LGHTNOVELBOOK Chapter 10: He's Staring
Everyone could only watch as one woman was walked out by security and another leading a client to the elevator.
Once Evangeline disappear, the lobby buzzed with whispers.
"Was Ms. Beaumont always this fierce?"
"I know right, what could that woman have done to upset Ms. Beaumont like that?"
"Obviously, it can't be anything good, anyone who can get her that angry isn't a good person."
"Why did that woman keep shouting about Ms. Beaumont need to forgive her and some man?"
"Wait, wasn't she engaged."
"Oh my God, her fiancé cheated on her with that woman!"
"She has some nerve coming here talking about being friends."
The early morning events were all everyone could talk about and it spread like wildfire throughout the company.
Meanwhile in the meeting room, Eva brought the heads of both teams to pitch their proposals to Alexander.
"Mr. Blackthorne, this is Liam Kennedy team 1 leader and Stefan Kingston leader of team 2." she introduced
"Let's begin." Alexander said after shaking hands with both men.
Eric Tomlinson, his Personal Assistant sat next Alexander paying close attention to the proposal but his boss was focused on the spitfire sitting across from him.
She was paying close attention to the presentations every now and again writing something down. She's not only elegant but professional, no wonder the people in the lobby were surprised by the aggression in her voice.
"What do you think of the proposals Mr. Blackthorne?
"I like them both, however I like the one from team 2 more, it clearly portrays what I was going for. It could use some tweaking, some aspects from team 1 can be added to enhance the overall end product."
Both men listened to what Alexander said before glancing at Evangeline.
"We'll work with Mr. Blackthorne's choice and integrate the necessary aspects from team 1's proposal and resubmit it. You two can get back to work."
"Okay Ms. Beaumont, it was a pleasure meeting you Mr. Blackthorne." with that both men left the room.
"I'll work on the proposal with both teams and resubmit it for your approval Mr. Blackthorne." she said as she gathered her belongings.
Eric stood at the door watching his boss staring at the woman in front of him who was oblivious to the piercing gaze.
"Of course Ms. Beaumont." they both walked out of the meeting room side by side. People in the hallway would look at the pair and couldn't help but admire how much they both seem to match each other so well.
"Let me show you out."
"No need, I can find my way."
"Let me walk you to the elevator then." she then walked in its direction, Alexander could help the small smile that graced his face, he quickly followed her. Eric was puzzled by Alexander's behaviour.
'What is wrong with Mr. Blackthorne today? He's usually a lot more reserved.'

"I thought I was imagining it but now I'm sure."
"What are you talking about Stefan?" Liam glanced at his friend who was watching Ms.Beaumont and Mr. Blackthorne.
"Mr. Blackthorne kept staring at Ms. Beaumont throughout the meeting. I thought he wasn't paying attention to the proposal but then he spoke about them so I thought I was wrong but look at him now."
Liam looked up at the pair, he noticed Evangeline saying something to Alexander then walking away and him standing there with a small smile before eventually following her.
Liam's eyes widen
"See, I wasn't wrong."
