power. His once-bold expression turned grim as the battle began.
