Gamer, fixing the fates of fictional characters

Chapter 16: Another Suprise

"Now that we know more about your Elemental affinities, let's go over to the next point. I heard you also trained in Kenjūtsu those last years; how proficient do you think you are in that discipline?" Inosuke continued on.

"Yeah, before the training can officially start we need a good overview on your current capabilities," agreed the Shimura Head.

"Well, I'd say I can handle myself when it comes to the sword. Till now I've trained with a few teachers, from them I learned and adapted my own style that encompasses aspects of their styles."

"Good, to really see for ourselves you should have a little spar with one of us," Inosuke suggested, his calm and measured tone showing no hint of the challenge inherent in his words.

Kaitou's golden eyes flicked between the gathered clan heads, curiosity and a spark of excitement visible in his gaze. "Alright, I'm up for it. Who's going to step forward?"

Before anyone could volunteer, Madara Uchiha smirked, stepping slightly closer. "Why not make it interesting and let me test him? I've been itching for some exercise, and this might be amusing."

Tobirama immediately interjected, a scowl deepening his already stern features. "Madara, you have a tendency to take things too far. We need to test his skills, not crush him."

Madara scoffed, folding his arms. "Oh, please. I'll hold back. It's not as though I'm going to use my Sharingan." He glanced at Kaitou. "Unless the 'wonder boy' thinks he can handle a real challenge?"

Kaitou tilted his head, his lips curling into a confident smile. "I'll spar with anyone, Uncle Madara - though, I'd appreciate if you didn't go too hard on me. I'm still young, after all."

Madara laughed. "Fair enough, boy. I'll go easy on you."

"Absolutely not," Hashirama cut in, his usual cheerful demeanor replaced with surprising authority. "You'd scare the kid before he even starts his training officially. Inosuke, you made the suggestion, so why don't you handle it? Besides, you're skilled enough with a blade to give him a solid test."

Inosuke gave a slight bow, his long hair swaying with the motion. "As you wish, Lord Senju. Kaitou, if you're ready, we'll keep this straightforward - no ninjutsu, only Kenjūtsu. Let's see what you've got."

Kaitou nodded eagerly, drawing his sword from its sheath in a smooth, fluid motion. The blade gleamed in the morning light, and it was clear he took excellent care of it.

The group cleared space on the training ground, forming a loose circle around the two. Inosuke pulled out his own katana, its hilt ornately decorated with the Yamanaka clan's floral motifs. He held it loosely in one hand, his posture relaxed but radiating control.

"Begin," Hashirama announced.

Kaitou moved first, testing the waters with a quick, probing strike aimed at Inosuke's side. Inosuke deflected it with almost lazy ease, his blade moving like water. "Your stance is solid," Inosuke commented. "But don't hold back; come at me like you mean it."

Kaitou didn't need to be told twice. His strikes came faster and sharper, each one flowing seamlessly into the next as he shifted angles and adjusted his footing. His movements were unorthodox but precise, blending different styles into a unique, unpredictable rhythm.

Inosuke's eyes narrowed slightly as he adjusted, blocking and parrying with greater focus. He was clearly surprised by Kaitou's creativity and adaptability. "Not bad," he said, his tone approving. "You've got talent, but let's see how you handle the pressure."

The Yamanaka head suddenly shifted gears, his movements becoming faster and more aggressive. Kaitou barely had time to react as Inosuke's strikes came at him from unexpected directions, forcing the younger swordsman to rely on instinct as much as skill.

For a moment, Kaitou faltered, his stance breaking under the relentless assault. But then his expression hardened, and he pushed back, using his chakra to enhance his speed and precision. He ducked under one of Inosuke's strikes and countered with a well-placed slash aimed at the older man's shoulder.

Inosuke sidestepped just in time, a genuine smile spreading across his face. "Impressive. You're quick to adapt and not afraid to take risks. You've got the instincts of a true swordsman."

The spar continued for several more minutes, the clang of steel ringing out across the training ground. By the end, both combatants were breathing heavy, though it was clear Inosuke had been holding back while Kaitou was giving it his all.

"Enough," Hashirama called, stepping forward to separate them. "Well done, both of you. Kaitou, you've shown us a lot today."

Kaitou sheathed his sword, bowing deeply to Inosuke. "Thank you for the spar, Lord Yamanaka. It was an honor."

Inosuke returned the bow with a nod. "You've got potential, Kaitou. With proper training, you'll become a formidable Kenjūtsu user."

Madara, who had been watching with crossed arms and a critical eye, chuckled. "Not bad, brat. But don't let all this praise go to your head. You've still got a long way to go."

Kaitou grinned, undeterred by the Uchiha's harsh tone. "I wouldn't expect anything less, Uncle Madara."

"Good, now that we all know what you are capable of we can easier design a proper training plan. As for your physical fitness, I think Chouichiro should have seen enough in that Spar to work with it," spoke Shikakane after Kaitou regained his breath.

When the tests for Kaitou were done for the day, all of those who refused or were unable to teach Kaitou excused themselves after short well wishes towards Kaitou. The rest walked back t camp together, though, Madara as always kept a certain distance to the others.

Back in camp the group split up in two teams, one of them was Kaitou and his mother who were accompanied by Tobirama, as he wanted to tell him something, and the rest were the remaining Leaders of their clans who went once again towards the commanding tent to discuss the full schedule for Kaitou's training.

On Kaitou's side, while they were walking Tobirama was mostly silent till they then reached their cabin, as they reached it Shizuka invited him in for a cup of tea which he politely declined. She understood that what he wanted to say was between her son and him, so she excused herself and went inside.

Once she disappeared inside the cabin, Tobirama pulled something out of his pouch on his leg and handed it to Kaitou, it was a scroll. "Here, now that we start your training fully and because I know of your expertise in Seals, I thought this could be of great help for you in the Future, it's something I created myself, this is called the 'Flying Thunder God' Jutsu. It combines both my expertise in Fūinjutsu as well as my experience in Ninjutsu."

To say Kaitou was surprised would be a great understatement, without his [Gamers Mind] his eyes would probably be nearly popping out of their sockets. His mind was in complete turmoil, 'This is the 'Flying Thunder God'! One of his signature Jutsu and he is giving it to me just like this?

"Don't worry, I d expect you to learn and master it any time soon, I just wanted to give it to you early, as it is a very complicated Jutsu to learn. For now just study the seal and the theory and don't practice it without me present, it could be very dangerous otherwise."

Without much more pleasantries he excused himself and soon joined the others in the tent.

There they discussed the many things that needed to be part of Kaitou's training, like his Kekkei Genkais that would be supervised by Hashirama and Tobirama, his normal Ninjutsu training which would be held by Madara and Tobirama with Hashirama present to keep both of them in check, his strategy lessons and physical training will be fully supervised by the Ino-Shika-Cho Trio and everyone else will help in their special fields.
