Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 173: Shelter Upgrade!!

"Alright! Everyone ready?" A voice came from outside the shelter.

"Yes!"

"Just get this over with."

"I can't wait."

Coincidentally, there was not one but many voices just outside the shelter.

They were the inhabitants of the very shelter they were outside of and were behind a certain someone who had a prompt open of the system in front of him.

The prompt could only be seen by him and the smile on his face couldn't dwindle at all.

All the requirements for upgrading the shelter were with everyone. They were inside the storage of the shelter and Lucas was going to lose them in order to help the shelter upgrade itself.

"Alright... 3... 2... 1!!" Lucas exclaimed loudly and was going to click on the button which would make him approve this upgrade decision yet he stopped at the last second.

"What happened?"

"Is it started?"

"Nah, his face is all worried. It hasn't been stated yet."

"Yes, there has to be a big light that goes upward when the upgrade starts."

"Guys... Don't you remember what happened the last time?" Lucas asked while his worry could be seen on his face.

It took time but soon, realization hit everyone as their faces got concerned and pale.

"Fuck, will the god stuff happen again?"

"Oh my god! I don't think I can handle that kind of creature again."

"Calm down, we have to think clearly."

"Just start the upgrade and leave the bastards to me!"

"What can you do alone, you blockhead Jerry?"

"Fuck you!!"

"SHHHHHH" Lucas made a shush sound in order to make everyone quiet.

"We are getting sidetracked, I think that the upgrade is ready and if we get something out of it in the process, isn't that good? Get your abilities at your fingertips and the weapon users, equip your weapons quickly. We will fight if it's needed. Get ready."

Lucas saw the message that hadn't left till now, he took a deep breath and finally clicked on the 'YES' option.

RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE!

The ground started quaking and everyone had to take support of the big tree or else they kept stumbling just like Sean who in trying to be cool actually fell on his face.

"An earthquake!?"

"We don't know! Just be ready for anything." Lucas looked at the white light that was shining in the shelter. It was engulfed in light and there was no way anyone could see further the light or what was actually going on.

The earthquake was violent for the first few minutes yet it didn't do anything to the ecosystem. The trees were still erect, even the thin ones. The bushes, the land, and the soil. Everything was how it was supposed to be.

The earthquake became normal and normal until what was left was literally its shadow, the vibrations that felt good on the feet.

After 5 minutes of waiting for the dangers, many got out of formation thinking that if something were to happen, it would have happened already.

After 30 minutes of continuous wait, Lucas finally saw the land inside the shelter. The light took time to actually exhaust and Lucas had a hard time actually making up his mind to go in right now when the light was still there.

When the light was all gone, Lucas finally saw the whole shelter again, his eyes widened in surprise yet it actually changed to disappointment the next second.

"... NOthing?"

There was no change to the shelter from the outside at all. The defense was the same, and the shelter was the same. The very land that was in the shelter's territory was the same as before.

Lucas with the others entered the shelter's territory slowly with the thinking that they might have left something, even a minuscule detail while looking and there was actually some change to the shelter.

"Is this supposed to be like this?"

"I don't know. We have to look everywhere. Let's split up."

"Alri-!" Sarah was going to go with Lucas when a hand fell on her shoulder and started dragging her to the other side confusing Lucas.

"Hehehe~ You had enough fun already. Now it's her turn." Sandra said and gave a thumbs up to Haley who in turn got in front of Lucas.

"Let's go check the shelter, Lucas~" Haley said with a dazzling smile on her face.

"Alright, let's check the inside."

'NOOOOOO' Sarah screamed inwardly thinking that she lost a good chance of bonding with Lucas. She could only look at Sandra with a grumpy face.

"What? There aren't many potential candidates here you know. I had to be productive for my sister!"

While they had started bantering and not actually finding anything, Lucas, Haley, and some others had entered the shelter's inside.

"Strange..." Lucas looked at the living area with disappointment. It was as it was before, nothing more, nothing less.

"Let's not lose hope. The upgrade requirements were huge and we even used the ores. So let's see."

"You only kept 50 ores in the storage, right?"

"Yeah, you only needed 50 for the upgrade anyway. I will keep the others right now."

"There is no need to do it this early. Let's first find some changes and then we can look at the other things and plan."

"Alright!!"

"Lucas... Come here." John who had just entered the storage room said with a serious face.

Lucas quickly went to him with Haley, "What is it, Uncle John?"

"I think I found the changes."

"Really?!"

Lucas moved his body inside the storage halfway and looked at all the empty shelves, he knew about this already as he was the one who asked Haley to keep all of it in her skill, in this way, not only would she upgrade her skill and with it, she could help preserve the things in the storage.

"What the hell?" Lucas looked at the corner which was not what he expected to see.

He went inside the storage fully, making the cold want to make him sick yet he was not a normal human anymore. It would take a lot more in order to actually make him sick.

"Stairs?"

"Yes"

At first, it was hard to look at the stairs as, from their angle, Lucas and the others could only see a big square opening yet when they went closer, everyone could see the stairs.

"Haley, can you tell the others about the stairs and bring them here? We are going inside now."

"Alright, but I will be back in a few!" She said while running toward her destination.

"She's cute," John muttered which made Lucas make a disgusted look.

"I didn't know Uncle Lucas had such preferences, but don't worry, I might not tell Aunt Ella about this."

"It's not for me!! I was talking for you!" John exclaimed thinking that his reputation was getting tarnished.

Lucas laughed while he knew the reason from the beginning, he was just trying to tease John.

"Let's go now, Young liking Uncle John."

"You stop that!" Joh smacked Lucas's head from behind which made Lucas stumble a few stairs thinking that he would fall all the way down.

"I could have died!"

"Yeah yeah, cockroaches don't die. I know that." John fired back and went further down leaving Lucas fuming in the back.

The stairs were long and not straight at all. Lucas and John had already taken 2 corner turns which made them think as if they had gone down two-stories in an actual building.

"So this is why there was an earthquake huh... The upgrade was actually excavating the land.

"If things are good, we might get a basement this time."

"Uncle John, I think it's already established that it will be a basement, I mean we are going downward from the main floor."

"Dear boy, always play it paranoid. Don't make decisions before thinking about it much."

They talked and finally saw a small light in the corner, they were walking in te dark and still had no trouble thinking that this much dark was nothing.

It was actually a good experience for them all as the darkness they were in was pitch darkness, on could not see even a centimeter from their eyes as there was only darkness, nothing more.

Seeing this darkness with a hint of light was nothing in front of them.

"Helloooooo" Lucas flinched at the voice from behind and he darted his face the next second toward the behind.

Yet there was no one there making Lucas think that he brought the being with them to the shelter. Just the thought made him shudder.

"Helllloooooo, you guys down there?"

"Sean?" John said with a frown and even Lucas could recognize the goofy voice.

"FUCKING SEAN, YOU PIECE OF SHIT!!" Lucas screamed making everyone hear it from a mile away.

"Sigh... Language..." John said with a sigh, but even he wanted to shout at Sean at scaring them this much in their own homes.
