Gamer, fixing the fates of fictional characters

On the way back, Kaitou thought about the meeting just now, he wondered about it all as it seemed to be too easy to convince the various heads… at that moment he thought that it wasn't worth it to think about it right now and rather see how tomorrow will go.

Back in their lodge he locked himself in his room after dinner and practiced his chakra control. For this he didn't use any of the methods used in the show originally, like tree walking or water walking. Kaitou created his own method of an chakra control exercise.

This method used fine control in the way of forming his chakra into thin threads and just play around with them. He would either send one out for as far as he can control it and try to make it farther and farther with each time, or he would create forms or patterns in the air, though, the best form he could use effectively right now were just something along the lines of a net, but he just started, so there was still a long way to go with this.

He used the way how puppeteers in Naruto used chakra strings to control their puppets as inspiration.

He did this until it was late at night before going to sleep. While he didn't really need to sleep every day, he still kept this habit as it just felt more natural and he no matter what never wanted to let go of some things that made him human.

The next morning, six a clock sharp, he alongside his mother met the others on a relatively small and remote training ground. Most of the participants of last nights meeting were here, even some of them who said they couldn't help him, as even they were interested in what that boy would be like.

"Ah, Kaitou! How was the first night outside your clan grounds and Land of Whirlpools over all? Hope you're rested enough to start your training today," upon spotting Kaitou, Hashirama with his always cheerful demeanor instantly greeted and checked up on him.

"Good morning, the night was good and I'm rested enough to start the training immediately," Kaitou, answering Hashirama flashed him a grin with a thumbs up to symbolize his enthusiasm.

At that moment, Tobirama stepped forward and began, "For starters we should find out what your main affinity is, as while your test showed that you had every affinity, normally ninja have one affinity that they truly shine in. For me that is Water, and for that vile Uchiha it is Fire for example."

When Madara heard that insult another bickering between them started, which everyone present just ignored for now, besides Hashirama who once again had to stop their conflict from escalating.

Kaitou, also ignoring the commotion thought about his uncles words for a moment and had to agree with them. "Okay, and how do I find out which one is my strongest affinity?"

This time it was the sleepy Nara head who spoke, "For that there are a couple of tests we can make, one for each of the five main elements. …"

When he continued he explained how these test worked. For fire it was to control a small flame of a candle and try to increase it. Water was to move some in a bowl. Wind was the same as was shown in the show, just using the chakra to cut a leave. The earth test resolved around reforming some clay and dirt. Last but not least, for the lightning test he had to create a small charge between his fingers. His strongest element should be the one that feels the most familiar and is the easiest to use.

Once Kaitou understood all the test he started them one after the other, when he started with the fire element, Madara's gaze become more focused, the same with Tobirama at the Water Test, and Hashirama on the Earth Test. The other clan heads just looked on and observed for now.

Kaitou going through the tests, meanwhile was facing a small problem, while none of the elements posed much of a problem, none of those really felt right and familiar.

So upon finishing with the last test, silence emerged and everyone looked at him with interest, while Kaitou face was unreadable before he started awkwardly, "Ehm, is there another method or possibly another element?"

"What do you mean? Did none of them feel right, at all?" asked a surprised Chouichiro.

"I mean I could use all of them and it worked good, but it just didn't feel right, it was as if they were too… light, I guess."

On the mention of this the two Senju brothers were struck with the same idea at the same time, this whole scenario was just too familiar for the two of them.

"Say Kaitou, would you say when using the elements, it felt like something was… missing? By any chance," Tobirama asked with a cautious tone.

"Yeah, that seems fitting. It was weird, in those tests most of them felt incomplete…, do you know something about this?"

"Well you could say that, because I've experienced something similar back then, before I had awakened my Wood Release."

"Do you mean I could have an elemental Kekkei Genkai as my strongest element? Isn't this a bit weird?" Kaitou couldn't hold back his thoughts, so he asked in a slightly suspicious tone.

Kaitou's suspicious tone hung in the air as Tobirama exchanged a knowing glance with Hashirama. The two brothers were clearly reminded of their own experiences with discovering unique affinities, but this situation was even more peculiar.

"It's not weird at all," Hashirama said, stepping forward with a grin that tried to mask the seriousness of the moment. "It just means you're special - more than we initially thought. You're not bound by just one element. Sometimes, when someone has an exceptional chakra nature or lineage, they can create something entirely new. For me, it was the combination of Earth and Water that gave rise to my Wood Release. For you, well… we'll have to see."

Kaitou's brow furrowed as he processed this. "So, what do I do now?"

Tobirama rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "You'll need to channel your chakra more deeply and let it flow naturally. You might find that your true nature is a combination of elements. To trigger it, you'll need a more intense exercise than the ones we used earlier."

"Let's try something practical, that feeling from before happened with the earth element right? Let's start with that," Hashirama suggested, clapping his hands together. "Kaitou, I'll create an earth platform. Focus your chakra into it and see what happens. No holding back!"

Hashirama weaved a series of quick hand signs, slamming his palms into the ground. A flat, sturdy slab of earth rose in front of Kaitou. "Go on. Channel your chakra through this and try to reshape it however feels natural."

Kaitou nodded, stepping forward and placing his hands on the earth. He closed his eyes, focusing deeply. Slowly, he pushed his chakra into the slab. At first, it felt resistant, like the earth wasn't responding to him. But as he concentrated harder, something shifted. The ground beneath his palms softened, becoming sticky and loose.

The others gasped as the solid platform turned into a dark, viscous mud that spread outward like a creeping swamp. Kaitou opened his eyes, startled by what he had done.

"Is that…?" Shikakane Nara's usually bored expression sharpened. "Swamp Release? Since when was this possible?"

"Swamp Release is normally a combination between Earth and Water Release," Tobirama confirmed, studying the mud with interest. "Though, I have to agree, I never heard of it as an extra Kekkei Genkai. Seems like you created your own Kekkei Genkai just now, Kaitou, and that on your first try. Impressive."

Kaitou looked at his hands, amazed but still feeling that sense of incompleteness. "It's strong, but… it's not everything. Something's still missing."

Tobirama raised an eyebrow. "You think there's more?"

Hashirama chuckled, patting Kaitou on the back. "Let's push it further! If you've already awakened one Kekkei Genkai, there's no reason you can't awaken another. Just now you tried Water, then let's try with fire this time."

This time, Hashirama created another platform - this one a flat, fireproof slab. Kaitou hesitated for a moment before placing his hands on it. Drawing in a deep breath, he pushed his chakra outward again, letting it flow freely without restraint. The slab began to heat up, glowing faintly red. Suddenly, a molten liquid burst forth, bubbling and flowing over the sides of the platform.

"What the-" Kaede Inuzuka leaped back, startled. "It's lava!"

"Lava Release," Tobirama confirmed with a sharp nod. "The combination of Fire and Earth. A rare rare Kekkei Genkai."

Kaitou pulled his hands back, staring at the molten rock in awe. His chakra felt more natural now, as if something had finally clicked into place. "This… this feels right."

What he didn't say, was that it seemed that there was still more. He kept it hidden for now, as this whole scene was already surprise enough for everyone present for now.

"Well, this explains a lot," Hashirama said with a grin, gesturing toward the swamp and lava now covering the training ground. "You're not just a prodigy, Kaitou. You're a prodigy with dual elemental Kekkei Genkai. That's basically unheard of."

The gathered clan heads exchanged murmurs of amazement. Even Madara, who had been watching in stoic silence, raised an eyebrow. "Tch. Typical Senju luck," he muttered, though there was a hint of begrudging respect in his voice. He still had hope there would be more with Kaitou's Fire Release, but for now he kept that to himself.

Shizuka, who had been quietly observing from the sidelines, stepped forward and placed a hand on Kaitou's shoulder. "It seems the Hozuki and Uzumaki bloodlines have given you more than just strong chakra. You're destined for great things, my son."

Kaitou nodded, still processing the enormity of what he had just discovered. "So… what now? How do I train with these?"

Tobirama crossed his arms, his expression calculating. "Now that we know your affinities, we can create a training plan to help you master both Swamp and Lava Release. But don't expect it to be easy. Kekkei Genkai are powerful, but they require precision and control. And to be honest from what I see with both of them, precision will be even harder, but we should be able to still help you with them."

Hashirama grinned. "Don't worry, Kaitou! With all of us here, you've got the best teachers in the world. You'll master these in no time."

Kaitou also let a bit of enthusiasm show, at the encouragement. "Alright, let's do this!"
