Wings of Fire in MHA

As the second day went by, Carter noticed that during the lessons a boy with spiky red hair kept side-eying him and wondered what he wanted, but soon found out when the bell rang when it was time for lunch. "Hey I'm Kirishima Eijiro, wanna eat lunch with me?" he ask as Carter stood up "Sure why not." and with that they walked down to the cafeteria which Carter just adored. The one making the food was a hero called Lunch Rush and his food was amazing and a small part of him wanted to kidnap the man so that he could only cook for him the food was so good. Getting his food and sitting down Carter glanced around the table and recognized a few faces from yesterday's test. Sitting across from him was Kirishima and sitting next to him was Kaminari and sitting next to Hanta and Shoji. As they ate they all asked plenty of questions about each others quirks with Carter liking Shojis the most with how versatile it was, Hanta's was interesting but he would have to work a bit to find more uses for it, Kaminari was pretty cool too he thought as they finally asked him, "So Carter, what's your quirk, I mean you've got wings and a tail so it must be something cool right?" Kaminari asked as a few classmates at other tables leaned in, "My quirk is 'Dragon' it gives me immense strength and speed, as well as a decent healing factor and enhanced senses plus the wings and tail as you can see." he explained and surprisingly Shoji asked a question "Don't you get overwhelmed with the enhanced senses, I know I do when I change my tentacles into extra ears of eyes, all the feedback gives me a headache if I keep them too long."

Carter gave a small smile "That's a good question and yeah at first it was rough, but over time I've gotten it under control and can even limit my senses to a normal degree." he said as he let his senses go to give an example, "There are five different spices in each plate of food, Kirishima is wearing old spice deodorant and Izuku is mumbling under his breath trying to figure out if my quirk changes any biological functions." he said as Izuku nearly choked two tables away and Kirishima admitted to using old spice. What he didn't tell them was how awful the cafeteria smelled of B.O and that he could smell the shampoo that each person around him had used and that he could hear Aizawa talking to someone about their next class and to not go 'overboard' in the teachers lounge, but he didn't want to freak them out so he kept all that to himself.

Seeing as he had been found out Izuku managed to get brave enough to come over to their table and sit to actually ask him questions, "So do your wings affects what clothes you can wear? What about your tail, How far can your senses go, how much lift do your wings produce, can you breathe fire like a dragon or is it just the strength, can you transform can you . . ." "Stop stop stop, dude your going a mile a minute and even though I can keep up, Your giving everyone else a headache and Katsumi looks like she wants to murder you right now." Carter said stopping Izuku's rampant mumbles that already fried Kirishima and Kaminari brains, he noticed even Todoroki who was a table away hold his head in pain as Izuku wasn't the quietest with his questions.

Izuku squeaked out a "Sorry" before looking at him with expectation, "Sigh, no my wings and tail don't get in the way, I can sense roughly within a few dozen yards around me, the only lifting I do is weighs and as for fire, don't worry about it . . ." he said with a smirk as Izuku took out a notebook from somewhere and started writing down what Carter told him like it was scripture which only seemed to enrage Katsumi even more as she got up and stopped out of the cafeteria.

After more enthusiastic questions (At a slower pace thankfully) from Izuku and other classmates who were curious, lunch finally ended and they headed back to class. As they sat down and Carter put his headphones on he got to listen to at least one song before he felt a presence approaching at high speed before 'BAM' "I'm coming through the door, like a normal person!!" All Might yelled as he made his entrance. The class erupted in surprise "OMG ITS ALL MIGHT!" a pink girl yelled as Izuku matched that energy "IT'S HIS SILVER AGE OF AMERICA COSTUME, THAT'S SO COOL!!" he said with stars in his eyes. As he stepped in All Might waited for the class to calm down slightly before he spoke with that huge grin on his face, "Greetings young heroes, I will be your heroics teacher!" he said as he took out a remote and clicked it causing a panel in the wall to move revealing several briefcases with numbers, "As you remember you all filled out those form and based on the info you gave us we made you all hero costumes, so suit up and meet me at Field B!" he said before leaving taking the wind with him as everyone rushed to get their costume and change.

In the guys room everyone was ecstatic as they changed into their costumes, Carter when he was filling out the form knew that as he got older his strength would naturally increase as would ihs durability, just to draw blood he had to enchant a knife so when designing his costume he went with a more flexible battle armour, a simple chestplate with pauldrons that covered most of his torso and stopped right above his chest with slots in the back that he could fit his wings through, along with simple vambraces and shin guards though the vambrace was kinda useless as when he brought out his claws scales covered his arms up to the elbow so ya know . . . but as for everything else he had simple, sturdy combat boots along with a utility belt and all this was over a dark blue body suit that showed off his impressive muscles gained through Cathleen pushing him since he was ten years old. (Imagine a 40k Guardsmen armour with a Cyberpunk netrunner suit instead of fatigues and there you go)

As he changed and put on his armour Kirishima exclaimed "That looks so cool and manly dude, what made you go with that?" he said as Carter looked over his pants as Kirishima's costume had no shirt "Well I wanted to have my vitals protected and thought why not go with something a soldier would wear, plus I just needed the mobility since my quirk makes my skin pretty hard" he said as he finished with his utility belt as left for Field B.

Reaching the field he saw that a few other had arrived but instead of looking at the guys flashy costumes of the girl revealing ones he instead walked up to All Might, "What can I do for you young Carter?" he said with his trademark smile as Carter looked up to the man who was over a foot taller than him "Cathleen says hi" he said as All Might's smile somehow got bigger as he thanked him and asked him to return the favor next time he talked to Cathleen. As he was done with that he turned his attention back to the other as most of the class had arrived, he watched with amusement as Izuku and Ochako were blushing furiously after she had gotten right up in his face in excitement before realizing how skin-tight her costume was, looking around Carter saw that most of the girls had skin tight costumes with Yaoyorozu having most of her chest right out in the open 'Humans are so weird' he thought shaking his head as All Might called them together.

"Alright, now that you're all suited up it's time for hero training and today's lesson will be battle training!" he said as several students got excited, even Katsumi looked excited to blow someone up while other were confused thinking they would fight robots again, when asked however All Might surprise them "No actually, instead you will be facing each other, in our line of work everyone sees the bank robbery and hostage situations, but the more intelligent villains tend to keep things inside where they have the advantage and can hide their various illegal dealings, so todays exercise is this. One team will be the heroes that have to run into a building where a pair of villains are hiding a bomb, the heroes have to touch the bomb or capture the villains using capture tape to win, for the villains you either have to capture the heroes or keep them away from the bomb for the ten minutes that each group will get, now come pick a ball from these boxes to determine what team you'll be in." he said as he stepped to the side and they each picked out a ball with a letter on it.

The teams were as follows

A-Izuku and Ochako

B-Shoto and Shoji

C-Momo and Carter 

D-Katsumi and Ida

E-Yuga and Mina

F-Sato and Minoru 

G-Denki and Kyouka

H-Fumikage and Tsuyu 

I-Ojiro and Toru

J-Kirishima and Sero

"All right now that we have our teams lets see who will be going first!" All Might said as they paired off with each other, he pulled out two balls, Team A vs Team D would be next. 'I almost feel sorry for him' Carter thought as he saw the feral grin Katsumi gave Izuku as the poor boy shivered before he and Ochako went to go strategize, "As for the rest of you, follow me to the command center so we can observe what they do." All Might says leading the way as the class follows.

As they walk Carter notices Momo get closer and guesses that she'll want to think of a strategy before hand, "Hello Carter, would you like to think of a strategy now or when its our turn?" she asks him "Later since we don't know who we're up against yet and someone might hear our plan." he said as she nodded "All right." 

Reaching the control center All Might talks about several ideas that they could use and before long the warmup time is over, Carter's feeling about Katsumi was correct as she immediately blasted her way down the building and he saw Ida start to move things around where they placed the bomb, but he soon turned his attention back to Katsumi as she was now fighting Izuku and was giving the boy a thrashing, he did manage to fight back however and Carter guessed that he had know her for years and knew all her tricks but did have a bit of a suprise when Izuku managed to swing Katsumi over his head and slam her to the ground using her body weight against her, he also spotted Ochako making her way up the building and physically heard Katsumi scream in rage as she blasted Izuku through a wall before he could get the capture tape on her. She was right on his heels and right when she was about to land a hit Izuku redirects the hit but she still uses her momentum and explosion to swing around to his back and grabbing his arm, slams him to the ground getting her payback for earlier. 

Shifting his attention Carter sees Ochako has found the bomb and is trying to get to it while Ida keeps her away from it, 'He cleared out the area around him' he noticed not giving Ochako anything to grab onto with her quirk 'Not bad' he thought as a massive explosion went off and looking he saw that Katsumi had done somethings with her gauntlet that caused a massive explosion, surprisingly All Might had something to say about that "Young Bakugou, if you use that move again you will automatically lose, this is your only warning." he said sternly as Katsumi cursed and went back to pummeling Izuku.

As the fight drags on eventually Izuku starts to run away but Carter notices he keeps talking into his earpiece, probably with Ochako as she starts to move around as well. Katsumi soon catches him but this time Carter feels that energy build up is Izuku again and realizes that he's going to finally use his quirk, Izuku swings as Katsumi lets off another explosion, hers hits but Izuku's hits the ceiling above them and Carter watches with amusement as Katsumi realises what just happens as the floor above them starts to crumble and fall apart, the floor with Ida and the bomb on it. As the floor falls out in massive chunks around his Ida is so preoccupied with staying upright that he doesn't notice when the bomb starts to fall, Ochako does however and using her quirk she leaps across and grabs the bomb like a giant egg as All Might declares "Hero Team wins!!" he yells as the students cheer. As All Might leaves to go check on Izuku since he got banged up pretty bad Carter follows because why not. Reaching them he sees All Might getting onto Katsumi for the massive explosion that took out a chunk of the building while encouraging Ida that this minor setback would only help him grow in the future. Once he was done with that he congratulated Izuku and Ochako and sent them down to the nurses office as Izuku couldn't make it on his own so she went with him.

As All Might,Ida,Katsumi and Carter reach the control room again All Might asks who the MVP was for the match and to his delight Momo manages to give exact details on how helpful the things that Ida did such as moving the things that Ochako might have used against him as well as staying focused on the objective even when Katsumi went on a rampage. All Might also pointed out their flaws however such as Katsumi's recklessness and Ida being to rigid and unable to adapt while giving them tips to get better. Drawing the next two teams All Might brought out two balls, Team C as the villains vs Team J as the heroes. Seeing this Carter and Momo moved down and started to think of how to deal with Kirishima's strength and Sero's tape, "I got Kirishima since I got plenty of strength, can you deal with Sero?" he asked as they positioned the bomb on the fourth floor, "Yes, I can make a few things that'll give us an edge, do you need anything?" she said as Carter simply took out his claws, "Fair enough." she said. "Start the match!!" All Might said in their earpieces as Carter burst through the window in the far wall and flew up to see where the 'heroes' where, surprisingly he ran into Sero who likely wanted to start from the top while Kirishima started at the bottom, he watched as Sero tried to wrap him up in tape, but he simply grabbed it a yanked sero towards him and slammed his knee into his gut before striking his temple, a simple takedown 'kill him' he tied him up before he put him on the roof and then headed back inside after telling Momo what he did, as he burst through another window on the third floor and took a deep breath smelling the air, 'down' he thought before balling his fist and striking the floor cracking it, he struck again and the floor gave out and he crashed into the second floor as Kirishima jumped back, "Woah where did you come from!?" he yelled before jumping at him. Carter simply dodged looking for opening that would take him out fast and there were plenty, he struck out with his fist meeting Kirishima's fist before his leg shot out and swept the boys legs out from under him but he grabbed him by the hair gently before setting him down thinking he would give up. He didn't and surged up trying to catch Carter off guard but he simply planted his foot on his chest as he took the boys capture tape and wrapped him up in it. 

"Villain Team C wins!!" All Might announced as he helped Kirishima out of the tape "You're so strong and manly dude!" he exclaimed as Carter just looked at him before flying up to the roof where he found Momo helping Sero out of his tape as well, seeing her struggle he landed and helped her before they all returned to the control room All Might congratulated Momo and Carter before encouraging Kirishima and Sero while asking the others who the MVP was, it was Carter by a long shot but All Might still pointed out good and bad things that they all did to keep things fair.

After that Carter struggled to pay attention to the next two matches as he tackled the voice in his head, 'Stop playing dress up with these children, this is beneath you, is beneath us!' 'I am weak and this will help me get stronger.' 'You will out live each and everyone person on this wretched planet, why bother helping them when they're only going to tear themselves apart in the end? We've seen it happen, why would this time be any different?' 'Because I will guide them to a better future' 'Since when were you so kind?' he didn't have an answer for that, but after seeing the building freeze over he snapped back to attention as that was something worth noting 'Shoto huh' he thought noticing the quiet boy for once, opening his senses a bit more he could sense both fire and ice within him 'But why only use ice?' he wondered before All Might sneaked over to him despite his massive size, surprisingly he spoke english "Carter are you alright? You seem distracted?" he said with a large smile though his tone and volume were much quieter so as to not draw attention to their conversation "Yes I'm alright." he said flashing All Might a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes, All Might noticed this but decided not to push seeing that he wasn't about to talk "Well, if something happens you can always talk to me or Nezu, Midnight is also available as the school counselor." he said before he walked back over to the rest of the students and gave more tips to the ones who had just returned.

'He dares pity US?!' 'He was only showing concern.' 'Yeah, remember what happened last time someone showed us 'concern'' He did, but soon turned his attention back to the view screen as he saw the navel laser boy and the pink skin girl go next, 'Yuga and Mina' both had interesting quirks, Yuga could shoot a laser out of his navel but it gave him stomach cramps while Mina could create acid from any part of her body and change the PH levels as well which could be very versatile with proper training.

As the last team went and everyone finished All Might gathered them all together, "Good work today! Some of you are already very strong and a few of you need to catch up but that's ok, that's why your here, to grow stronger and become heroes, and I will be here to guide you to that dream. PLUS ULTRA!!" "PLUS ULTRA!!" the more enthusiastic students yelled while those like Shoto,Carter and Katsumi remained quiet. As they went back and changed Carter quickly took everything off and put his uniform back on as it was snack time (he stuffs em in his bag) and he was ready to get back to the classroom, lucky timing too as he heard Denki and Mineta start talking about which of the girls looked best in their hero costumes and he did not want to be dragged into that, perhaps feeling the same Shoto also rushed out of the boys locker room and they walked side by side back to the classroom. 

Once they got there Carter wasted no time and dug into his snack, eating a stick of beef jerky while Shoto simply sat at his desk on his phone. Soon others arrived but they were mostly the guys as the girls had to somehow get those skin tight outfits off. "Hey Carter, Shoto, which girl do you think is the prettiest." Kaminari said as the others looked at them expectantly while Carter and Shoto gave them blank stares, "Come on just answer and we'll leave you alone." they begged and getting annoyed Carter finally relented "Ochako and Katsumi have the best appearances but I think I would get along better with Momo or Kyoka, but I refuse to date." Carter said as he pulled out his headphones to avoid anymore of this conversation but did so slowly as even he was curious what Shoto's answer would be. After some more pestering from Kaminari and Mineta, Shoto finally sighed and said "I don't care, I'm just here to get stronger." he said but Minate threw and eraser at him "BOO that's lame, just give us an answer and we'll never as again, I promise." he said as Shoto moved his head to dodge the eraser "Fine, Momo would be someone that my father wouldn't try to chase off." he said before putting his headphones on like Carter did as the girls started to trickle in as the rest of the boys debated (in hushed tones) about why Carter and Shoto seemed to be interested in girl, like how could they? They were men after all, at least that was Mineta's idea as the other shut that idea down and decided to watch them and see how they interacted with the girls later.

After that the day was pretty normal and Carter breezed through the english lesson that Present Mic taught and even helped explain a few things that were a bit difficult even for Mic, and that was the day and Carter headed home and Ochako eventually caught up with him after she finished talking with her new friends, "Have you made any friends yet?" she asked panting after the long day and having to catch up with him, "Yes." he said simply and she didn't say anything else as she was too tired and just wanted to get home. As he reached home he cooked dinner and quickly finished the english 'homework' before doing a brief workout before talking with Abby as John had started basic training and after talking with her about Japan and U.A for half an hour he went to sleep while hoping he would never have such an awful discussion with the other guys as he did today.
