Chapter 176: Rare?
"It's final. Igniting a fire down here is alright."
"Yeah, just look at the intensity of this fire…"
Lucas and John were now away from Lucas's workshop. The fire in it was burning bright and seemed to increase in intensity vertically.
It was now 6 feet in height, and Lucas could now see completely that the fire won't hinder anyone nor it would suffocate the people in the basement including Lucas.
"Uhh… I think we should put the fire out now."
"Good idea." John moved his hand and curled his fingers in a slow motion.
Soon, winds started moving around him and then the heavy winds went from him to the fire which berserked in its company.
The workshop for now had nothing, not even the wooden trunks that Lucas first used as the frame of the walls made of leather patches. There were only pieces of rocks on which he had written a lot of formulas and mixtures.
The fire got exhausted pretty quickly and that was Lucas's time to get on with his work without John. Discover exclusive tales on My Virtual Library Empire
"Alright, thanks for the help, Uncle John. Let me try some concoction today in the workshop."
"No problem. But be careful alright? We may have given the fire some time to test but you still have to be careful. If it berserks and spreads around, we can seriously get hurt you know."
Lucas talked with the guy for a while until they both had to go do their work now.
Finally, he was in front of the cauldron looking at the water inside it boil before him.
He had already made a makeshift stand with the help of the ropes present in teh workshop and the extra-long trunks of wood.
He waited till the bubbles were on the brim and at the right time, he threw some ingredients inside the boiling cauldron.
They were in the right proportions and ratios and Lucas tried his all to complete and make a potion that could go beyond the uncommon grade.
All his potion mixtures were according to the one quantity of water. There was a mark inside the cauldron, it was near the opening yet still a few inches in. It was the right amount that Lucas used in order to always have a fixed amount of water.
His perception about the quantity of everything that he had to use was top-notch.
With no measuring tool, John and the others who had observed his works thought that it would be difficult but after knowing about his instinct for the measurement amounts, they could feel like Lucas had the best skill among all of them.
Lucas continued to watch the bubbling cauldron with intense focus. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead as he meticulously added each ingredient, one by one, into the seething mixture.
His hands moved gracefully, a testament to his practice and dedication to the potions brewing craft.
As he stirred the concoction, a sense of anticipation filled the workshop.
The fire's glow had subsided, casting small shadows on the stone walls. The only sound that could be heard was the soft, rhythmic bubbling of the potion and the occasional crackle of embers from the now-tamed fire.
Barney and Sean were already engrossed in their own crafts. One fixing the shovels, and weapons that needed fixing while the other inscribed runes and texts beyond the others in measly stones.
Lucas kept on looking at the cauldron in the hope that he could see something different.
"Hm?"
'Now that I realize, the water boiled faster in here while the fire is smaller than the one in the Dakota firepit…' Lucas realized as he saw that the content of the cauldron, especially the herbs that he threw in had started to soak properly while the desired content from them was flowing inside the seering water.
Lucas couldn't help but think that the concoction could have a great influence from the workshop now that he could see that the changes had already taken place.
He waited for some time until a fragrance came out of the cauldron, the one that he liked a lot, the one that told him that yes, this concoction was successful.
He quickly got it off the makeshift holder that he had made from a while ago.
"FUCK!"
He by mistake touched the cauldron which was piping hot making his hand a bit red.
"Be careful!" John said in annoyance which made Lucas nod.
"This is going to leave a blister…" He muttered while looking at the reddish hand, Lucas wanted to get healed yet he insisted on completing the potion brewing process first.
He went and made his hand near the cauldron which was already on the ground. Lucas willed his mana through his potion-brewing skill which made a weird connection to the cauldron.
It took him a few minutes to get the brewing process to end and when he was done, the potion had a lustering glow over it which was new.
On average, Lucas could only see a faint glow and then the liquid became normal with some color yet this time, the glow persisted for a while.
He dipped a wooden cup halfway and took out some potion in order to inspect it properly.
——
Normal level Mana potion
Rare Grade
The potion is made by utilizing the properties of the ingredients in a better way than a rookie. The potion maker has taken advantage of his terrain to make a better potion. The potency of the liquid is still low but better than any of the maker's previous works. With every 10 ml intake of the potion, the user can regenerate their mana stat by 10 under normal circumstances.
——
"Rare grade!" Lucas exclaimed with wide eyes, he couldn't believe that a single potion inside the workstation could have such good effects on the potion.
John and even the two brothers heard and with curiosity, came toward him.
Lucas took the time to show them his work with a huge grin.
"10 ml intake can increase 10 mana points? This is a very good increase. It will now let us conserve the potions now that the need is only a measly 10 ml!" Even John couldn't help but state in bewilderment.
