My Hero Academia: Nightmare Mode

Chapter 47: Wrong order

One week had passed since that strange conversation with Toga, where she had suggested they "play." Kikidori, while still unsure what she meant at the time, never thought it would lead to something quite like this. He'd assumed it was just some playful tease, something to get his heart racing and keep him on his toes. But life, as it often did, had other plans.

Kikidori had been lounging on the couch, scrolling through his phone and casually glancing at the messages flooding the Class 1-A group chat. Everyone was busy with their own lives—Todoroki was talking about his recent missions, Momo was sharing some insights about the latest hero work, and Bakugo was, of course, grumbling about something.

Toga had been unusually quiet that day, but Kikidori didn't think much of it. Maybe she was out causing her usual brand of chaos or off doing something she didn't want to tell him about. He had gotten used to her unpredictable nature by now.

However, his peaceful evening was interrupted when the door to his apartment creaked open, and there stood Toga, her usual mischievous grin replaced with a more serious expression. In her hand, she held something that made Kikidori's heart skip a beat.

She walked over to him with slow, deliberate steps. "Kikidori," she began, her voice uncharacteristically calm. "We need to talk."

Kikidori frowned, his curiosity piqued. He set his phone down and looked at her, sensing something was off. "What's up? You seem... different."

Toga hesitated for a moment before holding out the small, pink plastic stick in her hand. Kikidori's eyes widened when he saw what it was—a positive pregnancy test.

Toga's gaze didn't waver from his as she waited for him to process the situation.

Kikidori blinked a few times, trying to make sense of what he was seeing. His mind raced, flashing back to that conversation they had a week ago. Suddenly, everything clicked.

His face flushed with realization and panic. "Wait... what...?" His voice cracked slightly. "Are you—?"

Toga simply nodded, her eyes soft but filled with something Kikidori couldn't quite place. "Yeah, Kikidori. I'm pregnant."

The words hung in the air like a heavy fog, and Kikidori sat there for a moment, utterly stunned. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, his brain working overtime to process what she had just said. Pregnant? With his child? It didn't seem real.

He stood up suddenly, pacing in a circle, running his hands through his hair as he tried to think. "I... I don't know what to say."

Toga took a step closer, placing the pregnancy test gently on the coffee table before grabbing his hands and stopping him from pacing. "You don't have to say anything right now. I just wanted you to know." Her voice was soft, but there was an intensity behind it. "I'm not asking for anything from you... well, not right now. I just thought you should know."

Kikidori was still reeling. He had never thought his life would take such an unexpected turn, and now everything seemed to be shifting beneath him. Being a hero, navigating his relationships, his complex feelings for Toga—it all felt so much more complicated now. He never imagined this would be the path he'd find himself on.

"What... what are we going to do?" Kikidori muttered, almost more to himself than to Toga. His thoughts were racing, trying to think about the future, about the responsibilities that now lay in front of him.

Toga reached out, brushing a strand of hair from his face, her touch soft and gentle. "We'll figure it out, Kikidori. Together. We've been through a lot, and I know this is a lot to handle. But I'm not scared. I'm with you."

Kikidori looked into her eyes, seeing the sincerity in her expression. Despite everything, despite how chaotic their relationship had been, Toga had always been there for him in her own way. And now, it seemed that they were going to face this new chapter together.

"I guess... I guess we will," Kikidori said quietly, nodding slowly. His heart was still racing, but there was a sense of acceptance growing within him. It wasn't going to be easy, but maybe—just maybe—they could figure it out.

Toga smiled softly, her mischievous side returning just a little. "You're not going to freak out, are you?"

Kikidori shook his head, finally letting out a nervous chuckle. "I'm freaking out, but not in the way you think. This is just... a lot to process."

"Take all the time you need," Toga said with a playful wink. "I'll be here, either way."

Kikidori let out a breath, feeling a strange sense of calm washing over him despite the uncertainty. As he stood there, hand still held in Toga's, he couldn't help but wonder what this new chapter would bring. The future felt unpredictable, but he wasn't facing it alone. And for now, that was enough.
