Chapter 26: CHAPTER 26
the conflict escalates as the Marauders' advanced fighter jets engage with the Angelic warriors in a high-stakes aerial battle. The Marauders, a group of mutant mercenaries often employed by the villain Mister Sinister, utilize energy nets and anesthetic bullets in their attempt to capture the Angels. In response, the Angels, wielding their characteristic long swords, deftly pierce the nets and deflect the bullets. Despite the Marauders' sophisticated technology, the Angels' superior agility allows them to evade capture, often resulting in the destruction of the fighter jets in bursts of smoke and flames.
Even the lowest-ranking Angels possess strength equivalent to Level 1, far surpassing that of ordinary Marauders. Observing numerous fighter jets being downed, some Marauders whisper among themselves:
"They fly so fast, and each one is so strong,"
"Damn, you have to sell at a high price, they are worth it!"
Despite witnessing the destruction of their comrades, the Marauders remain undeterred. Fear of death or formidable enemies does not sway them; after all, they are Marauders. To them, life is important, but money is paramount.
"Kill them, just keep a few alive, and come back later,"
The captain, unable to maintain his composure any longer as each fighter jet represents a financial loss, orders his crew to show no mercy. He personally pilots a more advanced fighter into the fray. Simultaneously, the spaceship's arsenal begins a direct bombardment.
An Angel's body is not weaker than a god's, but that doesn't mean they are invulnerable. For lower-level Angels, numerous technological weapons can cause serious injury or even death. The weapons on the spaceship are notably more powerful, and the captain's fighter is equipped with a rapid-fire energy cannon capable of severely damaging low-level Angels. This cannon is a military product of the Skrull Empire, which, before its downfall, left many of its weapons scattered across the galaxy.
As the battle rages, casualties among the Angels begin to appear. Several Angels are seriously injured, their blood spilling into the sky before they plummet to the ground. After the captain successfully hits an Angel with the energy cannon, he directs his fighter to deploy an energy net, ensnaring the wounded Angel, and then maneuvers to avoid an attack from a mid-level Angel.
Surveying the battlefield, the captain notices that few Marauder fighters remain, and the Angels have formed a battle formation, making further attacks difficult. He signals a retreat, leading the remaining fighters back to the spaceship.
Two mid-level Angels give chase but are thwarted by the continuous bombardment from the spaceship's weapons. They can only watch helplessly as the Marauders capture two heavily wounded low-level Angels and bring them aboard the spaceship. In addition to the captain's capture, another fighter successfully secures a severely wounded Angel.
"Hahaha, they are so tough!"
The captain exclaims, observing the two Angels who, though no longer bleeding, begin to struggle. After confirming that their injuries are not fatal, he laughs.
"Little ones, we have made a fortune!"
"One is fifty million, and the remaining one can be sold for at least one million. When we buy a lot of big guys, hehe,"
"This is our fortune tree!"
"Let's go quickly!"
"Oh, really?"
As the spaceship prepares to launch, a stern-faced Angel with blond hair tied into a ponytail and long slanted bangs appears, extending a hand to halt the vessel.
"Injuring my subordinates, attempting to capture them, and planning to use the entire Angel Star as a money tree, hehe,"
"If I let you escape like this, I can't uphold my dominion!"
This high-level Angel, with a cold demeanor, exerts force, tearing apart the spaceship's armor.
"How is this possible?"
Alarms blare within the spacecraft as the hull is breached. The captain, drenched in sweat, mutters in disbelief:
"How is it possible? This is the military-grade secondary armor of the Skrull Empire…"
"Oh, no wonder it took me some effort!"
The high-level Angel steps into the spaceship through the torn opening, swiftly dispatching several Marauders who attempt to intervene.
"Let us go, or I will kill them immediately,"
The captain brandishes a small energy cannon, aiming it at the wounds of the two captured Angels, targeting areas that would be fatal.
"Oh,"
The high-level Angel remains unfazed, advancing and eliminating more Marauders.
"If you're going to act, do it quickly; they can all be resurrected due to their soul imprints!"
"How is it possible, how is it possible,"
The captain screams, clutching his severed arm. Not fearing death doesn't mean he wishes to die. Seeing the Angel approaching, he decides to pull the trigger, intending to die alongside the two Angels.
A flash of the sword, and his arm falls to the ground, fingers still gripping the trigger but unable to pull it.
