MHA Dungeon Master

Chapter 42: Sincere Declaration

A month had passed, and the digital honeymoon between Clone Himaru and Uraraka Ochako reached its peak. Their phone screens were silent witnesses to thousands of exchanged messages, from funny emojis to corny memes that only the two of them understood. However, behind the sweet interactions shown to Uraraka, Clone Himaru's mind had already set sail for a more challenging port: Toga Himiko.

"Toga Himiko…," Clone Himaru murmured, his eyes fixed on Toga's profile picture displayed on the main body's smartphone. The difficulty level was drastically increasing. Uraraka, with her innocence, was more like a koi fish in a calm pond, but Toga… she was a fierce predator, ready to pounce back, sting, and even tear apart the nets of anyone who tried to ensnare her.

The main body's memories informed him that within this timeframe, Toga should have begun to show cracks in her sanity, the seeds of madness ready to erupt into her first criminal acts. However, this world was not the same canvas. Toga Himiko's brief encounter with little Himaru in the past had created unexpected ripples, altering the original future of this world.

In this parallel world, Toga did not have a 'loved one'—an object of obsession that became the catalyst for her madness. Quite the opposite, the interaction with little Himaru had planted seeds of admiration, perhaps even seeds of love, in the dark recesses of Toga's heart. As Toga had once expressed in the original canon, affection could bloom for her in the blink of an eye. And Himaru, even as a mere childhood memory, had managed to capture the girl's attention.

Moreover, Himaru's main body, although only sending brief messages on social media, was surprisingly consistent, keeping the embers of connection with Toga alive. These messages, to Toga's isolated and marginalized soul, felt like an oasis in a desert of loneliness. An acknowledgment that she was seen, that she was noticed.

If Clone Himaru could read the depth of Toga's feelings for him, perhaps he would have charged in without hesitation, casting his net of charm without much extra thought. However, it was precisely this ignorance that acted as a brake for him, making him more cautious. "I must not be reckless," Clone Himaru thought to himself, his brain beginning to weave a strategy. "Toga is not a standard prey. So I must devise a meticulous, step-by-step plan."

Clone Himaru's plan this time, although seemingly simple on the surface, required the perfect 'bait': Uraraka Ochako. The key was to ensure Uraraka was completely caught in his net first, making the angelic girl a golden bridge to approach Toga.

His fingers danced across the phone screen, opening the Spontagram app, searching for Toga Himiko's contact name. With a slightly trembling thumb, he typed a short message, "Himiko-san, how are you today?" Seconds stretched into eternity before a reply notification appeared. "I'm good! How about Yūsha-kun?"

"Good," Clone Himaru replied briefly, maintaining an air of mystery. He knew, opening up too quickly was not a wise move. Toga, based on the data he had collected, was a girl who kept her emotions tightly locked away, especially negative emotions and vulnerabilities. "What activities are you busy with?" Clone Himaru asked, trying to elicit a deeper conversation.

"Not busy with anything," Toga replied curtly. But this time, there was a palpable pause in the text response, as if Toga was hesitant or thinking.

Clone Himaru frowned slightly, confusion reflected on his forehead. He almost couldn't believe Toga was really 'okay'. According to the psychological profile analysis he had learned from the main body's memories, Toga should be on the edge of emotional collapse, on the verge of a destructive 'explosion'. "Toga… if you're really not busy, may I ask a small favor?" Clone Himaru typed, his fingers dancing again on the virtual keyboard. "You know my band, 'The Clones', right?"

"Yes! I really love your songs!" Toga's reply this time was much more enthusiastic, her words spirited, and most importantly, there was a small pink heart emoji slipped at the end of the sentence.

"Well, here's the thing, I'm pioneering the formation of an official fan group for 'The Clones' on the 'Disquad' platform (sort of like this world's Discord)," Clone Himaru asked, diving straight to the core of his plan.

"Disquad?" Toga sounded curious, "Fan group?"

"That's right," Clone Himaru replied, trying to inject enthusiasm into every word. "I need a few admins to help manage this group. Would you like to be one of the admins? If it's you, I can fully entrust the group's order and dynamics to you."

He added another reason that sounded more convincing, "Especially if there are riots or disputes between fans, I need an admin who is capable of mediating and calming the atmosphere. You seem like a very reliable person for this kind of thing."

Toga thought for a moment, evident from the 'typing' indicator that appeared and disappeared several times. Finally, the awaited answer came. "Admin huh… okay, sure! Sounds quite interesting."

"Okay, great! I'll introduce you to the other admins later. Coincidentally, Uraraka is also in this admin group," Clone Himaru typed, deliberately mentioning Uraraka's name. This was a key move, a pawn ready to be moved in his psychological chess game.

Previously, with the skill of a master manipulator, Clone Himaru had already 'confided' in Uraraka about a 'friend' who might be experiencing severe emotional distress. He vaguely recounted the 'problems' Toga was facing, the side effects of her quirk that made her obsessed with blood—and Toga's parents' lack of understanding of her condition. "Poor friend of yours, Himaru-kun," Uraraka commented in a voice full of sympathy and gentleness. "The burden of life she has to bear must be very heavy."

"Yes, that's why I really want to help her as much as possible," Clone Himaru replied, playing the role of a flawless hero.

Uraraka, with a heart made of pure gold, readily agreed to get involved. "That's a very good idea, Himaru-kun! I want to help your friend too. Later when she joins the group, I'll immediately invite her to chat and become friends. Let's create a special admin chat group that only includes you, Toga-san, and me, so it's easier if we want to discuss something important or personal."

"Thank you so much, Uraraka-san! You are indeed a helping angel sent by God," Clone Himaru praised, his smile widening with satisfaction, full of calculation. 'Uraraka bait is ready to use. The second net will soon be perfectly installed.'

Clone Himaru's plan proceeded smoothly without obstacles. Toga Himiko quickly joined the newly created Disquad group, and Clone Himaru promptly introduced Toga to Uraraka as fellow group admins.

Initially, Toga seemed a bit awkward and distant in the chat group, minimal interaction, and tended to be passive. However, Uraraka, with her cheerful, warm, and sociable nature, slowly but surely managed to melt the frozen atmosphere. The two of them began to engage in more intense conversations in the group, discussing everything from the band 'The Clones', exchanging viral internet memes, to occasionally sharing lighthearted stories about their daily lives and personal things that weren't too deep.

Clone Himaru patiently observed the development of Uraraka and Toga's relationship from behind his smartphone screen. More than a month passed quickly, and he saw the bond of friendship between Uraraka and Toga growing stronger. They were no longer just fellow group admins, but had begun to show signs of genuine friendship. "The time has come to harvest," Clone Himaru thought, his eyes flashing with cunning. "The perfect time for a face-to-face meeting."

Calculatedly, Clone Himaru proposed the idea of an in-person meeting in the admin-only Disquad group. "Toga-san, Uraraka-san! How about we have an offline meeting in the near future? Just a casual get-together to chat and have fun."

Clone Himaru's proposal was immediately greeted with enthusiasm by the other two group members, Uraraka and Toga. "That's a very good idea, Himaru-kun!" Uraraka replied in the chat group, her response quick and full of enthusiasm. "When and where would be best?"

"How about next week? For the place… just at my family's cafe. There's a comfortable and more private VIP room, and the food and drink menu is guaranteed to be delicious," Clone Himaru replied, offering a 'battlefield' he had meticulously prepared. Yes, Himaru's family business was indeed booming, thanks to the magical recipes from the system. Himaru's family's new cafe had quickly transformed into the most happening hangout spot among young people.

"Your family's cafe? Wow, that sounds very interesting and luxurious!" Uraraka replied again, this time with a few sparkling eye emojis. "I'll definitely come! Can't wait!"

Toga also gave a positive response, although her sentences were a bit shorter and more restrained. "Okay. I'll come."

"Okay, great! See you next week at the cafe!" Clone Himaru replied, ending the conversation in the chat group with a victorious smile playing on his lips. Without wasting time, he immediately contacted Jin, the branch manager of his family's cafe (Twice, who had now become a loyal employee of the Himaru family, thanks to the Himaru family's kindness in lifting him from the brink of despair). "Jin-kun, please prepare the best VIP room for a small meeting next week. Make sure everything is perfect."

Jin, with the alacrity of a professional, immediately agreed to his young master's request. "Yes, sir, Young Master! The best VIP room will be specially decorated and prepared to the maximum extent possible! Please leave everything to me, Young Master!" Jin always felt happy and honored to be able to help the Himaru family, the family who had once saved him from ruin and given him new hope.

The long-awaited day of the face-to-face meeting finally arrived. Clone Himaru deliberately chose to arrive a little late, giving 'stage' for Uraraka and Toga to interact more intimately before his arrival. When Clone Himaru arrived in front of the cafe, Jin greeted him with a wide smile and led him straight to the VIP room that had been booked.

"Young Master, everything is ready according to instructions! The room has been specially decorated with an elegant and comfortable theme, and food and drink orders have also been arranged according to Young Master's preferences," Jin whispered excitedly, his eyes sparkling with pride for being entrusted to handle this important event.

"Thank you very much, Jin-kun. You can always be relied upon in any situation," Clone Himaru praised sincerely, patting Jin's shoulder with respect. In his heart, he also felt a little touched and grateful for Jin's unwavering loyalty.

When Clone Himaru opened the door of the VIP room, the scene that greeted him was Uraraka and Toga already sitting together on a plush sofa, looking engrossed in conversation and laughter. The atmosphere between the two of them looked very relaxed, warm, and familiar. Clone Himaru smiled in relief.

"Sorry, for making you wait a bit long," Clone Himaru greeted, entering the room with a charming smile that had become his reliable weapon. "Hi Uraraka-san, Toga-san… you haven't been waiting for me too long, have you?"

"Himaru-kun!" Uraraka exclaimed cheerfully, waving her hand enthusiastically. "Yes, I was the first to arrive. Then Toga-san came a few minutes later, so we chatted lightly while waiting."

Toga nodded slightly in response, giving a thin but sweet smile to Clone Himaru. "Hi Yūsha-kun."

"I'm so glad to see you two are already this close," said Clone Himaru, casually sitting in a single chair directly facing Uraraka and Toga who were sitting side-by-side on the sofa. "Oh yeah, let me introduce you, this is Jin-kun, the manager of this cafe. He will take and prepare our orders."

Jin deftly entered the room, pushing a trolley full of trays containing colorful drinks and appetizing snacks. "Welcome to our Cafe, beautiful young ladies and Young Master! Please enjoy the special dishes we have prepared especially for you!" Jin served the orders with swift movements and a professional friendly smile, then bowed respectfully before leaving the room.

After Jin disappeared behind the door, the three of them began to engage in a casual conversation that grew increasingly warm, discussing various topics ranging from the development of the band 'The Clones', creative ideas for Metube content, to various other light topics that made the atmosphere more pleasant and familiar. Clone Himaru felt that this was the right moment to 'leave the stage' for a moment, giving space between Uraraka and Toga to interact.

"Excuse me, I'll go to the restroom for a bit," said Clone Himaru, gesturing to excuse himself from his chair. "You guys continue the conversation. I won't be long."

"Okay, Himaru-kun," Uraraka replied, smiling in agreement. Toga only nodded slightly, but her eyes followed Clone Himaru's movements until he disappeared behind the door.

Inside the comfortable VIP room, after Clone Himaru left, the atmosphere suddenly changed to be slightly awkward and tense. Toga, who was usually more reserved and withdrawn, suddenly opened the conversation with a very surprising question, breaking the hanging silence. "Uraraka-san… do you… do you like Yūsha-kun?" Toga asked, her amber-colored eyes staring at Uraraka with piercing intensity.

Uraraka was startled by Toga's sudden question. Her face flushed crimson, her eyes widened in confusion, and her heart pounded uncontrollably. "Eh? W-what… what do you mean by that question, Toga-san?"

"You like Yūsha-kun, right?" Toga repeated, her tone this time sounding more assertive. "I can see it clearly from the way you look at him, from every smile you give him. You must like Yūsha-kun, right?"

Uraraka became increasingly nervous and flustered, her cheeks becoming redder like ripe tomatoes. She had not expected Toga to be so blunt and direct. "I-I… u-um… th-that…" Uraraka stammered, her tongue tied, not knowing what to answer, confusion reigning in her mind.

"Don't be shy or hesitant, Uraraka-san," Toga said in a softened tone of voice, but her eyes remained as sharp as a hawk. "I like Yūsha-kun too. I've liked him since the first time I met him. And I… I won't give up so easily, even if you are my toughest opponent." Toga revealed her feelings honestly, but accompanied by a fairly strong competitive tone in every word she spoke.

After hearing Toga's unexpected confession, Uraraka mustered the courage to give an equally surprising reply. "Toga-chan… I… actually I've liked Yūsha-kun for a long time too," Uraraka said softly, almost whispering, her face blushing more shyly. "But… I won't lose to you either! I will also try my best to win Yūsha-kun's heart!" Uraraka, who was usually known to be gentle and shy, this time unexpectedly showed her hidden competitive side. Love, apparently, did have the power to change everything.

Uraraka continued her confession, this time with a slightly bitter tone, implying jealousy and disappointment. "I… I'm a little jealous of you, Toga-chan. Yūsha-kun seems to have done many good things for you. He invited both of us to join the Disquad group also because he wanted to help you, he always looks very concerned about you…" In Uraraka's tone of voice, there was clearly a hint of jealousy and feelings of disappointment.

Unbeknownst to her, Uraraka unintentionally leaked Clone Himaru's 'secret plan' to Toga. "Actually, Yūsha-kun asked you to join as a Disquad admin… because he really wanted to help you. He said you might be experiencing severe stress due to the side effects of your quirk. Yūsha-kun is really a kind-hearted person, isn't he, Toga-chan?" Uraraka smiled admiringly, her eyes sparkling as she praised Himaru's kindness, completely unaware that the kindness she admired was just part of Clone Himaru's cunning and manipulative plan.

Hearing Uraraka's innocent words, Toga's heart actually stirred even more intensely. Himaru, it turned out, was secretly so concerned about her. He even knew about her quirk problem that had been a hidden burden, and tried to help her in a gentle and non-judgmental way. "Yūsha-kun… he's… really…" Toga murmured softly, her face reddening, and tears began to well up in her beautiful eyes.

Her affection for Himaru surged uncontrollably, filling every recess of her heart. However, on the other hand, she also began to feel genuine respect and sympathy for Uraraka as a friend. "Uraraka… thank you… thank you so much for telling me all this," Toga said sincerely, her eyes looking at Uraraka gently. "I… I become more and more… more and more fond of Yūsha-kun. Because of that… I still won't give up on winning his heart. But, setting aside the love competition between us, can… can we still remain friends?"

"Of course, Toga-chan! We will definitely remain friends!" Uraraka replied firmly, nodding enthusiastically with a bright smile adorning her face. "We will compete sportingly and healthily to win Yūsha-kun's heart! There will be no grudges or deceit!" The triangular love competition between Uraraka and Toga officially began, without them both realizing that they were actually becoming perfect 'prey' in Clone Himaru's intricate and calculated love net.

When Clone Himaru returned from the 'restroom'—he immediately sensed that the atmosphere inside the VIP room was slightly different from before. There was a strange aura emanating from Uraraka and Toga, a kind of tension mixed with a new spirit. Before he had a chance to ask any questions, Uraraka quickly opened her mouth, "Yūsha-kun! I've told Toga-chan about our plan!"

Clone Himaru was slightly surprised—although only acting, his brain immediately spun quickly, trying to analyze the situation. 'Plan? Which plan is Uraraka referring to?' He tried to digest every word Uraraka said, making sure no important details were missed. Before he had a chance to ask further, Uraraka continued to speak, this time with a more enthusiastic and emotional tone of voice, "Toga-chan said, she is really very touched by all the attention you have given her, Yūsha-kun!"

"Eh?" Clone Himaru pretended to be even more confused, his facial expression showing perfect ignorance. (high-level acting) 'Eh, so… so you already know about our plan, Toga-san?'

Toga Himiko answered with a gentle nod. "Yūsha-kun… I really want to express my deepest gratitude," Toga said, her eyes looking directly into Clone Himaru's eyes with an intense gaze that was difficult to interpret. "I am very grateful and thankful for everything you have done and tried to do for me."

Clone Himaru returned Toga's gaze with a warm and reassuring smile. "Toga-san, you're welcome! I just hope you can live a better and happier life, even though maybe many people out there can't understand your uniqueness. If you feel very overwhelmed and the urge to drink blood is getting stronger, you can always contact me and drink my blood to relieve your stress. I will gladly help you." Clone Himaru uttered these words in a very soft, caring, and friendly tone of voice.

Uraraka, who witnessed this emotional interaction, chimed in with a tone full of enthusiasm and sincere support. "Toga-chan! If you need more blood, you can take my blood too! I won't mind at all! Consider it as… a sign of close friendship between us!" Uraraka, with her typical innocence, offered her own blood to Toga, as a form of deep support and friendship.

Hearing the series of 'sincere' words from Clone Himaru and Uraraka, Toga's eyes welled up again, tears of happiness almost spilling and wetting her cheeks. She was truly touched to the depths of her heart by the kindness of the two people in front of her. "Himaru… Uraraka… you two… really…" Toga was unable to continue her sentence, her emotions too overflowing, tears starting to pool in her beautiful eyes. "I… I feel very lucky… very lucky to have met and known you both in my life." Her affection for Himaru became more deeply rooted, and her gratitude to Uraraka grew immeasurably. She truly felt she had found a 'place' in a world that had always felt cold and cruel to her.

Outside the VIP room, Jin, who unintentionally eavesdropped on their emotional conversation from behind the door, secretly shed tears of emotion. He was reminded of the kindness of Himaru's father who had once saved him from the brink of ruin. "Young Master… You truly inherited your Father's kindness… I am very proud of you, Young Master!" Jin sobbed inwardly, touched to witness the extraordinary kindness of his young master and his friends.
