Chapter 27: CHAPTER 27
"Happy Star," Ragna , seated upon the Heavenly Palace Throne, contemplates the strength of the Angelic forces. In the vast universe, each Angel is formidable;
possessing an army of Level 1 or higher beings would signify unparalleled power. Historically, at its zenith, Asgard—under the leadership of Odin and Hela—boasted an army of millions, yet only about 30,000 had strength surpassing Level 1. Their dominance wasn't solely due to their numbers but also their elite warriors and the strategic advantage provided by the Bifrost, their teleportation device. This allowed them to deploy top-tier combatants swiftly, enabling the subjugation of various civilizations. However, true governance required substantial grassroots personnel. Asgard, despite claiming dominion over the Nine Realms, faced challenges due to its limited population and the inherent low fertility rates of powerful races. This scarcity made it difficult to station large garrisons across the realms. While the Bifrost allowed rapid response, any damage to it led to immediate rebellions, revealing the fragility of such nominal rule. Ragna aspires to a more robust dominion, aiming to surpass Asgard and even Odin. However, producing merely five hundred low-level Angels annually is insufficient for his expansive ambitions. This limitation troubles him deeply.
At this moment, High-ranking Angel Leng strides in, kneels respectfully, and declares,
"All looters are killed; your will is our mission!"
Ragna acknowledges Angel Leng and inquires about the condition of the Angels who participated in the recent battle. Angel Leng reports,
"Eight low-level Angels were seriously injured and have been sent to the rebirth pool to recuperate; there were no casualties among the mid-level Angels. The raider ship possessed multiple Skrull Empire military weapons."
Ragna nods, relieved that there were no fatalities. Although resurrection is possible, it demands considerable energy, which he prefers to allocate towards upgrading Angel Armament and enhancing King Rank Angels. Dismissing Angel Leng, Ragna resumes pondering solutions to the shortage of grassroots personnel.
Meanwhile, across the universe, Contraxia thrives as a bustling hub for marauders. This "Happy Star" attracts numerous predators seeking pleasure, and various civilizations come here to issue bounties. Not all looters rely solely on plundering; many undertake perilous bounties to sustain themselves. Often, civilizations have adversaries they cannot confront directly, especially within territories governed by others, as deploying their own forces could incite war. In such scenarios, universe-spanning predators prove invaluable. For the right price, they dare to undertake any mission.
In a secluded gathering, Stakar Ogord, a prominent marauder leader, convenes with several other leaders to discuss recent events. One leader confirms,
"It has been confirmed that Captain Svala, all his crew, and his ship have disappeared, and are basically confirmed dead!"
The leaders solemnly perform the looters' funeral rite, clapping their hearts with their right fists to honor the fallen. Following this, a towering, bald man with a formidable presence, clad in a yellow predator uniform, speaks eagerly,
"Then what are we waiting for? That's an Angel! The Collector has offered a sky-high price of 50 million for it! God, I never thought that an Angel could be worth so much!"
Another leader, diminutive in stature, wearing a pointed hat and possessing a mechanical claw for a hand, retorts provocatively,
"Do you think Angels are as common as giant trash? They rarely appear in the universe!"
The giant brawny man reacts angrily, but Stakar intervenes,
"Enough, it's so ugly! Angel is not that easy to deal with! By the way, we'll just go quietly and grab one; fifty million is enough for us to share!"
The cold-faced female predator leader adds jokingly,
"Hmph, that's Angel's base camp; there are at least 2,000 Angels! If you just catch one secretly, why would you tell us to do it!"
The dwarf, feeling slighted, responds,
"Oh, isn't it because you might not be able to win the entire Angel star alone?"
The black-haired female leader counters coldly,
"Don't we know about you yet? Skinner!"
The tension among the leaders underscores the perilous nature of their proposed endeavor.
