Chapter 532: Power and Control

Everyone was momentarily shocked by my words, but it was clear they weren't swayed so I had to take my intimidation to another level.

"If you don't show yourselves," I warned, raising my staff high.

A black beam surged forth, shattering the sky like glass, unleashing a deafening boom that echoed across the city.

It was as if a piece of space itself had been raptured, the visual effects so intense that reality seemed to crumble .

In fact, if I had actually ruptured space, the entire city would have been pulled towards the sky.

But despite its fakeness, the aura it emitted was enough to make my point and frightened everyone.

"RUN!" The crowd below erupted into panic, their hearts gripped by fear as they fled for their lives.

Some screamed, their voices echoing through the chaos.

Others stumbled and fell, scrambling to get back up. Faces were twisted with terror, eyes wide and frantic.

Parents clutched their children, pulling them along as fast as they could.

Sweat poured down faces, mixing with tears of pure fear.

In the chaos people pushed and shoved, each one desperate to escape the danger

"You have this much power, but why are you doing this?" the Nuclear Man spoke, his voice filled with anger and hatred.

With a smirk, I crossed my arms and tilted my head, letting his words hang in the air.

"Because I can," I replied, my voice dripping with arrogance. "And there's nothing you can do to stop me."

"I will kill you!" he shouted, and flew towards me.

Energy surged through his body, igniting him like a green mass of light.

The crowd watched with bated breath, filled with hope that his flashy movements would somehow turn the tide against me.

However—

BLINK!

Out of nowhere, he vanished from the air.

One moment, he was charging at me, and the next, he found himself on the ground, all his momentum lost.

Dazed, he tried to understand what had just happened, but before he could even lift his head, he was forced to his knees.

I had increased the mass of the air around him, creating a crushing force that pinned him down.

His eyes widened in shock and confusion as he struggled against the invisible weight. His muscles bulged with effort, but it was futile.

The pressure was too much. Every attempt to rise was met with overwhelming resistance.

The crowd's hopeful murmurs turned into gasps of disbelief.

They had placed their faith in him, believing his flashy display of power would be enough.

But now, they could only watch in disappointment as he was brought to his knees.

"BASTARD!" he roared, releasing all the power within him.

His green body began to glow brighter, becoming more ethereal by the second.

The humans foolish enough to be nearby of an literal nuclear died from the intense radiation emanating from him.

But he was beyond caring about collateral damage; his mind was consumed by rage and desperation.

The air around him started churning, and the ground trembled under the force of his power.

He was transforming into a living reactor, his form barely holding together as the energy surged within him.

"Do you really think you can stop me with that?" I taunted.

But he didn't respond; he was too far gone, lost in the overwhelming power.

BOOOOOOOM!

He launched himself at me with breathtaking speed.

The ground beneath him got wreaked from the sheer force of his takeoff, sending debris flying in all directions.

His eyes, ablaze with rage, were locked onto me.

But now that I was a bit serious, I decided to show him the difference between us.

Instead of dodging his charge, I stood my ground.

My fingers wrapped tightly around my staff, feeling its power thrumming beneath my grip.

I raised it high, the tip glowing with a searing light, ready to unleash a bit of my power.

As he closed the distance, I began firing multiple white laser beams from my staff.

Each beam cut through the air at breath taking speed, bright streaks of energy aimed directly at him.

The first beam missed by inches as he twisted his body mid-air, displaying incredible agility.

He dodged the second beam by shifting to the side. The heat from the blast wounded him slightly, but he quickly regenerated.

But I wasn't done yet.

With a casual wave of my staff, I sent another volley of beams his way.

He was prepared, anticipating my attack, and evaded them with fluid aerial maneuver .

But, he had underestimated me far too much.

My control over my attack was absolute.

Just as he thought he had evaded the last one, I focused my energy, and the beams bent mid-air, defying the laws of physics.

His eyes widened in surprise as the beams curved, changing direction and coming at him from behind.

He tried to twist out of the way, but it was too late.

The beams struck him square in the back, sending him crashing to the ground.

"ARGHHHH" He let out a grunt of pain, the impact leaving a smoking crater beneath him.

Slowly, he rose to his feet, his breathing heavy and labored.

He glanced back at the smoking ground, then back at me, realization dawning on his face.

I twirled my staff, a satisfied smile playing on my lips.

"You should have known better," I said, my voice calmly mocking him. "Power isn't just about raw power. It's about control."

"And unfortunately for you, I'm extremely specialized in that department," I said with a confident smirk on my face.

He was speechless and tried to attack again, but before he could take one more step, the green light around his feet began to dim.

Slowly, his body started to solidify, turning grayish. He looked down in horror as the transformation crept up his legs, immobilizing him.

Within moments, his entire body had turned to stone, then crumbled into dust, carried away by the wind.

"I'm pretty sure I'm not responsible for that," I defended myself.
