Chapter 196: Chapter 194: Crushing Opposition

Chapter 194: Crushing Opposition

Thousands of kilometers away.

The Land of Craftsmen.

In a central valley.

Here lay the hidden Craftsmen Ninja Village, renowned throughout the ninja world for its unparalleled forging techniques. Unlike traditional ninja villages, this one exuded a vibrant and lively atmosphere. Almost every household had a chimney in its courtyard.

In the Craftsmen Ninja Village, even those who couldn't become ninja artisans often chose to become blacksmiths. It was their way of life.

On a regular day, the clang of hammers never ceased.

But today was different. The constant rhythmic pounding was absent.

The village was eerily quiet, a stifling tension filling the air, as if something ominous was brewing.

Indeed, trouble was afoot.

Recently, a faction led by the Four Celestial Symbols Men accused the village leader, Fukuoka, of acting strangely and disregarding the village's best interests. Publicly, they demanded an explanation.

However, their words carried thinly veiled accusations of treason, claiming Fukuoka had betrayed the Craftsmen Ninja Village.

Fukuoka denied the allegations, countering that the Four Celestial Symbols Men were conspiring with external forces to stage a coup. He called on the villagers to rise against the would-be rebels.

But few rallied to his side.

Fukuoka's recent behavior—spending a fortune to acquire chakra-conducting metal without explaining its purpose—had aroused suspicion among the villagers.

His actions not only puzzled the ninja of his village but also attracted the attention of neighboring ninja villages.

This high-profile behavior, so at odds with the usual cautious tactics of small ninja villages, made many hesitate to take a side.

The situation devolved into a standoff between Fukuoka's loyalists and the faction led by the Four Celestial Symbols Men.

The villagers, fearful of being caught in the crossfire, stayed indoors, leaving the once-busy streets deserted.

Yet, as time passed, the balance tipped toward the Four Celestial Symbols Men. More and more ninja joined their ranks, swayed by their accusations.

Without outside intervention, the Craftsmen Ninja Village would likely face a regime change.

But the Four Celestial Symbols Men had unwittingly blocked Baishi's plans.

And for that, they would pay dearly.

Craftsmen Ninja Village – Fukuoka's Residence

A group of loyalists, led by several ninja implanted with Baishi's Mental Seed, guarded the village leader's residence.

Though many villagers chose to remain neutral, a small number still stood unwaveringly by Fukuoka's side, ensuring he was not entirely isolated.

"Yamaki, what's the situation outside?"

Yamaki, one of Fukuoka's most trusted subordinates, shook his head grimly. "Sir, it doesn't look good. It seems they're preparing for a full assault."

"Is that so..."

Fukuoka fell silent, deep in thought.

Yamaki hesitated, seemingly wanting to speak, but he ultimately held back.

Earlier, Fukuoka had ordered everyone to hold their ground and wait.

Wait for what?

Reinforcements?

Were reinforcements even a possibility at this point?

As Yamaki wrestled with his doubts, a shadow flickered behind Fukuoka—a stranger, an unfamiliar figure.

Alarmed, Yamaki acted instinctively. Without hesitation, he hurled a kunai directly at the intruder's eyes while shouting, "Sir, watch out!"

The kunai streaked toward the figure, but Baishi, the unexpected visitor, caught it effortlessly between two fingers.

Unperturbed, Baishi glanced at Yamaki, his eyes betraying mild amusement.

Hearing Yamaki's warning, Fukuoka finally noticed Baishi's presence. Recognizing him immediately, Fukuoka bowed deeply. "My lord, you've arrived!"

The words sent shockwaves through the room.

What did he just say?

'My lord'?!

The loyalists froze in disbelief, their faces contorted with a mix of confusion and anger.

Many had sided with Fukuoka because they believed in him. But now...

Had the leader they respected truly betrayed them?

Their initial respect morphed into seething hatred.

"AAAAH!"

Yamaki roared, his emotions boiling over. With a mighty leap, he shattered the floor beneath him and launched himself at Fukuoka, his fist ready to strike.

Fukuoka, only a mid-level ninja, lacked the reflexes to react to Yamaki's rage-fueled attack.

But Baishi was different.

To him, Yamaki's movements were as sluggish as a crawling snail.

Baishi released a pulse of spiritual energy, unleashing his modified Mind-Body Clone Technique, halting Yamaki mid-strike.

The room fell silent.

Baishi walked calmly to Fukuoka's side and placed a finger on Yamaki's forehead.

A silver light flashed briefly as Baishi implanted his upgraded Mental Seed.

"You still have your uses. I can't let you die here," Baishi remarked, his tone flat, as though commenting on the weather.

The remaining loyalists exchanged uneasy glances before bolting for the exit.

Facing Baishi head-on was futile, and they knew it.

But Baishi had come to settle this matter and wasn't about to let them escape.

He let out a cold hum, sending a low-frequency subsonic wave rippling through the air.

One by one, the fleeing ninja collapsed, unconscious before they could take another step.

"What... what kind of jutsu is this?"

Fukuoka stared wide-eyed as Baishi incapacitated everyone effortlessly.

"Subsonic waves," Baishi replied nonchalantly. Then, turning to his mind-controlled guards, he ordered, "Bring them all here."

"Yes, my lord!"

The guards quickly gathered the unconscious ninja.

Minutes later, Baishi implanted Mental Seeds in each of them, layering additional seals for good measure.

Once the task was done, he turned to Fukuoka. "Now, explain the situation to me in detail."

"Yes, my lord!" Fukuoka promptly recounted the village's predicament.

Baishi frowned upon hearing the full story. The situation was far worse than he had anticipated.

While the Four Celestial Symbols Men led the rebellion, Fukuoka suspected outside interference, possibly from a major ninja village.

Baishi's thoughts drifted to his earlier conflict with Iwagakure in the Land of Craftsmen. Could they be the ones pulling the strings?

It wouldn't be out of character for Onoki, the Third Tsuchikage.

Baishi recalled how Onoki had previously orchestrated raids within the Land of Fire to sow chaos. This could very well be another one of his schemes.

"Regardless of who's behind this, I'll take care of it," Baishi murmured.

With that, he summoned four wood clones.

"You all know what to do. Go."

"Yes."

The clones disappeared in a flash.

Moments later, four glowing barriers rose around the village, forming a Four Symbols Sealing Array that enclosed the entire area.

From his vantage point, Baishi observed the panicked reactions below.

A group of four ninja—three men and one woman—soon appeared, armed and ready.

Baishi recognized them instantly as the Four Celestial Symbols Men.

One carried a pair of green-bladed swords—likely the Peacock Twin Swords.

Another wore a tiger-headed armor, the Infinite Peacock Armor.

The remaining two wielded standard kunai, indicating their signature weapons had yet to be forged.

"What's the meaning of this? Who are you?" the woman demanded.

Baishi didn't bother answering.

With a faint smile, he unfurled his Wind Wings and took to the skies, a faint azure aura enveloping him.

"Time to end this," he muttered.

A barrage of wind blades from the woman streaked toward him, followed by attacks from her companions.

Baishi didn't flinch. The attacks dissipated harmlessly against his Chakra Cloak.

His eyes scanned the battlefield below.

"Enough."

Releasing a pulse of chakra, Baishi unleashed a massive subsonic wave that resonated through the area.

The Four Celestial Symbols Men and their allies crumpled to the ground one after another.

In mere moments, the rebellion was over.
