Chapter 50: Chapter 50 - The Radiance of the Omniscient Star

Chapter 50 - The Radiance of the Omniscient Star

Tōsen had no knowledge of Celtic mythology or King Arthur's Excalibur.

But he knew that Gilgamesh was about to demonstrate his power, showing the strength to achieve his grand ambitions.

'Is the Spiral Sword the name of his Zanpakutō?'

'Does True Name Release mean Shikai or Bankai?'

With these thoughts, Tōsen began to sense Gilgamesh's spiritual pressure seriously.

Gilgamesh had never hidden his spiritual pressure, so it was clear and visible to Tōsen.

However, Gilgamesh's spiritual pressure was so weak that Tōsen thought it wasn't his true strength.

In an instant, a rainbow-colored sword light burst from the Spiral Sword, rapidly extending towards Gin.

Almost simultaneously, Gin released his Shikai, and his Zanpakutō, Shinsō, extended quickly towards Gilgamesh.

The next second, the rainbow sword light collided with Shinsō.

Under the watchful eyes of Yoruichi and Tōsen, there was no grand explosion or stalemate.

Almost without any delay, Shinsō shattered inch by inch under the rainbow sword light.

The rainbow sword light continued at its original speed towards Gin.

Witnessing this, Yoruichi and Tōsen couldn't help but be shocked.

They both knew how sharp and sturdy Gin's Shinsō was.

But now, Gin's Shinsō was so fragile under the rainbow sword light. This was truly astounding.

Moreover, the Spiral Sword's attack seemed similar to Gin's Shinsō.

Naturally, the most shocked was Gin.

At this moment, his usually narrowed eyes were wide open, filled with disbelief.

Seeing the approaching rainbow sword light, Gin felt an immense sense of danger, with every cell in his body warning him to escape quickly.

Without hesitation, Gin used Shunpo to move rapidly to the side.

But it was too late.

Slash!

A deep wound appeared on Gin's right arm, with blood flowing down his arm, dripping from the air.

Covering his wound with his hand, cold sweat ran down Gin's face.

This wasn't just due to the intense pain but the relief of surviving.

If he hadn't dodged, the sword would have pierced his heart.

At the same time, Gin was in awe of the Spiral Sword's power.

The Spiral Sword's ability was similar to his Shinsō's Shikai but far more powerful.

Furthermore, Shinsō's maximum extension was 100 times its original length, but the rainbow sword light of the Spiral Sword clearly extended beyond that.

So, what exactly was the Spiral Sword? Was it Gilgamesh's Zanpakutō?

One doubt after another surfaced in his mind.

Despite his growing confusion about Gilgamesh, Gin didn't connect him to the ancient hero king from the Epic of Gilgamesh.

It was simply too absurd to believe that the Gilgamesh before him was the legendary hero king.

Before Gin could ponder further, Gilgamesh, seated on his throne, raised the Spiral Sword and slashed towards him.

Immediately, the rainbow sword light extended towards Gin again.

Having witnessed the power of the rainbow sword light, Gin dared not hesitate and quickly used Shunpo to evade it.

Slash!

In Gin's shocked gaze, the desolate white desert-like ground of Hueco Mundo was cleaved, forming a bottomless chasm.

As the chasm appeared, the white sands on either side began to pour into it, forming a quicksand pit.

Without giving Gin a moment to breathe, the rainbow sword light slashed at him again.

Gin, with no hesitation, used Shunpo to dodge the rainbow sword light once more.

And as soon as he reappeared, the rainbow sword light was already slashing at him again.

Once, twice, thrice…

Gin lost count of how many times he had dodged, but the rainbow sword light always followed him relentlessly.

This realization made Gin's heart tremble violently.

He suddenly remembered that Gilgamesh had foreseen Mihane Kano's attack in their battle.

Undoubtedly, the reason the rainbow sword light followed him so closely was that Gilgamesh had foreseen his actions, allowing him to strike precisely as Shunpo ended.

Realizing this, Gin knew there were only two ways to break free.

The first was to escape to a place where the rainbow sword light couldn't reach.

The second was to capture the mastermind, Gilgamesh, thereby ending everything.

As for which option to choose…

Gin's opened eyes gleamed dangerously.

He had never been a saint. Since Gilgamesh sought his life, he naturally wanted Gilgamesh's life in return.

Thus, Gin decided to do both.

After dodging the rainbow sword light again, Gin shouted, "Kaname, what are you doing? Why haven't you acted? Have you betrayed Captain Aizen?"

"Act now, don't give him a chance, use your Bankai!"

As he shouted, Gin used Shunpo to swiftly move beneath the Vimana.

Gilgamesh was seated on the throne of the Vimana, wielding the Spiral Sword, so below the Vimana was out of the rainbow sword light's reach.

Unless the rainbow sword light could bend.

But Gin quickly dismissed that possibility.

On the Vimana, Tōsen was startled by Gin's words.

Yoruichi also quickly turned her wary gaze towards Tōsen.

She didn't know what Tōsen's Bankai was.

Though she disdained Tōsen, he was still a captain, and his power was undeniable. If he used his Bankai at such close range, regardless of its nature, the consequences would be unimaginable.

However, before Yoruichi could act, Gilgamesh gently pressed her back with his left hand.

Tōsen raised his Zanpakutō and said to Gilgamesh, "I recognize your ideals, but I'm sorry. That night, I gave myself to Captain Aizen."

"But don't worry, I won't harm you. I'll capture you, and then I'll plead with Captain Aizen to let you join us."

Without giving Gilgamesh a chance to respond, Tōsen began chanting, "Bankai: Suzumushi Tsuishiki: Enma Kōrogi!"

Seeing this, Gilgamesh's lips curved into a smile, and his ruby eyes shone with the radiance of the Omniscient Star.
