Chapter 43: Wedding Bliss and Chaos
The wedding venue was breathtaking. The UA students and pro heroes had truly outdone themselves. Fairy lights hung between the trees, petals were scattered along the aisle, and a soft melody played in the background. Kikidori sat near the front, dressed sharply in a black suit. He had been seated next to Momo, who was holding hands with Todoroki. The two were unmistakably a couple, their subtle gestures of affection speaking volumes.
Kikidori leaned back in his chair, silently observing the scene around him. Weddings weren't really his thing, but seeing his former classmates together again made him feel a flicker of warmth. However, his calm demeanor was interrupted by Mineta, who, as usual, was being his perverted self.
"Seriously, Mineta?" Kikidori muttered, glaring as Mineta tried to angle himself for a better view of the bridesmaids. "It's a wedding, not your personal show. Act like a human being for once."
Momo sighed, her patience wearing thin. "Mineta, if you don't behave, I'll create something to glue you to your chair permanently."
Todoroki chimed in, his voice deadpan. "You'd deserve it."
Mineta slumped back, muttering something about no one appreciating his "charm."
The ceremony began, and all eyes turned to the aisle as the music shifted. Ochako appeared, walking arm-in-arm with Mina, who beamed with excitement. Ochako looked radiant, her dress flowing elegantly behind her. Deku, standing at the altar, was a nervous wreck. His face was bright red, almost matching the crimson in Todoroki's hair. Kikidori couldn't help but think, *He's going to pass out before this is over.*
As Ochako reached the end of the aisle, she took her place beside Deku, whose flustered expression only deepened. Mina gave Deku an exaggerated thumbs-up before stepping back. Kikidori glanced at Momo, who whispered, "This is sweet, isn't it?"
"Sure," Kikidori replied, though his tone remained indifferent.
The ceremony continued, with the priest going through the traditional vows. Kikidori tuned out most of it, his mind wandering, until the priest said the words:
"If anyone objects to this union, speak now or forever hold your peace."
Without thinking, Kikidori raised his hand.
The entire crowd froze. All eyes turned to him, including Ochako's, who looked both shocked and hurt.
"What are you doing?!" Momo hissed, elbowing him.
"I just have a question," Kikidori said calmly, unfazed by the tension he'd just created.
Ochako's eyes darted to Deku, her voice shaking. "Wait… are you objecting?!"
"No," Kikidori said flatly. "I just wanted to ask if the cake is chocolate or vanilla."
A collective groan erupted from the crowd, with Mina bursting into laughter. Ochako visibly relaxed but still looked confused. Deku let out a nervous chuckle, scratching the back of his neck.
"Maybe save the cake questions for after the ceremony?" the priest suggested, trying to steer things back on track.
Kikidori shrugged. "Fair enough."
The ceremony resumed, and finally, the moment everyone was waiting for arrived. Deku and Ochako exchanged vows, their voices trembling with emotion. When the priest announced, "You may now kiss the bride," Deku hesitated for a moment before leaning in.
The kiss was sweet, tender—and immediately chaotic.
Ochako, in her excitement, had forgotten to wear her gloves. The moment their lips touched, Deku began to float into the air, his feet leaving the ground.
The crowd gasped, and Todoroki stood, ready to intervene, but Kikidori moved first. With an unhurried, almost bored expression, he walked to the altar, grabbed Deku by his tie, and pulled him back down to earth.
"Maybe don't defy gravity at your own wedding," Kikidori said dryly as he set Deku back on the ground.
Ochako, realizing what had happened, quickly touched Deku's shoulders, canceling her quirk. Her face turned scarlet with embarrassment, and she muttered, "I'm so sorry!"
Deku just laughed nervously, scratching his head. "It's okay… at least it was memorable."
The ceremony concluded without further interruptions, and the crowd erupted into cheers. As Deku and Ochako walked back down the aisle, hand in hand, Kikidori returned to his seat.
Mina leaned over, grinning. "You know, you kinda saved the day. Again."
Kikidori shrugged. "It's what I do."
As the reception began, Kikidori couldn't help but think that, despite the chaos, this wedding was undeniably... unique.
