With a slightly twitching face, Viola lightly coughed before making her voice sound more coquettish. "Are you sure you wouldn't—"

However, at this moment, Cassius was quite curious about the film of dark energy that just tried to temporarily disable one of his five senses. He poked and prodded at it, yet felt nothing even as his fingers sank into the starry purple energies interwoven inside.

Cassius vanished from his spot and reappeared beside the gorgeous woman rubbing her thighs in place. She quickly became startled and attacked him on reflex, but he effortlessly clasped her space-covered arm. This time, he felt something painful damaging the outer layer of his skin. It even made an attempt to dig deeper into his hand and vaporize his bones.

And for the sake of science… he let it happen.

Cassius felt an excruciating pain assault his senses but didn't make a single attempt to prevent the pain from continuing. Like a clinically insane lunatic, he emotionlessly watched as the hand holding Viola's arm vanished one chunk at a time. Within moments, his entire right arm had been transported to oblivion.

"Wow…" was all Cassius had to say as he cut off the corroding part at the base of his shoulder with the assistance of Lilith. That was when an unusual thought entered his frontal lobe. 'Wait… is Lilith able to absorb my body to evolve? I don't mind dying a few times every day for her if that's the case. I can also ramp up my regeneration skills and turn myself into some type of infinite meat generator—'

"Okay, that's enough," said Cassius, his forehead crinkling.

"What was that?" Viola asked while still trying to hide what was happening beneath her sexy dress.

"Hmm? Oh, it's nothing," Cassius replied as if he had no idea about the suspicious liquid leaking from an equally suspicious cavern. "But these space-related skills of yours; can you show more of them to me?"

Quickly realizing this was her chance to turn things around, Viola responded, "I can, but I would also like something from you."

Cassius's breathing became a little frosty as he coldly glared at this euphorically shaking woman. Though, he immediately noticed that the more he looked at her, the more she shook—all with a straight face as well.

'What a weird lady…'

But with that being beside the point, he asked, "What is it that you want from me?"

Viola happily shivered before walking closer to him.

He backed up by the same distance she walked.

She resumed her approach.

He continued his retreat.

"Don't get so close to me," said Cassius. "I don't know what's going on with you, but I don't wish to catch whatever it is that you have."

He faintly recalled Bella's warning from the previous day. Was she being serious when she spoke of that deadly little-brother-killing disease?

Well, either way, being cautious was the best course of action.

For a moment, Viola couldn't believe what she, a noble S-Rank Hunter, was being put through right now. Moreover, she felt mortified to be viewed in such a negative light by a man whom she had just met for the first time! This was terrible! Nothing was going the way she had expected!

While happily shivering in place, Viola gave up her advance and let Cassius put his guard down.
