Naruto: You Call This A Medical Ninja?

Chapter 519: Chapter 519: Finished, Prepare to Confront the Evil God Cult

The aftermath of the earlier battle was a scene that words struggled to describe. The lone standing member of the Evil God Cult, clutching his scythe, trembled as beads of sweat fell steadily from his forehead. His mind teetered on the edge of collapse.

"Ahhhh!" he screamed, summoning what courage he had left and preparing to charge at Reiki.

But Reiki hadn't even looked his way. Instead, he continued calmly treating the injured cult members on the ground. His utter disregard for the standing ninja was more than any physical attack—it was a psychological blow, a torment worse than death.

The standing cultist watched in horror as Reiki repeatedly brought his companions to the brink of death, only to heal them and do it all over again. The cruel cycle shattered any resolve he might have had.

"If I were you," Reiki said casually, without even looking up, "I'd just stay quiet. I'm not interested in you right now. Instead, think carefully about everything you know about the Evil God Cult. Once I'm done here, you'll be next."

The remaining man's courage evaporated entirely. His trembling legs rooted him to the spot, unable to move.

Hours later, the villagers had packed their belongings and gathered to leave under Reiki's guidance. His efforts to protect them had earned their complete trust. His deeds, from defeating the cultists to preparing a new settlement, had erased their initial wariness of him.

"All right, is everyone here?" Reiki asked, scanning the crowd. "Good. Let's move."

He turned to a particular villager, gesturing to one of the injured cultists he had spared. "Sister Weiweizi, I didn't kill this one. I know his connection to you. I'll let him return to the village for now."

The man, Tianjing Lang, had been a reluctant cultist—a local who had tried to protect Weiweizi and the villagers in his own limited way. Though his actions had often been misunderstood, his intent was clear.

"Tianjing Lang? Is it really you?" Dao Chi exclaimed, rushing forward.

Tianjing Lang knelt, tears streaming down his face. "Yes, it's me," he said, his voice choked with emotion. "I couldn't save everyone, but at least I could try to protect this village. When they came back this time, I knew the village couldn't be saved. I wanted to take Weiweizi away, to let her survive."

Reiki watched the emotional reunion in silence, understanding Tianjing Lang's pain and guilt. But he also knew that the villagers who had been taken were most likely already sacrificed to the cult.

"They're all gone," Tianjing Lang said softly when asked about the others who had been abducted. "Even if some survived, they're not themselves anymore."

The grim reality sank in, casting a shadow over the villagers. But Reiki knew lingering on despair wouldn't help. He urged everyone to move quickly to the new settlement he had prepared.

By nightfall, the villagers had arrived at their new home—a place Reiki had scouted and prepared ahead of time. Fertile fields, clean water sources, and simple shelters awaited them. It was far from luxurious, but it offered safety and a chance to rebuild.

As the villagers settled in, Tianjing Lang approached Reiki. "You're leaving, aren't you? Let me come with you."

"No," Reiki replied firmly. "You're needed here."

"I've already talked to Weiweizi," Tianjing Lang pressed on. "I know she's pregnant. But I want to do something, to fight back. After this, I'll leave the ninja world behind for good. But this will be my last battle."

Reiki sighed and appeared behind Tianjing Lang in an instant. With a swift strike, he knocked him unconscious.

"Good grief," Reiki muttered. "He's practically stacking death flags on himself."

Turning to Weiweizi, Reiki handed her a potion. "Sister Weiweizi, keep this. Don't give it to him until three days have passed. If he wakes up before then, he'll just come after me and get himself killed."

Weiweizi nodded, her eyes filled with gratitude and worry. Reiki gave her a reassuring smile before leaving the village.

As Reiki walked away, the villagers gathered at the edge of the settlement, watching him go. Though he had been with them for only a short time, he had saved their lives and given them hope for a future free from fear.

Reiki's thoughts, however, were already on his next target. Based on the information he had extracted from the cult members, he had pinpointed one of their hideouts.

"They've gone from cautious operations to outright massacres," Reiki thought grimly. "That arrogance will be their downfall."

For Reiki, this was not only a chance to protect others and gain experience but also an opportunity to uncover the truth about the so-called "Evil God." Was it merely a tool of fear, or was there something more sinister at play?

With resolve burning in his eyes, Reiki quickened his pace, prepared to confront the darkness head-on.
