Chapter 141: Chapter 141: Shikotsumyaku—Piercing Burial!

"Hokage-sama, are you planning a rebellion?"

Sarutobi Hiruzen's eyes widened in shock as Mirai's words sank in.

In all his years as Hokage, such an accusation had never crossed his mind, let alone been hurled directly at him.

A Hokage, accused of treason?

The notion was utterly absurd. Yet...

Hiruzen's gaze shifted to the group of clan leaders standing behind Uchiha Mirai.

Despair flashed in his eyes.

These clan heads weren't just ordinary villagers—they were the backbone of Konohagakure. The vast majority of the village's elite shinobi hailed from their ranks.

While no single clan posed a threat to his authority, their unity under Mirai painted a different picture entirely.

For the first time, Sarutobi felt his iron grip on power slipping away.

"Uchiha Mirai, how dare you speak to the Hokage like this?"

"Rebellion? The ones betraying the village are you!"

"The Hokage embodies the will of Konoha. His orders are absolute!"

Mitokado Homura stepped forward, his voice thunderous. His years as an elder had honed an air of authority that demanded attention.

Pointing an accusatory finger ata Mirai, Homura's eyes blazed with fury.

"Hyuga Hiashi, Aburame Shibi, Nara Shikaku… do you all intend to throw your clans' futures away by siding with the Uchiha?"

"Enough," Mirai muttered coldly.

"What did you say?"

"Amaterasu."

Black flames erupted and engulfed Homura instantly. His agonized screams echoed through the room as he collapsed, writhing in pain.

Two guards rushed forward in an attempt to douse the flames, but the moment the fire touched them, it began to spread.

The flames devoured everything—clothes, skin, and even the earth beneath their feet—leaving nothing untouched. Water and sand proved futile against the inferno.

The gathered crowd instinctively stepped back, their faces pale.

In moments, Homura and his guards were reduced to smoldering charcoal. Yet, the black flames continued to dance, a haunting presence in the clearing.

An eerie silence fell.

No one had anticipated that Mirai would go so far, killing a Hokage advisor without hesitation.

"Uchiha Mirai, you're courting death!"

Enraged by the death of their clan head, a dozen Mitokado elites drew their weapons and charged.

Unmoved, Mirai calmly raised his arm, spreading his fingers wide.

"Shikotsumyaku: Ten-Finger Bullets."

Hundreds of tiny bone projectiles rained down, tearing through the attackers with precision.

Mirai lowered his hand, holding two fingers in a familiar seal.

"Shikotsumyaku: Piercing Burial."

Squelch! Squelch!

Sharp, unrelenting bone spikes erupted from within the Mitokado shinobi, skewering them like pincushions. Blood pooled at their feet as they crumpled to the ground.

The onlookers drew sharp breaths.

It was too brutal.

Too efficient.

Too overwhelming.

These weren't ordinary foot soldiers. The Mitokado shinobi were highly skilled, with some among them being seasoned jonin. Yet they had been annihilated as if they were nothing.

Koharu Utatane, who had been mustering the courage to launch her own attack, froze.

Mirai was nothing like their previous adversaries. He was a madman—utterly unrestrained and unbothered by titles or authority.

A lunatic with devastating power.

[ Ding! Congratulations to the host… ]

As the system alerts rang in his mind, Mirai's lips curled into a satisfied smirk.

The jutsu he had just used was an innovation, inspired by the Wood Release: Cutting Sprigs Technique. By launching bone bullets into his enemies' bodies and then sprouting spikes from within, the results were devastating.

The technique had performed beyond expectations.

"Minato go after Uchiha Mirai!" Hiruzen ordered, turning to Namikaze Minato, his last hope.

Of all his subordinates, only Minato might stand a chance against Mirai. Even if he couldn't win outright, he could exhaust Mirai's chakra and stamina, tilting the scales in Hiruzen's favor.

But to Hiruzen's shock, Minato activated the Flying Thunder God Technique and teleported away from his side.

"Minato! What's the meaning of this?!"

For once, Minato's expression was uncharacteristically grim.

"Third-sama, I cannot obey your command."

Though simple in nature, Minato wasn't blind to the truth.

The Hokage's secret experiments on fellow villagers had shattered the foundation of trust.

A Hokage who had lost the village's support was no longer a Hokage.

More importantly, Hiruzen's actions had violated the Will of Fire itself. Minato would not become his accomplice.

"Traitor!" Hiruzen cursed, the betrayal nearly causing him to spit blood.

This must be what it feels like to be truly abandoned by everyone, he thought bitterly.

"What do we do now, Hiruzen?"

Koharu, trembling with fear, clung to the Third's shadow. She hadn't felt this vulnerable in years.

Hiruzen threw his pipe to the ground, stepping forward to confront Mirai directly.

"If the Hokage's dignity must be upheld, then I'll do it myself!"

"Let's see if anyone dares raise a hand against me!"

The clan leaders hesitated.

Even now, Hiruzen held the title of Hokage. While they could undermine his authority, attacking him outright crossed a dangerous line.

Hiruzen smirked at their hesitation.

Got you.

But Mirai cared little for such nuances.

When Hiruzen reached out to grab him, Mirai responded with a swift front kick.

Boom!

The Hokage was sent flying.

As Hiruzen struggled to stand, Mirai cracked his neck and said coldly, "If you're so set in your ways, Third, then I'll personally escort you to the Konoha Police Force and throw you in a cell for a long, long time."
