Luffy Twin Brother: The Monkey King

Chapter 26: Chapter 26

"Captain! Luffy is on the island!" A pirate came sprinting toward him, breathless. Kong's head snapped up, his eyes widening in shock.

"Where is he?"

"He and his crew are in Alubarna, where the civil war should be taking place. The Marines are also there—Smoker has been spotted on the island," the pirate reported.

Kong raised an eyebrow. "Hurry it up!" he barked at his crew.

A few hours later, he was loaded with treasure. With most of his crew sent back to the ship, Kong and a handful of others set off on the long trek toward the capital. The journey took two days, but as they neared Alubarna, they spotted Marines swarming the city, scrambling in search of Luffy.

Kong, a wanted man, remained hidden on a rooftop while his crew spread out to gather information. When they returned, what they reported was nothing short of shocking—Luffy had defeated the Warlord of the Sea, Crocodile.

Kong's eyes widened. Luffy beat a Warlord? He hadn't thought his brother had it in him. But then again… Crocodile couldn't be as strong as Mihawk, right?

Kong furrowed his brow. "So, there's a chance Luffy isn't on this island…" He paused, then shook his head. "No, he's here. Luffy isn't smart enough to run unless his crew forces him."

He tapped his chin, lost in thought, trying to think like his brother.

"Follow the Marines' movements. If they're still searching, it means the Straw Hats are nearby."

With a lazy stretch, Kong lay back on the rooftop. "Spread out, do your own thing, and regroup if something happens."

The pirates exchanged glances before shrugging. One by one, they leaped off the roof, disappearing into the streets in search of any trace of Luffy… And so, time passed.

Kong knew he needed rest, but trusting his crew was another matter entirely. He shifted from rooftop to rooftop before finding a well-hidden spot to sleep and went to sleep.

The Next Day.

Now officially known as the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy and his crew were making their escape from Alabasta, their ship battered and struggling against the waves. A fleet of Marine ships had surrounded them, ready to capture them.

However, the Straw Hats weren't alone. Another ship sailed beside them—a second vessel aiding in their retreat. The Going Merry had taken heavy damage, its sails torn and black rods impaled into its hull, evidence of the fierce battle they had barely survived.

"The Straw Hats…" Akainu muttered, standing at the shore, his gaze locked onto the battered Going Merry as it sailed away. He knew Kong was her..

As Akainu observed, the second ship suddenly veered away from the Straw Hats' vessel, drawing the Marines' attention. Since the straws were seen on that second ship. Predictably, the Marines prioritized the second ship, as they cared about Luffy more than anything else.

But it was a trick. The second ship's crew were masters of disguise, leading the Marines on a chase while the real Straw Hats prepared their escape.

Akainu's eyes narrowed as he sensed the Straw Hats were still aboard their ship. It didn't take long for the other Marines to realize the deception, leading them to launch their attack on the second ship. But Akainu didn't make a move, his focus remained unshaken.

He was waiting. Waiting for Kong. If Kong was truly here, he would never stand by and let his brother fall.

"Everyone!!!" A powerful voice echoed from the speakers placed around Alabasta. Akainu's gaze flicked toward one of the speakers, where Princess Vivi's voice was being projected, addressing the people.

It seemed today was some ceremonial event… Akainu didn't care.

"What a weird form of technology," Kong muttered lazily, eyeing the snails broadcasting the speech across Alabasta. He turned his gaze toward the palace balcony, expecting to see Princess Vivi delivering her address.

But something was off. That wasn't the princess. Instead, an unfamiliar, unattractive man stood in her place. Kong frowned, momentarily confused, but before he could think, the snail speakers crackled to life once more.

"Sorry, but I can't come with you." Vivi's voice rang out across the city. Kong frowned in confusion for a moment. Who would she be speaking to? Well, the answer was clear… it had to be Luffy.

"Captain, the Marines are after your brother!" The pirates rushed to Kong's side, relaying the urgent news.

Meanwhile, Akainu's patience was wearing thin. His head slowly turned toward Vivi, who was still delivering her speech, tears streaming down her face. Luffy and his crew looked like they were trying to convince her to join them, but she hesitated.

Akainu didn't care for this sentimental display. Slowly, magma began to bubble around his right hand. His body radiated heat as he started moving toward Vivi, molten rock dripping from his fingers, scorching the stone beneath him.

"Watch out!" Nami's voice rang out in alarm.

Vivi gasped, snapping her head toward Akainu, only to see him closing the distance—his burning fist twisting the air around him.

Vivi, terrified and desperate, leaped onto her duck and spurred him forward, trying to escape. But Akainu barely even acknowledged her attempt to flee. His molten fist surged forward, launching a wave of searing magma straight at her.

Luffy, Nami, Zoro, and the others could only watch in horror, helpless against the attack. They were too far away—there was nothing they could do.

Boom!

A sword intercepted the wave of magma, deflecting it mid-air and sending it crashing back toward Akainu. The force of the impact sent the admiral skidding backward, his narrowed eyes locking onto the figure standing in his way.

"Attacking a defenseless girl? Come on… I'm a pirate, and I wouldn't stoop that low," Kong said with a cocky smirk, eyes locked onto Akainu. The admiral's face darkened instantly, his killing intent flooding the air like a suffocating heatwave.

"Kong!" Luffy's voice rang out, filled with shock and relief.

Kong turned, waving lazily as if this was just another casual day. "Luffy! You guys get moving! I'll catch up after I deal with this creep—you know, the one with my name carved into his face!"

Akainu's magma surged violently, his rage boiling over. His entire body erupted into a seething inferno, magma flooding toward Kong like a tidal wave of destruction.

Kong's grin widened as he tightened his grip on his sword, ready to clash.

"Run!" Kong ordered Vivi, his voice sharp with urgency. She didn't hesitate, spurring her duck forward as fast as she could.

Then, Kong stepped forward to meet the incoming wave of magma. For a split second, the world seemed to freeze, the air itself growing heavy.
