"A custom-designed [Longinus]?" Mika's eyes lit up. His initial goal had been to understand the structure of a Sacred Gear, then have Gabriel create a fake one.
He hadn't anticipated that she would be able to create a—[Longinus] after analyzing Boosted Gear.
"You mean an—Artificial Sacred Gear?" He was somewhat familiar with those.
Azazel—Governor General of the Fallen Angels, was an expert in creating artificial Sacred Gears, replicating existing ones with slightly weaker performance.
"An artificial Sacred Gear? What's that?" Gabriel asked, then continued, "I'm talking about a genuine Sacred Gear, a true [Longinus]."
"By analyzing—Boosted Gear, I now understand the God of the Bible's design principles. And with my far greater knowledge base, why shouldn't I be able to create one myself?"
Mika's excitement grew.
…
Back at his apartment, Mika and Gabriel began discussing the creation of the [Longinus].
"Creating a [Longinus] usually requires rare materials or powerful beings, like the Heavenly Dragons used to create Boosted Gear and Divine Dividing," Gabriel explained.
Heavenly Dragons were on par with God-class beings.
"Then what should we use?" Mika asked. He didn't have any Heavenly Dragon-level materials.
"We can use the—[Noble Phantasms] you acquired in the Type-Moon world."
"[Noble Phantasms]?" Mika's eyes lit up.
As his strength increased, the only [Noble Phantasms] he regularly used were Diarmuid's dual spears and Lancelot's sword, Arondight. He had never used Enuma Elish, the sword he had taken from Gilgamesh.
The reason was simple: a Noble Phantasm's power was fixed, determined by the legend of the Heroic Spirit it was associated with.
Could the [Ea] wielded by Gilgamesh in the Fate series compare to the one he wielded in 'Fate/Grand Order'? Not at all.
The former couldn't even destroy the floor of Ryuudou Temple, while the latter could slay even creator gods.
The [Ea] in Mika's possession was roughly equivalent in power to his Heavenly Fire: Calamity Annihilation at Level 3.
But he was now Level 6, and Calamity Annihilation's power had grown significantly, even undergoing a transformation.
Ea's power, however—remained unchanged. Therefore, he had never used it.
The other [Noble Phantasms] were similar. Only the close-combat weapons served as suitable replacements for his usual gear.
"Although the power of some of your [Noble Phantasms] no longer matches your current strength, their inherent rank is incredibly high," Gabriel explained.
"With some modifications, we can restore them to their full potential, perhaps even surpass it."
...
Mika retrieved the various [Noble Phantasms] from his storage Teigu and spread them on the floor, allowing Gabriel to choose.
Besides those he had acquired from other Servants during the Holy Grail War, most of his collection came from Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon.
During their battle, Gilgamesh had unleashed a barrage of A-rank and higher [Noble Phantasms], several of which Mika had managed to snatch.
However, he couldn't use them properly; he couldn't unleash their true powers. Even—Arondight was used solely for its sharpness and durability.
To him, they were merely weapons.
If Gabriel could unlock their true power, it would be a significant boon.
After careful consideration, Gabriel selected four [Noble Phantasms]: three spears and one sword: Gáe Dearg, Gáe Buidhe, and Durandal.
The fourth was a spear he had never used, taken from Gilgamesh's treasury:
[Vasavi Shakti: O' Sun, Abide to Death].
"We'll use this spear's power as the [Balance Breaker] for your new [Longinus]. If you can reach that level, you'll be able to unleash its true power," she said, examining the spear.
"Using a—Sacred Gear's Balance Breaker to channel its power?" Mika mused.
The [Balance Breaker] was a unique ability of Sacred Gears in this world.
When the wielder's desires and willpower reached a certain threshold, defying the world's natural order, the Sacred Gear would enter its [Balance Breaker] state, unlocking its full potential.
It was considered forbidden power, a dangerous technique that disrupted the world's balance.
"What an ingenious idea!"
Gabriel chuckled at his praise. "It sounds simple, but there are still many obstacles to overcome. It will take time."
"Time isn't an issue." With his ability to travel between worlds, he could simply leave and return once the [Longinus] was complete.
"Good. By the way, based on the current materials, your [Longinus] will be a spear. Is that alright?"
"That's fine." Mika had anticipated this, having seen her choose Vasavi Shakti. It wouldn't be a problem.
While his swordsmanship was his greatest strength, his spear skills were equally impressive.
Both were his preferred weapons.
Besides, he was a Master of All Weapons.
"Alright, then you can start designing its appearance now."
…
With the design process underway, Mika relaxed. Until the—[Longinus] was complete, he couldn't proceed with his plan.
Therefore, instead of worrying, he focused on the task at hand.
Time passed, and Issei and his Fallen Angel "girlfriend" grew closer. They made plans for a date on Saturday.
"Young love—" Mika murmured, watching them from a distance.
Then his expression turned serious. "It seems I need to return."
They wouldn't be able to complete the [Longinus] in time. After all, he now needed a genuine Sacred Gear, not just a fake aura signature.
He watched Issei leave. "I haven't even been here a few days, and I already have to leave. This world of gods and devils…it's truly a challenge." He shook his head and disappeared into the shadows.
…
...
With a flash of light, he reappeared in his apartment.
"I'm back." He looked around, satisfied. He had just returned from Orario.
To buy time for the Longinus's creation, he had returned to his original world.
However, he hadn't spent all his time there.
He had also visited the 'One Piece' World, where Airmid and Mellie were thoroughly enjoying their adventures.
Esdeath had become a Marine Admiral, and Airmid a Vice Admiral. Mellie, however, had infiltrated the World Government, seemingly intending to replicate their actions in the Empire.
Seeing them so busy, Mika hadn't stayed long.
He had explored briefly, acquiring—[Haki], a unique power system of that world.
He focused his will, and his arm turned black, coated in [Haki].
"[Haki]—interesting." He was always pleased to acquire new abilities. "But this is even more satisfying—"
"My [Longinus]." The black coating on his arm dissipated, replaced by a brilliant light that coalesced into a long, blue spear. Its design was sleek and elegant, the tip gleaming with a silver light. The spearhead itself resembled a short sword, or rather—a short sword.
Crafted from Gáe Dearg, Gáe Buidhe, Durandal, and Vasavi Shakti, it possessed a combination of their powers:
A blade sharp enough to cut through anything.
An unbreakable shaft.
A magic-severing enchantment.
A curse that prevented wounds from healing.
These were its abilities in its base form. And thanks to its nature as a Sacred Gear, it had the potential to evolve even further.
The [Balance Breaker] would unlock its true power.
But Mika hadn't reached that level yet.
"For now—this is more than enough." He swung the spear, a smile playing on his lips.
It was his first real acquisition in this world.
And he would acquire more.
"With this, all the preparations are complete."
"Now, all I need is an opportunity to step onto the stage." As an adventurer who aspired to be a hero, he didn't mind waiting in the shadows.
However, he preferred the spotlight.
The feeling of being the center of attention was intoxicating.
…
The next day, fully prepared, Mika followed Issei, observing his blissful ignorance.
"Love scams—they're truly despicable," he muttered, enjoying a bowl of ramen while watching the young couple from a distance.
He knew the Fallen Angel would act in the evening, so until then, there was no need to intervene.
As dusk settled, and Issei and his "girlfriend" headed towards a park, Mika, enjoying an ice cream cone, followed them.
They reached a fountain surrounded by trees.
"Issei," Yuuma Amano said, turning to face him, "to commemorate our first date, could I ask you for a favor?"
"A favor? What is it?" Issei's voice trembled with anticipation, imagining various romantic possibilities.
"Could you—Die?"
"Huh? Did I hear that correctly? Could you repeat that, Yuuma?"
"I asked, could you please die?" she repeated gently.
Just as Issei was struggling to process her words, a black feather drifted down before him.
Then, a pair of black wings sprouted from Yuuma's back, her expression turning cold and lifeless. Light gathered in her hand, coalescing into a spear of light.
"I enjoyed our time together, Issei. It was like playing house with a child." Her voice, too, had lost its warmth.
With blinding speed, she hurled the spear of light towards Issei's heart.
But just as it was about to strike, a figure leaped from the shadows, intercepting the attack.
With a flick of his wrist, Mika shattered the spear of light with his own.
"So that's why the girl I saw with Issei earlier had such a murderous aura. She was planning to kill him," he chuckled, licking his ice cream cone. "So, what are you? An Angel? No—a Fallen Angel, judging by those black wings."
Yuuma, hovering in mid-air, ignored his words, her gaze fixed on the spear Mika held.
"That's—the aura of a Sacred Gear!"
"You're a Sacred Gear wielder!"
