Chapter 59: Rewards III

Leon looked at the list of skills, his eyes lingering on Tandav – Dance of Destruction. The idea of dancing while fighting initially struck him as odd, but as he examined the skill closely, he realized it wasn't traditional dancing—it was a series of precise and deadly movements designed to maximize destruction with the trident.

Skill: Tandav – Dance of Destruction

Type: Active Skill

Description: A divine dance-like combat technique that blends fluid movements with devastating attacks. The user channels their rage and divine energy into rhythmic sequences, striking with overwhelming force and precision. Each step and strike amplifies the damage caused by the trident, creating shockwaves and destruction in a wide radius.

Momentum Amplification: For every second the dance remains uninterrupted, the user's attack power increases by 1%, stacking up to a maximum of 100%. Upon interruption, the boost resets.

Skills of the Divine Trident Dance

1. Heavenly Ripple Slash

Effect: The user slams their trident into the ground mid-dance, releasing a ripple of divine energy.

Damage: Deals 1500% of the user's base attack as AoE damage within a 15-meter radius along with knock back effect.

Additional Effects: Slows enemies' movement speed by 30% and reduces their defense by 10% for 5 seconds.

Mana Cost: 20% of total mana.

Cooldown: 15 seconds.

2. Celestial Wrath Strike

Effect: A devastating finishing move where the user channels all accumulated power into a single trident thrust. This attack pierces through enemies, leaving a path of destruction.

Damage: Deals 4000% of the user's base attack in a straight line over 30 meters.

Additional Effects: Leaves a burning trail that deals 10% of the user's base attack as DoT(Damage over Time) for 5 seconds to all enemies within the line of attack.

Mana Cost: 50% of total mana.

Cooldown: 45 seconds.]

Leon noted that the movements resembled a sword dance, a fighting style designed for agility and elegance, but here adapted for a trident. The thought of combining such grace with sheer destructive power intrigued him. He envisioned himself wielding the trident in smooth, sweeping arcs, unleashing shockwaves and obliterating everything in his path.

"It's not so much a dance as it is a flow of combat," Leon murmured. "Each movement feeds into the next, creating an unstoppable rhythm."

Roselia, watching him, said with curiosity, "So, you're planning to fight… while dancing?"

Leon smirked. "It's not the kind of dance you're thinking of. It's like… a blacksmith shaping metal. Each strike is calculated, each movement deliberate. The difference is, instead of a sword or hammer, I'll be wielding a trident."

Roselia's lips twitched into a faint smile. "Sounds poetic, in a way. But if you master it, it will be an powerful move"

Leon looked at the Trident of Destruction in his hand, its golden runes glowing faintly. "It's going to take time," he admitted, "but if I can master this… I'll turn battles into something no one will forget."

He set the trident down and glanced at the other skills, but Tandav had already taken root in his mind. A combination of power and elegance—destruction and artistry. It suited him perfectly.

[ Host, a new path has become available for your Primary Class, ] Cherry's voice chimed in, interrupting Leon's examination of his skills.

[ Path: Sage of Destruction

The Sage of Destruction represents the wisdom and calm aspect of Lord Shiva, combining immense magical prowess with unmatched mana regeneration. While destruction is still the core of its power, it is tempered with insight, precision, and mastery over destructive forces.]

Leon raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Sage of Destruction, huh?" he muttered to himself. "So it's another of Lord Shiva aspect."

Sage of Destruction – Features and Skills

Divine Insight (Passive): Enhances the user's understanding of magic and combat strategies. Increases intelligence and wisdom stats by 50% and grants a clearer perception of enemy weaknesses.

Mana Surge (Passive): Doubles mana regeneration speed, allowing prolonged use of high-cost skills without exhaustion.

Pralaya – End of Worlds (Active): A devastating magical skill that unleashes waves of destructive energy in a wide area, erasing everything in its path. Scales with intelligence and mana reserves.

Sanctified Calm (Passive): Allows the user to remain calm and collected in high-pressure situations, resisting mental manipulation and fear-inducing effects.

Divine Harmony (Active): Temporarily amplifies all magical abilities and enhances mana efficiency by 500% for a short duration.

"Interesting," Leon mused. "This path seems to focus more on magical and mental mastery, compared to the raw physical destruction of the Berserker." He glanced at the Tandav – Dance of Destruction skill. "Though, I wonder how well it would combine with the Sage's abilities?"

Cherry added, [ Host, the Sage of Destruction path is unique. It balances destructive power with control, making it ideal for someone who seeks to dominate battles through both strategy and overwhelming force. ]

Leon nodded thoughtfully. "It sounds like a path that could complement the Berserker well. If I can manage both destruction and wisdom…" His lips curled into a grin. "I'd be unstoppable."

"Well, this is good," Leon nodded as he finalized his selection of the Sage of Destruction path for his first class.

"By the way, why was it unlocked now?" he asked after making his choice. Cherry responded promptly.

[ The Paradox Mage skill allows the host to unlock all paths that align with the host's attunement. After obtaining the Body of Destruction, the Sage of Destruction path became accessible. ] Cherry explained.

"Great," Leon mumbled as he checked his updated status screen. His first class was now the magical-type Sage of Destruction, while his second was the physical-type World Destroying Berserker.

"Both sides of the coin," he muttered to himself with a smirk, admiring the balance between magic and raw physical power. Then, he turned his attention to the next rewards: the three random items— a class-related weapon, a skill, and a pet.

"Open all three items!" he commanded eagerly. The Challenger System began processing his request.

{Congratulations, Challenger, on obtaining the item: Axe of Devastation (Mythical).}

Leon nodded seeing this as he shifted his focus on last one, the beautiful blue scaled egg.

Leon held the glimmering egg in his hands, its surface smooth and radiating a faint blue glow. Intricate patterns resembling lightning streaks danced across the shell, giving it an almost ethereal beauty. Taking a deep breath, he pricked his finger with a sharp blade, allowing a single drop of blood to fall onto the egg.

As soon as his blood touched the surface, the egg pulsed with life, emitting a soft, melodic hum. Fine cracks began to appear, spreading rapidly as the egg started to hatch. A radiant light burst forth, momentarily blinding Leon. When the glow subsided, he found a tiny creature in his palm.

The newborn Naga was breathtaking. Her upper body resembled that of a young girl, with delicate features and long, shimmering hair cascading down her back. Her lower half transitioned seamlessly into a serpent's tail, covered in iridescent, jewel-like scales that sparkled with shades of sapphire and silver. Her tiny form barely filled Leon's palm, fragile and precious.

The little Naga blinked her large, gem-like eyes, their vibrant blue hue holding a hint of curiosity. She tilted her head as she gazed up at Leon, her expression innocent and unguarded. Then, with a soft cooing sound, she slithered closer and wrapped her tiny arms around one of his fingers, holding it tightly in a baby-like embrace.

Leon couldn't help but smile, his heart softening at the sight of her. "So, this is my new companion," he said gently, his voice warm. He could feel the faint pulse of her tiny heart and the warmth of her fragile body against his skin.

The Naga looked up again, her intelligence clearly undeveloped but her affection undeniable. Like a newborn, she clung to Leon, seeking comfort and security in his presence.

"She's just a baby," he murmured, marveling at her delicate form. "No combat abilities yet, but she's perfect as she is."

The little Naga made a soft, chirping sound, seemingly understanding his words. Leon's smile deepened. "Don't worry, little one. I'll take care of you and help you grow into your potential."

As he watched her snuggle into his palm, Leon felt a surge of determination. This small, innocent creature might one day become a force to be reckoned with, but for now, she was a reminder of the gentler, purer aspects of life in a world full of chaos.
