Chapter 60: 1st Floor

Seeing the little Naga nestled in Leon's palm, Roselia stepped closer, her curiosity piqued. Gently, she extended a finger to pat the tiny creature. The newborn Naga squealed with delight, her gem-like eyes sparkling as she wriggled happily at the attention.

"What does she eat?" Roselia asked, watching the Naga's joyful reaction.

Leon chuckled softly. "They're primarily fruit eaters," he explained. "The Naga race might have a serpent-like appearance, but they're predominantly herbivores. They value nature deeply and avoid harming it unnecessarily."

Roselia raised an eyebrow. "So, they don't eat meat at all?"

"Well, it's not that they can't eat meat," Leon clarified, "but most of them prefer not to. They're one of the most peaceful races you'll find in the Tower. But if someone mistakes their peaceful nature for weakness…" He smirked knowingly. "Let's just say they quickly realize their mistake. The Naga are mythical beings, after all. Their strength isn't something to underestimate."

Roselia nodded thoughtfully, her gaze shifting back to the little Naga. "I can already sense her power, even though she's just a newborn," she said, her tone laced with awe.

Leon nodded in agreement. "That's because every Naga is born with an elemental affinity—at least one. The more elements they wield, the stronger they are. The Naga King, for instance, commands nine elements."

Roselia's eyes widened slightly. "Nine elements? That's incredible. What about her?" She gestured toward the baby Naga clinging to Leon's finger.

"She has two elements: water and lightning," Leon replied, glancing at the tiny creature, who chirped softly as if proud of her abilities. "It's a rare and powerful combination. She may only have two, but it's more than enough for her to grow into something extraordinary."

Roselia leaned closer, her expression softening. "She's beautiful. And it's clear she already adores you."

Leon smiled, watching the baby Naga nuzzle against his palm. "Yeah," he said quietly, "and I'll make sure she has everything she needs to thrive."

"Why don't you open your egg too?" Leon suggested, nodding toward the second egg as he watched Roselia.

Roselia nodded back, her curiosity piqued. She carefully placed the egg on the table and bit her finger, letting a drop of blood fall onto its smooth surface. The egg absorbed the blood instantly, and faint cracks began to spiderweb across its surface.

A moment later, the shell broke apart, revealing a small, black-scaled dragon with red-tipped scales. It blinked its glowing eyes and let out a soft squeak, looking up at Roselia with curious innocence.

"Hm, it's a Black Volcanic Dragon," Leon said, studying its features with an approving glance.

"That name sounds powerful," Roselia said with a smile as the baby dragon clambered onto her hand. Having absorbed her blood, it already saw her as its mother—just as the little Naga saw Leon as its father.

"They are powerful," Leon explained. "Black Volcanic Dragons are renowned for their immense strength and magical prowess. They're a rare breed, capable of incredible destruction but also known for their loyalty to those they bond with."

Roselia cradled the tiny dragon in her palm, stroking its scales gently while it made soft chirping sounds. Her eyes softened as she admired the creature's beauty and strength.

"I'll take good care of you," she murmured, then smiled warmly. "From now on, your name is... Vulcan."

The baby dragon let out an excited squeak, seeming to approve of its name as it nuzzled against her fingers.

Leon chuckled. "Vulcan suits him perfectly. He's bound to grow into something extraordinary."

Roselia nodded, determination flickering in her eyes as she continued to cradle the tiny dragon. "I'll make sure of it."

Leon smiled gently as he glanced at the baby Naga resting in his hand. "Your name will be Raiden," he said softly.

The tiny Naga looked up at him, her jewel-like eyes blinking in curiosity. Her small serpent-like tail remained coiled around his wrist, and her little arms hugged his thumb tightly. Despite his words, it was clear she didn't quite understand what he meant.

"It's okay," Leon said reassuringly, his voice warm. He picked up a ripe fruit from a nearby table and peeled it with careful precision. The sweet aroma filled the air as he broke the fruit into smaller pieces.

Holding out a piece to her, he smiled as he gently brought it closer. Raiden's eyes widened at the sight and scent of the sweet pulp. Tentatively, she opened her tiny mouth and took a bite, savoring the juicy treat.

Her delight was unmistakable—her eyes sparkled as she eagerly nibbled at the fruit, piece by piece, her movements quick and full of excitement.

Leon chuckled at her reaction. "You like that, huh? There's plenty more for you."

Watching the small Naga's enthusiasm, Leon felt a sense of warmth and responsibility grow within him.

After feeding Raiden and watching her fall into a peaceful sleep, Leon carefully placed her on his bed. The little Naga coiled slightly in her slumber, a soft smile on her tiny face as she dreamed. Stretching his arms, Leon murmured, "Well, time to head to the First Floor of the Tower."

Roselia, sitting nearby, nodded as she watched over the baby Naga. "You can go. I'll take care of her," she said, her tone gentle yet resolute. Leon smiled at her, grateful for her support.

"Thanks," he said, grabbing his gear and making sure everything was in place. He secured his weapons, adjusted his armor, and took a deep breath. As he turned to leave, Roselia gave him a light nudge on the shoulder, smirking faintly.

"Don't get reckless," she teased.

Leon chuckled. "I'll try," he replied, stepping out of the room as he entered the portal.

The Tower's entrance bustled with activity as challengers from various races prepared for their journeys. The sight of so many beings gathered in one place was astounding. Elves with their graceful movements, beastmen with ears twitching atop their heads, and even lizardfolk carrying ornate spears walked past him. Among them were members of the rare Pandorian race, whose radiant skin seemed to shimmer under the light.

Leon paused to take it all in. He hadn't yet encountered this many diverse individuals since entering the Tower.

As he approached a large, ornate sign, he read the inscription carved into its surface:

"Welcome to the Beginner's Town."

The letters glowed faintly, a magical shimmer indicating its importance.

"So this is where every journey begins," Leon muttered to himself, his eyes scanning the bustling streets ahead. Despite its name, the town had an air of mystery and potential. It was a place where the first steps of every climber's journey were set, and where countless stories began.

Taking a deep breath, Leon walked forward, ready to start his next adventure.
