Chapter 182: Viola's Unusualness...
"!!!" "!!!" "!!!"
Although the Voidling Guild members were unable to see anything right now, that didn't mean they couldn't hear. And what was transmitted to their brains through their eardrums was ludicrous!
Their Guild Master rarely ever went on Gate Raids, even with her own Guild members, let alone with this man who not only rejected her once but several times! This was insane!
"Gate Raids?" asked Cassius.
"With me, yes."
"And you won't be weird…?"
"I'll try—... I mean, I won't be weird," Viola corrected herself with a small blush.
When she saw Cassius's icy glare, though, that small blush deepened, and her thigh rubbing came back in full swing.
"...I don't believe you. You're definitely going to be weird, aren't you…?" Cassius asked suspiciously.
"I… I promise that I won't be weird, okay…?"
Silence.
"Fine."
Viola cheered inside her heart but outwardly gave a slight smile and a small nod. "You won't regret this decision of yours. And perhaps through this experience today, we'll be able to become a bit closer."
"Can we keep our distance, though? You're quite odd. Plus, you're leaking… a lot…"
Another rejection! Even harsher this time!
Yet it only made Viola's excitement soar higher!
With a goofy grin, she extended her arms outward and motioned for Cassius to walk ahead. He did so, but very reluctantly. If it was at all possible, he would prefer not to follow this atypical woman anywhere, but seeing as the mysteries of the Space Element were too juicy of an opportunity to pass up, he did what he had to.
Viola observed that cold stare of his through her slightly closed eyes and couldn't stop herself from trembling even more. Her excitement was palpable, and if not for the fact that she temporarily blinded all of her Guild members, her esteemed reputation would surely have been sullied.
—A few minutes later—
Cassius and Viola had been walking throughout the large Voidling Guild building for a substantial period of time. During the entire experience, they maintained silence, and in that silence, the pervy Guild Leader took furtive glances at him whenever she got the chance. However, just a couple of minutes ago, during one of these perv outs, she saw his arm regenerate from nothing!
After being infected by her spatial powers, it should have been a very long while until his arm could regenerate. But that didn't turn out to be the case for this anomaly of a man…
When she first perused his files, she immediately realized there was something extremely special about him. No one had a rep sheet like that yet preferred to stay under the radar.
Within the hour, she had already set up his formal invitation. Of course, considering the watchful eyes of the other S-Rank Hunters, she could only send B-Rank Hunters as escorts for this mysterious man. Furthermore, she was forced to do so in a very inconspicuous manner.
Little did she know that around half of the S-Rank Hunters of Japan had already been killed off since the last time she saw them…
The only ones who were left alive were all those gathering for the World's End Raid and… and…
Well, the others still left alive were kept alive for a special reason… a very special reason.
In a way, one could say that the World's End Gate Raid had inadvertently saved the lives of every single S-Rank Hunter who dared to participate. It was truly an odd miracle.

When Cassius and Viola finally descended the massive Guild building and left through the front door, another black limo was waiting outside. It was there for them, and when two A-Rank Hunters opened the limo doors for them, they got in and sat on opposite sides of the vehicle.
Viola didn't mind his attempt at keeping a certain distance away from her. In fact, it only made her more excited…
Cassius's lips curled in disgust while side-eyeing her.
She loved that.
'Seriously… What is wrong with this girl? And why is her Guild more of a business than a monster hunter organization??'
Cassius saw many labs and monster material separation rooms while making his way through the Voidling Guild building. If the Voidling members weren't wearing Men-in-Black suits, then they were either wearing hazmat suits or white lab coats. Not a single one of them seemed like they actually participated in Gate Raids themselves.
Seeing his perplexed expression through his dashing side profile, Viola asked, "Are you wondering about what the Voidling Guild actually does?" Find adventures on My Virtual Library Empire
"How did you—"
"You aren't the first one to make a face like that after visiting the Voidling Headquarters. Almost everyone who isn't aware of our Guild's internal workings makes the same face," Viola said with a lighthearted chuckle. "But if I were to give you the simplest explanation, then it's that we're a rather unorthodox Guild. Only a couple of foreign S-Rank Guilds operate in the same manner."
Cassius was going to delve more into the subject, but she spoke first. "The truth is that we do indeed have members who actively clear Gates. However, the vast majority of our members are those who were merely fortunate enough to awaken with a high rank, yet not many of them wished to seek out an early death in a Gate. Therefore, they joined our Guild and pursued one of the plethora of monster-handling professions."
With a lovely smile, she added, "The pay is not as good as actually venturing into Gates, but it isn't too far off. Moreover, there's a lot of versatility and wiggle room for what you'd like to learn how to do. The only catch is that if there's a large surplus of high-ranking Gates in our territory that our Strike Forces can't handle, you must be prepared to band together and clear the Gates."
Finally reaching the point of the conversation she was aiming for, she shot her head toward the silent fellow and asked, "Would you like to—"
"No."
Instantaneous rejection!
"B-But I'll give you a direct position as one of the Guild's Head Managers! You'll also be able to become the 2nd Vice Guild Leader within a very short amount of time—"
"I'm good."
Still no!
What da fak!?
