Wings of Fire in MHA

As they met up with the rest of the class, Carter and Ochako quickly changed into their gym outfits before following the others to the stadium. Ochako went over to Izuku and Ida while Carter tried to walk by himself behind the group but Kirishima dragged him over to the rest of the guys as the class got hyped for the day ahead of them. As the went through the underground tunnel connecting the stadium to the main building Carter could slowly feel the life force of several thousand people draw closer as well as hear their shouting and turned down his hearing closer to 'normal' since he knew that it would be very uncomfortable to be around so many shouting people.

Reaching the stadium they were amazed. It was massive with thousands of people screaming upon seeing them and the other hero class come out of the tunnel. Looking around Carter could see lots of heroes as well among the throng of civilians with a section up above the others with VIP people shielded behind glass, but he could still feel them watching them as they stopped near the platform. Waiting for them on the platform was this years referee, the 18+ hero Midnight, he could see why she was so popular as her 'costume' looked more like the outfit for a dominatrix than anything else, but he decided it fit her just fine as he saw her look at them while licking her lips. "You guys got this!" she encouraged us as Present Mics voice sounded throughout the stadium.

"HOW EVERYONE DOIN TODAY!?!" he shouted as he didn't need a microphone while the crowd went wild, "ALRIGHT, AS YOU CAN SEE THIS YEARS REF IS NONE OTHER THAN M I D N I G H T AND WE GOT LOTS OF THINGS PLANNED FOR OUR KIDS TODAY . . . BUT FIRST WE'RE GONNA HEAR A SPEECH FROM THIS YEARS TOP PLACER IN THE ENTRANCE EXAM, WHO'S THE LUCKY KID THIS YEAR BUDDY?" He says turning to Aizawa who is sitting next to him with a couple of bandages and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones that double as a headset "This years top scorer is an exchange student, Carter Bate." he says as MIdnight beacons him forwards.

As he walks up the stairs to the mic he can feel Katsumi's glare boring a hole into his head as he clears his throat. "I'm not one for speeches so I'll just say this . . . I'm gonna win, but I look forward to both the hero course and others trying their best to prove me wrong. Plus Ultra." He finishes before stepping down with a lot more of the student body now glaring at him as a few heroes scoff at his arrogance.

Before the crowd can get riled up however Midnight cracks a whip and announces the first challenge "What brave words huh! Lets see if he can live up to them. Up first a race!! Student will race around the outside of the stadium and as long as they don't attack others and stay of the track they are free to use their quirks to their advantage!" she says as another teachers starts to guide them to the starting line.

Carter takes his time as the others rush past him trying to get to the front of the line for any advantage they can get, as he walks he sees Shoto talking about something with Izuku but turns to Mina as she was towards the back as she asks him "That was pretty bold, you sure you can beat Shoto and Bakugou in a race? Plus there's Ida as well." she says as a few around them notice him and glare at him. He shrugs "I wasn't going to go up there and lie, I'm going to win. It'll be interesting to watch everyone fight for second place though." he says as she just shakes her head in exasperation "Wish I had that kind of confidence." she says before walking over to Tsuyu as Mic's voice is heard, "3,2,1 GO GO GO!!"

Carter jumps as ice forms along the floor trapping peoples feet as Shoto slides over the ice, not to be outdone Katsumi blows the ice trapping her apart before using her explosions to fly after his while cursing him out. Seeing others struggle to get out of the ice Carter considered using his fire to help them, but knowing that he might burn them he decides to just take off, quickly catching up and flying past Shoto and Katsumi as they speed up to try and catch up to him.

After flying a bit, he sees several robots like from the entrance exam and pays them no mind just flying by them as Present Mic goes wild "WHAT A START TO THE RACE!! CARTER LITERALLY FLIES BY SHOTO AND KAKUGOU AND JUST IGNORES THE ROBOTS IN THE WAY!! LOOKS LIKE SOME OF THE STUDENTS AT THE START HAVE GOTTEN FREE SO MAYBE WE'LL SE SOME COMPETITION YET!!"

Carter swoops lowers avoiding a swing from a zero pointer as he speed up hearing Bakugou and Shoto get closer. Seeing how easily Carter avoids the robots Shoto grimaces as he doesn't want to waste time destroying the robots as it would give Katsumi the edge as well as help those starting to catch up, Katsumi has no such qualms and blasts through several robots as Shoto is forced to freeze the area to catch up. Not far behind them Ida is starting to catch up along with the more physically gifted students as they make a mad dash after the ones in the lead.

Picking up speed Carter sees the next obstacle and feels like the course was tailor made just for him "CARTER HAS REACHED THE SECOND OBSTACLE, THE FALL. BUT HE JUST FLIES ON BY WHILE EVERYONE ELSE IS CATCHING UP!" Mic yells as Katsumi slows down due to using her quirk so much as Shoto takes the advantage to pass her, she takes offense to this however "GET BACK HERE ICY-HOT!!" she screams as she blasts off after him again with renewed vigor.

Reaching the Fall Shoto and Katsumi blitzed through it with Shoto making an ice bridge and Katsumi blasting over head. Catching up Ida slid along the ice Shoto left as others braved the ice or just ignored it and used the tightropes that they were supposed to use.

As Carter reached what he thought to be the last obstacle he peered at the ground and the darker spots wondering if UA was really that crazy, as if on cue "CARTER HAS REACHED THE LAST OBSTACLE . . . THE MINEFIELD!! THOUGH THEY WON'T KILL SOMEONE THEY SURE DO HURT!" Mic yelled as Aizawa asked him to turn it down a bit. Wasting no time Carter kept flying but the others didn't have it as easy. As they had been using their quirks for quite some time Shoto and Katsumi were running on fumes and had to traverse the minefield on foot slowing them down massively. As more and more caught up to them several mines went off due to some not paying attention, Izuku had also managed to catch up and seeing the mines got an idea. Paying no mind to the weird looks he got Izuku dug up a good amount of mines and placed them near each other, once he was finished with that he took the piece of metal that he had grabbed from a destroyed zero-point robot and taking a deep breath slammed it down on the mines, launching him forwards with the blast.

As the flew overhead people who saw him picked up speed seeing how fast he was going as Izuku repeatedly slammed the metal onto more mines throwing him further and further until he had passed even Shoto and Katsumi and could now see the finish line, and Carter getting ever closer. With a final slam he flew forward and once he finally cleared the minefield he mobilized the little bit of his quirk that he could safely use and broke out into a sprint towards the finish line with Shoto and Katsumi hot on his tails.

"WHATS THIS?! IZUKU MIDORIYA HAS MANAGED TO CATCH UP AND IS IN SECOND PLACE!! BUT HE STILL HAS TO GET PAST CARTER . . . CAN HE DO IT!?!" Mic yells as the crowd notices what the boy had managed to pull off. Hearing Mic, Carter glanced back and saw Izuku slowly gaining on him, 'His skin is glowing' he noticed as Izuku got within a few dozen meter of him. As he was about to move forward he saw Izuku suddenly speed up with a burst of speed and make a break for the finish, not willing to lose Carter also flapped his wings and shot forward, not wanting to lose to someone who could barely control his own power without getting hurt. To his surprise Izuku was able to stay ahead of him for a full five seconds but ultimately it was useless.

"OMG IT WAS NECK AND NECK RIGHT THERE AT THE END BUT CARTER HAD MANAGED TO GET FIRST PLACE!! IZUKU WAS RIGHT BEHIND HIM WITH A CLOSE SECOND!!" Mic screamed as the crowd went wild, landing next to Midnight who was waiting for them Carter noticed that Izuku seemed a bit crestfallen and walked over to him, "Cheer up, you did better than everyone but me, thats shows how much progress you have made, you managed to beat Katsumi even." he said with a smirk at the end as Izuku smiled then paled at the last part. "T-thank you Carter." he said as Carter waves him off and goes to the rest area as he was starting to get hungry despite not having done much yet. Shoto and Katsumi crossed the finish line soon after and Katsumi was mad, with Midnight dragging her away after she tried to jump Izuku as more and more students crossed the finish line.

Up in the stands Endeavor snorted as he watched Carter walk away, 'just another stepping stone for Shoto' he thought as he left to get out of the sun. In a private room Toshinori watched as Izuku walked away, he wished that he had gotten first but was still incredibly proud of the boy for getting second place as other than Carter, there were still plenty of strong students this year.

As the students gathered and talked about how they did in the race they were called back out, once they were all back out in the stadium Midnight went over the placements, as the ones who didn't pass left to their area Midnight cracked her whip and announced the next event, "Coming up next, the Cavalry Battle! Each contestant will wear a headband with a number on it representing points, the students have to break up into groups of 2-4 and take each others headbands, the team with highest points wins!" she says before she walks over to Carter and in front of everyone, pulls a headband with 10 million on it out from between her massive ti- I-i mean, well endowed chest . . . yeah. Midnight hands Carter his headband with a wink "Go get em tiger~" she purrs as a few 1-A girls suddenly feel very violent 'This bitch' one of them seethes.

"HA HA HA HAAA-URK" Cathleen laughs before choking on her food as she watches the sports festival with a few friends. Taking the headband Carter is now acutely aware of how many men are in the stadium as most of them are now glaring at him with others cheering wildly for him. "Anything for you~" he shoots back at her as she laughs and tells how many points he has placing a large target on his back.

As they break up to find their groups Carter decides not to move and just let them come to him, but since he has the biggest target on his back no one approaches him until a thic- respectable girl with pink dreads comes bounding over. "Hey there, can I join your team?" she says with barely contained excitement, 'what an interesting little creature' he thinks as he sees her eyes have what appear to crosshairs for pupils, "Sure, I don't mind." he says as she squeals "YES, I'm gonna use so many of my babies to show off to those tech companies, oh I can't wait!" she says bringing out several gadgets out from somewhere and starts putting them on herself.

As the time to break up into teams comes to an end and Midnight is about to start, Carter grabs Mei and places her on his shoulders since he has a few dozen pounds and several inches over her she looks almost comical sitting up there. "Start!" Midnight shouts as Shoto, Katsumi and Izuku's teams rush Carter all at once, well Katsumi just blasts off from Kirishima's shoulders and swipes at him but Carter just jumps back before taking to the sky out of reach. "GET DOWN HERE YOU FLYING BASTARD!!" Katsumi yells as Shoto launches ice which he dodges as he starts to fly over the various teams.

As he flies around several teams try to get up to him but with a combination of Mei's gadgets and Carter's wings they manage to keep most at bay and they start to focus on each other seeing that they can't get to them. Even Katsumi gave up after six tries as Carter smacked her down with his tail and her team forced her to focus on getting more points and Shoto and Izuku's team were starting to climb up the leaderboard.

As they waited for the time to run out Carter and Mei had a pretty solid discussion over her inventions, he genuinely liked how she put all her effort into her creations, even if she refused to call them anything other that 'babies'. She had even taken different measurements of his body and wings and offered to rebuild his hero costume if he helped with a few of her projects. By the time they finished hashing out the details the round was over and Carter landed and watched in amusement as Mei jumped off his shoulders and used a pair of hover boots to try and stay eye level with him, but after a few seconds they started to sputter and she fell to the ground.

Walking over Midnight chuckled seeing Mei massage her butt from the fall, "With no points lost, Carter wins with 10 million points!!" she announces as the crowd cheers, she then continues to list the teams that would be going forwards but Carter didn't pay attention as he and Mei booked to to the cafeteria as the school would be providing lunch.

As he got his lunch and sat down next to Kirishima he noticed Kaminari and Mineta glared at him, "What?" he asked knowing exactly why they were mad, "DUDE YOU JUST FLIRTED WITH MIDNIGHT!!" Kaminari said as Mineta nodded his head righteously, "I was only being nice." he said as he started to dig in, "Plus you had that girl with the huge rack right on your shoulders!" Mineta added as Kirishima started to laugh as Sero sat down and joined them. "Well I had to have at least one person on my team and nobody else asked to join, I wasn't just going to forfeit the match." he said as Mineta and Kaminari grumbled as they too started to eat.

Once the lunch break was over with they made their way back to the stadium Midnight announces that the last event of the sports festival would be a fighting tournament. As she explains the rules and is about to draw to see who will fight who both Ojiro and a boy from class 1-B withdraw from the tournament stating they they didn't feel that they had gotten there with their own effort, although she was puzzled Midnight allowed them to withdraw and selected two new students to take their place.

After Midnight finishes drawing the names all appear on the jumbotron and the first watch would be between Izuku and someone named Hitoshi. Looking for his name Carter sees that he is going to fight Mina, she notices this as well and turns to him "You'll go easy on this poor fragile girl right?" she asks making puppy eyes but he just snorts and watchs Izuku walk onto the platform.

As Izuku walks over Carter sees that Hitoshi is actually the purple haired boy from a few weeks ago that dared to try and block his way and is surprised that they boy had a bit of bite in him to backup all that barking. As the match started Izuku rushes in but Hitoshi appears to ask him something with Izuku responding causing him to freeze as Hitoshi grins. Carter watches in fascination as Hitoshi appears to order Izuku to walk out of bounds, as Mic and the ground go crazy at Izuku apparently throwing the match Carter notices that the energy inside of Izuku is starting to get agitated and is moving towards his head, a split second later he sees a sliver of power streak down to Izuku's hand as he flicks his finger, breaking it and snapping out of Hitoshis mind control right at the edge of the platform.

'I really want to know what his quirk is, and why it's so similar to All Mights' Carter thought as Izuku spun around and shouted something at Hitoshi before charging at him, 'Sloppy form, putting all his weight into each swing, pathetic' he notes as Izuku punches Hitoshi out of bounds before helping him up after he is declared the winner. As they walk back to their seats Carter notices Endeavor leave just as Shoto stands up for his match, with All Mights energy signal also moving about closer to Izuku. Paying them no mind as he talks with Kirishima as Shoto and Sero walk onto the platform with Shoto looking aggravated from his runin with Endeavor.

AS the match starts Sero shows good initiative by wrapping Shoto up in his tape and trying to fling him out of bounds but Shoto simply freezes the entire arena platform freeing himself and trapping Sero in the ice. As Midnight declares Shoto the winner he walks over and starts to thaw out Sero using his fire as Endeavor glowers in the stands from his sons refusal to use his quirk.

The next few matches are just as quick boring Carter as the students seem more focused on showing off then actually fighting, he did like how Mei used Ida as a walking advertisement however as it was quite comical to see the boy get flung around by Mei bizarre creations.

Finally it was his turn Carter simply flew down to the platform and waited for Mina so show up, as the match started he wasted no time flying over and kicking Mina out of bounds, he did hold back however as he didn't want to hurt her as she was actually a nice person even if a bit loud and he helped her up after he was declared the winner and walked her down to the infirmary since he did just kick her like a soccer ball.

After leaving Mina with Recovery Girl, he walked back listening as the crowd went crazy with Momo and Fumikage fighting it out. As he turned the corner he stopped abruptly as he almost ran into Endeavor, the #2 hero of Japan. Looking down at him Endeavor scowled "You'd better give Shoto a good battle so that he has to use his fire." he says as Carter raises an eyebrow, what was this about? "If he proves to be worth the effort, I will naturally put in more effort, but if he limits himself there is nothing I can do about that." he says shrugging as he walks away, "Now wait just a minute!" Endeavor says grabbing his shoulder as Carter's head snaps around to face Endeavor with narrowed eyes, "Let. Me. Go." he hisses as he starts to build up a fire blast ready to turn Endeavor into a pile of ash before a new voice arrive "Ah young Carter I was just looking for you! What a coincidence!" All Might says walking over as Endeavor completely forgets about Carter and glares at him, not minding All Might stands there waiting and watches Endeavor walks away grumbling before turning back to Carter.

"Sorry about him, he just gets a bit worked up sometimes." All Might says Carter exhales smoke from the fire he was about to use, "He obviously doesn't like you, don't defend him." Carter snorts as All Might laughs, "I don't mind, if what people thought of me then I wouldn't be a hero, plus I can't have you fighting a hero on campus." he says "Please, I was going to turn him to ash, there wasn't going to be a fight." Carter says as All Might shakes his head "No Endeavors quirk lets him control extremely hot fires, he once used lave to stop a minor tsunami once so fire might not work." he explained as they walked back the student section. 

"How did you know about my fire anyway." Carter asks "During the entrance exam when you burned a whole right in the middle of the zero-point robot, most of its internal systems were slag and Nezu played back to footage and he saw you take a deep breath before the robot started to burn." he explained as Carter nodded his head. He would have to be careful now since it seemed that he was being watched, he didn't blame them however as it was the logical thing to do.

As he sat back down Carter saw Kirishima and a boy that appeared to be made out of metal being dragged out by Cementoss as Katsumi and Ochako got onto the platform 'Oh boy' he thought seeing the dangerous look on Katsumi and new that Ochako would have to pull out all the stops to get through her explosive foe. As the match started Katsumi wasted no time blasting towards Ochako as she dodged all over the place to avoid the explosions, she tried to counter attack but Katsumi had such an advantage that Ochako had to focus just on trying not to get blasted out of the arena. Carter watched bored as Ochako did nothing but dodge but sat up when ne noticed what her plan was. As Katsumi finally managed to land a direct hit on Ochako she watched as the girl was flung several feet away, she thought tat she would finally give up but to Katsumi's annoyance Ochako still stood up but this time she had a weary smile on her face.

Carter enjoyed the look of panic on Katsumi's face when she saw the chunks of platform floating above her. As Ochako released her quirk, the various pieces of debris started raining down and Katsumi had dodge and weave all over the place while blasting the bigger chunks, as they fell they kicked up dust and smoke from the explosions blocking everyone's view, Ochoka slowly got to her feet hoping that Katsumi was unable to continue, but her hopes were dashed as Katsumi flew out from the smoke in a rage and blasted her point blank, throwing her out of the arena were Midnight caught the unconscious girl.

The crowd cheers as Katsumi stomps away and Izuku and Ida get up to go check on Ochako as Kirishima and Tetsutetsu have their rematch. Kirishima ends up winning finally putting an end to the 'manly' contest as Carter sits forward for Izuku and Shoto's match is next.

As they walk out he notices that both boys seem agitated and as the match starts Shoto immediately blasts ice at Izuku only for him to flick his finger useing his quirk creating a shockwave that destroyed the ice while also breaking his finger, Shoto tries again and Izuku breaks another finger but does manage to push Shoto all the way across the arena and he almost goes off the edge but creates an ice wall that stops him from going any further. 

As Shoto launches another blast of ice at Izuku he wonders if his father paid the boy to go all out not knowing that Carter could hear both him and Izuku when they started to yell at each other. 'He sure has the heart but he still lacks the power' Carter thought hearing Izuku's reason for fighting so hard, his minds drifts for a moment as he remembers why he fights so hard but he snaps out of it quickly as Izuku has just broken through Shoto's ice and even managed to land a hit on him but at the cost of his entire arm. 

Carter listens as Izuku berates Shoto for only using half his power as ice starts to form on Shoto from the frost around him. Izuku lands another hit throwing Shoto back but again he catches himself on ice and Carter gets excited as Shoto pauses for a few seconds before he ignites his flames. "SHOTO!!" Endeavor yells is excitement as his son is finally using his full potential as he goes down to see the match closer. Seeing Shoto using his flames Izuku starts to power up for one last attack as Shoto does the same, seeing that they're about to cause a lot of damage Cemantoss slams his hands on the ground and a wall of concrete forms in between the two boys as they let loose their attacks, seeing his ice get destroyed again Shoto uses his flames and the fire combined with the cold air from the ice and the massive amount of wind pressure from Izuku ignite and create a massive shockwave that destroys Cementoss' wall and rattles the audience as they go silent waiting for the mist to settle.

As the mist dissipates they see Shoto standing on the platform with half his shirt missing but he remains unscathed as Izuku shakily stand up panting, out of bounds. He opens his mouth to say something but Izuku's injuries catch up with him and he falls to the ground unconscious, "SHOTO WINS!!" Mic yells as does the crowd as Izuku is taken to the nurse.

As Shoto leaves the arena and walks through the corridor he gets stopped by his father Endeavor, "I'm proud of you son, you've finally stopped this tantrum and have embraced your full potential." he says as Shoto glares at him and he cuts him off before he can continue "I still won't use it, the only reason I used it just now is because I forgot all about you." he said before walking away as Endeavor fumes.

In the nurse's office, Recovery Girl is busy scolding All Might for pushing Izuku so far as his injuries are severe and tells him not to encourage him pushing so far, but before she can berate him anymore Ida,Ochako,Tsuyu and Mineta arrive to check on their friend as Carter walks in a few seconds after him. She doesn't let them stay though as Izuku is about to enter surgery, so she herds them and All Mights out after he says a few words to them. 

Carte heads back first as his match is up next and he is against Fumikage and he looks forward to fighting the bird boy as his quirk is very interesting and he showed decent skill when fighting Momo earlier.

As he enters the stadium the climbs the platform he and Fumikage bow before the match starts. "Begin!" Midnight shouts at Carter dodges a strike from dark shadow and rushes Fumikage 'take out the summoner and the summon goes away' he thought as he slashes as Fumikage but the boy dodges as dark shadow rushes over and punches Carter side but it does little to no damage as Carter swings he arm back slamming his elbow into dark shadow's face.

As it recoils Carter lunges for Fumikage again claws slashing shallow cuts into his uniform as he dodges desperately knowing that in close quarters he stands no chance against Carter who is much stronger physically. Seeing that FUmikage is just stalling for dark shadow to recover he starts to throw in feints as he begins to fight more like a boxer hitting Fumikage in the chest pretty hard as the boy falls and rolls to the side as Carter slams his foot down where he was a second ago.

By now dark shadow has recovered and it rushing over to try and help but Carter pays it no mind as he slowly starts to push Fumikage back to the edge of the arena, getting desperate and calls dark shadow back to him and wraps it around him like a suit of armour. Carter is a bit surprised but still manages to beat back Fumikage as when he wrapped dark shadow around him he became a lot stronger overall as his strength and speed increased. It mattered little however as Carter ducked under a haymaker and punches Fumikage in the chest and as he stumbles back he uses his tail to sweep his legs out from under him but catches him back the back of his uniform before he can hit the ground. "You still want more?" he asks as Fumikage sighs "No, I have stared into the abyss and lost to it." he says as Carter deadpans and lets Fumikage hit the concrete as the crowd cheers. 

After the match Carter goes to the infirmary to check Izuku as Kirishima and Katsumi start their match. Reaching the infirmary he finds Izuku resting with Ochako there talking to them "How ya feeling" he asks as he pulls over a chair "I feel better, but everything still hurts." Izuku says wincing "I was telling him about your match, you and Fumikage fought really well!" Ochako said excitedly as Izuku's eyes lit up "It was so cool when you used your tail! I also noticed that you switched from using your claws to a boxer style of fighting, you also were able to keep up with him once he wrapped dark shadow around him an- oof" he starts to mumble before Carter calmly picks up a pillow next to him and throws it at Izuku hitting him right in the face as that was the least injured.

"Dude, you gotta stop with that mumbling its kinda creepy, you'll never get a girl if you keep scaring them off." Carter says smirking at Izuku who starts stuttering as Ochako defends him "It's not that bad, you barely notice it." she says as Carter just looks at her and raises an eyebrow "Interesting." he says as she freezes and slowly turns red 'So easy I barely have to try' he though as he turns back to Izuku who was mumbling again. "Anyway I heard what you said to Shoto during your match, enhanced senses remember." he says seeing him about to ask "It's nice to have ideals, and your is a good one. The true heroes are the ones that help people regardless of compensation or fame, they help because that what makes them happy and they help other with a smile on their face." he says as Izuku lights up before he sobers up again. "But right now, you're weak and pathetically so, instead of shouting about your ideas get stronger, I can feel your potential but you must take actions now so that you can stand up for what you believe, because when villains find out about you, they're gonna take it as a personal challenge to crush you." he says as Izuku bows his head his expression unreadable.

"You didn't have to be so mean." Ochako says as she pats Izuku on the back as he snorts "Mean? I was just being honest with him. Besides, better he learn now when he can make mistakes in a safe place, rather than later when mistake cost lives." Carter says as he gets up and starts walking out, "Then I'll prove that I'm strong enough." Izuku says as Carter turns around and looks into his eyes, seeing how determined the boy is Carter sighs "I'll be waiting then." he says before leaving the infirmary.

HOSU CITY

As he surveys the city Stain feels anger, anger at the fake heroes who parade themselves around in their fancy costumes saving people for money and for personal fame, he hates every last one of these fake heroes and since he decided to start killing the ones he deemed 'fake' he has felt a deep satisfaction. shlick He cleans his katana as he stands over the body of his most recent victim, the pro hero Ingenium, he wasn't his target but he had gotten in the way and Stain had to kill him before he could call in reinforcements, 'I almost feel bad' he thinks before crouching low and spinning swings his sword at the man behind him who teleports away. 

Coming out of his portal Kurogiri dusts off his vest "I mean no harm Hero Killer, I merely am here to extend an invitation from my master." he says as he gestures to the portal behind as before walking through it. Seeing he meant no harm decided to follow the shadowy man, if only out of curiosity.

After a moment of disorientation Stain looks around and sees that he now in a bar with the shadowy man behind the bar with another man there waiting. Taking a seat he ask for a water as Shigaraki turn to him "I expected you to be larger due to your reputation, Hero Killer." he said as Stain narrowed his eyes. "What does the League of Villains want." he asks getting straight to the point as he has a hunt to get back to. "I want you to join us, together we can strike fear into the heroes and kill All Might!" Shigaraki says with a crazed look in his eyes as Stain scoffs. 

"You just want to make use of my reputation, besides my aim is to kill the those who use the title of 'hero' for selfish means, you just want chaos." he says as he gets up "I won't work with a selfish child who has no real ideas and treats reality like a game." he says as Kurogiri speaks "Don't be so quick to leave, stay for a little and watch the UA sports festival with us, maybe you can point out those who might be heroes for other reasons." he says as Stain pauses considering.

"Fine." he says sitting back down as Kurogiri turn on the TV while refilling his drink. On the TV they see the end of Izuku and Shoto's fight and watch in silence as they are taken away as Carter and Fumikage take the stage. "Thats that brat that was able to keep up with Nomu!" Shigaraki says agitated as he sees Carter "Nomu?" Stain asks not understanding the term but gets no clarification so he turn to watch the fight.

As it drags on he can see that for one SHigaraki is agitated at how well Carter is fighting which does make him feel good but he also sees that the teen is holding back quite a bit, this annoys Stain as he believes that every opponent should be faced with everything one has but Carter appears to be toying with his opponent. 

Even when Fumikage turn dark shadow into armour Carter is still able to keep up and ultimately dominates Fumikage winning his match. "Tell me about the boy with the wings." Stain says as the match ends and Kirishima and Katsumi start their match.

Stain listens as Kurogiri and Shigaraki tell him about what Carter was able to do during their attack on the USJ, he notes several things about the boy. First he was incredibly strong most likely reaching the levels of the top ten since he was able to take blows from Nomu and even throw it around despite it being made to kill All Might, second the boy must be holding back most of the time since Kurogiri claimed that he was hit with fire, so they boy is incredibly strong, can fly,breathe fire and even fight well as the match that they just watched has told them.

"The thing that really bothers me was the look in his eyes as he was fighting the other boy, he looked bored most of the time but he would twitch towards opening that even I noticed while fighting." Stain says as Shigaraki scratches his neck "What are you getting at?" he asks "That boy is hiding something, he will probably be trouble in the future, I don't know what he's doing in a hero school but he is no hero." Stain says while mentally remembering the boys face and abilities to take him down in the future. "The next match is starting." Kurogiri says as they turn back to the TV as Carter and Katsumi walk on the platform.

UA SPORTS FESTIVAL ARENA

As they walk onto the platform for their match Carter and Katsumi had very different expressions. Carter looked as if he was thinking deeply about something and wasn't entirely there and Katsumi was fuming since Carter was 'ignoring' her and not taking the fight serious. As Midnight started the fight Katsumi blasted forward "STOP IGNORING ME BASTARD!!" she yelled as Carter snapped back to reality and dodged as his leg shot out and kicked her back, Katsumi skidded for a few feet before blasting forward again determined to prove how much stronger she was than him.

As Carter dodged and counter-attacked Katsumi grew more and more angry as Carter still had a vacant look in his eyes and hadn't even taken out his claws and was just pushing her back with him fists and legs. Ducking under another jab she swung her leg across to try and trip him but he just jumped and flapped his wings, giving him the height advantage. She didn't let that stop her as she flew up in a rage and swung at him while trying to stay in the air. Carter for his part finally put a bit more brain power into the fight as he knew he shouldn't be thinking of the future while fighting, so he finally focused right as Katsumi's leg was about to hit him right in the face smack he grabbed it stopping it from hitting him "Nice muscle, hit legs more though." he said as Katsumi's voice went up an octave "LET ME GO YOU BASTARD!!" She yelled as Carter smirked "ok." he said lifted her up higher before swinging his arm down, he watched as she shot back down to the platform and tried to slow herself down with her explosion but still hit the ground hard. 

As she stood up shakily Carter landed next to her and wondered if maybe he had thrown her a bit too hard. "You good screamy?" he asked as she glared at him "I let go like you told me too." he said laughing as her hands lit up with more explosions "You making fun of me flyboy?" she growled as he just laughed harder "No why would I am fun of the weak?" he said as she lunged for him again as he flicked his wings and made some distance as he noticed her arms starting to shake 'probably from using her quirk so much' he thought as he dodge another blast aimed at his head as Katsumi kept chasing him. Deciding that he was bored and that she couldn't beat him Carter threw a feint and then kicked her, hard. He kicked her so hard her feet left the ground as she flew a foot into the air as he dashed over and slammed his fist into her gut forcing the air out of her lungs as she hit the ground coughing, seeing him being so brutal a few heroes in the crown booed him as Midnight came over to check on Katsumi.

"Can you continue?" she asked as she stood up again, "NO." Katsumi said still glaring at Carter as his smirk started to fade 'just stay down' he thought as she blasted up instead of at him as Midnight walked away, he knew what she was trying but decided to let her at least try. As Katsumi reached a dozen meters in the air she started to fall and then put her hands together and started to charge a massive explosion. Seeing that she was finally putting in some real effort Carter brought out him claws ready to shield himself just in case, he was right to bring out his claws as when Katsumi was two meters above him she let loose her explosion. BOOM! The platform shook as the shockwaves rattled those closest to them as dust kicked up obscuring what happened.

As the dust was annoying Carter flapped his wings a few times and the dust finally cleared and the crowd was astonished. Despite shaking the stadium and the crowd Katsumi was collapsed on the ground unconscious in front of Carter as he stood there unscathed, Carter looked different however, normally when he brings out his claws scales for along with them that cover his arm up to his elbow, but it seems that Katsumi's explosion was so potent that his body deemed it necessary to change and now his entire upper body was covered with scales as well as both arms, the reason the crowd could see this was because his entire top had been blown to bits with his pants looking battered as well.

"CARTER WINS!!" Mic yelled as the crowd went crazy, a giant explosion and a fight that shook the stadium? Now that was entertainment! As a medic came over to check on Katsumi, Carter stopped them as he bent down and took her in his arms "She fought well, and even forced my quirk to evolve from how strong she was, I will take her to the infirmary." he said as the medic nodded.

As he walked to the infirmary Katsumi snapped awake and seemed shook to look up and see Carter, that and the fact that he was covered in ebony black scales. "Why the fuck are you holding me?" she demanded while trying to get out of his arms "Because you lost, but you forced me to use more of my quirk because of that last blast, so I'm personally bringing you to the infirmary as a sign of respect for a fellow warrior." he said as she seemed angrier at the news of losing "Stop struggling already, you overused your quirk so just calm the fuck down already and accept the loss." he said getting annoyed as she tried to blast him but could barely manage a spark.

As they finally reached the infirmary they found Izuku and Ochako chatting happily as Recovery Girl came to check on Katsumi as he laid her in a bed next to Izuku. "What happened Katchan?" Izuku asked as Ochako turned to Carter "Why did you carry her in, and what happened to your skin?" she asked as Izuku looked at him as well. "She lost to me. Her last explosion forced me to use more of my quirk though so that why I'm covered with more scales than before." he said as Izuku pulled a beat up notebook out of god know where and started making notes while mumbling about something. "That still doesn't explain why you had to carry her down here." Ochako said as she narrowed her eyes at them "Why do you care pink cheeks?" Katsumi snarled as Carter laughed "She's the first person to give me a real fight other than my guardian and that Nomu creature so I brought her here out of respect." he said as Ochako nodded "Oh ok, I thought you two might be dating or something." she said as Carter laughed even harder while Katsumi tried to get up to attack the girl before Recovery Girl forced her back onto the bed with a glare that gave to room for complaints.

"Like hell I'd date him." Katsumi said up an octave as Carter struggled to breathe from laughing so hard Izuku looked at Katsumi funny as she had said that before but never in that tone. "Nah, we're not dating, she just gave me a decent fight." Carter said as he finally caught his breathe as Katsumi glared at him "Decent?" she asked "Decent, a good fight would have made me use my fire." he said to their surprise. "Wait you can use fire?" Izuku asked astonished as Carter shrugged "Idk, give me a good fight and see." he said smirking as Izuku started mumbling about flaming chemicals or something "Don't slobber all over him, he's got no clue." Carter said to Ochako and left the infirmary laughing as she stuttered trying to defend herself as Katsumi laughed once she figured it out, after yelling at Deku to 'Shut the fuck up nerd'.

League Bar--

As they watched Carter carry Katsumi away, Stain and Shigaraki both agreed, the boy was dangerous and a threat to them. "Will you join us?" Shigaraki asked again as his eyes never left Carter "NO,our ideals are too different and with a monster like him about to start running around any infighting between us would be a weakness for him to exploit." Stain refused as Carters performance had worried him, not only was Carter strong he was also smart, doing things and going for weak points and openings that Stain had noticed, and a few that even he didn't notice. "When the time comes to fight that kid, I'm not against helping you, whatever reason he has for being a hero, the world would be better without him." Stain said as he looked to Kurogiri hoping to leave. "That's acceptable, open the portal Kurogiri." Shigaraki said and watched as Stain left the bar.

"What do you think,Master?" Shigaraki asked as he and Kurogiri turned and faced an old TV that only showed static, after a moment a voice came through. "The boy is dangerous, but also an opportunity to draw other to our cause as he starts to become known." it said as Shigaraki nodded, even though he wanted to attack UA right now and kill Carter, he knew that he was sorely outgunned and wouldn't even get to the stadium before he was stopped. "So what do we do now?" he asked his master as he was tired of laying low after the exciting attack on the USJ a few weeks ago, "Bide your time and be patient Tomura, the Dr had almost finished a few Nomu for you to test, they will be weaker but can still be used well if your smart about it." the voice said as Shigaraki nodded and left to go upstairs, as he walked away the voice said to Kurogiri "Keep an eye on the boy, and on Stain, he may still be useful." it said as Kurogiri bowed "Yes master."

UA stadium--

As Mic hyped up the crowd Carter and Shoto went up the stairs to the platform, since Ida had had family troubles they were going straight to the final match between the two strongest in the class. As Carter took his place he saw that Shoto was back to using only his ice as the fire within him had dimmed quite a bit and the ice seemed ready to burst. As the match started Shoto created a massive iceberg above the arena and slammed it down trying to crush Carter wary of his strength, this didn't bother Carter however as he brought out his claws and swung his fist up, cracking the massive piece of ice in two. Seeing his first attack fail Shoto blasted ice as him while making distance knowing that he was outmatched in close quarters combat, seeing Shoto flee Carter smiled as he dashed forward, breaking apart ice with his fists of slashing through them with his claws.

In the stands Izuku,Ochako and Katsumi watched as they had just gotten out of the infirmary, seeing how swiftly he was closing the gap Izuku and Ochako wondered how strong he really was while Katsumi seethed that she wasn't the one fighting 'that icy-hot bastard'.

Seeing Carter throw Shoto around Stain and Shigaraki made their respective plans for how to deal with him as he was a threat to them just by existing.

As Shoto rolled to the side he quickly got up as Carter lifted his foot out from the crater he had made right where Shoto was a second ago. "Is that all you have? Where was that fire from earlier, don't tell me daddy issues are holding you back?" Carter said trying to goad Shoto on, he wanted to see how fire not his own felt on his scales and he would rather not be around someone like Endeavor, so naturally Shoto was the obvious choice. "I'll never use his side." Shoto declared with another blast of ice angry that Carter had brought his father into this. 

"Oh really, don't blame me for what happens next then~" Carter said while slashing through another block of ice, flapping his wings he goes up a few meters before he starts to call on the fire deep within himself. Sensing the danger Shoto starts blasting larger and larger pieces of ice and making a dome around himself but Carter keeps smashing the pieces that get too close. After ten full seconds Carter lets out a mighty roar as fire pours out from his mouth, any and all pieces of ice immediately turn to water vapor as the stage fills with fog, but the lack of vision doesn't stop Carter as he can feel Shoto using more and more ice to defend, but its useless as the barrier shatters and Carter snaps his mouth shut to not burn the teen.

As the stage clears somewhat the crowd is able to see Shoto and Carter, Shoto appears to be barely hanging on while Carter hovers in the air, his appearance even changed again as now not only is his entire upper body covered in ebony black scales, his head now appears to be that of a dragons, with horns jutting out from his skull as his wings and tail have also grown larger. Carter opens his mouth and starts to speak "Do you yield?" he asks, his voice is deep and ancient, Shoto can feel his very bones shake as he looks up at Carter, "What, scavenger got your tongue? Carter asks with a chuckle as Shoto's mind tried to figure out how to deal with his situation.

Seeing Shoto and everyone else's shock Carter lands and using his fire, melts a piece on concrete until it becomes reflective obsidian, seeing his reflection he sees why they are so surprised. Looking up he sees Shoto staring at him still "Well are you going to fight or do you give up?" he says feeling annoyed at how long this was taking. "No, I can keep fighting." Shoto says snapping out of it as he finally takes the fight serious and sends a wave of fire at Carter. He calmly steps through it and relishes the warmth it gives him "Like a nice hot bath." he sneers as he dashes to Shoto who throws up an ice wall, Carter slashes through it however and presses the advantage and with his bigger tail smacks Shoto's torso sending him flying out of bounds.

"CARTER WINS!! THAT FIRE WAS AWESOME WHERE DID HE GET THAT FROM!?!?!" Mic shouts as Aizawa and the rest of the UA staff wonder the same, where had his new abilities come from, and why had he never used them before during training? It mattered little however as Carter waved to the cheering crowd for a few seconds before flying over to the 1-A booth and canceling his scales, sits down as Izuku and the others start asking questions like crazy.

As Shigaraki and Kurogiri watch Carter win they dread the day that they will inevitably face Carter, since nothing they have currently can face him, but behind the screen, All For One smiles as Dr.Garaki goes over his ideas of uses of Carters quirk and potential ideas to bring him over to their side.

Back in Hosu city Stain glowers as he watched the festival on his phone, 'Just another fake hero' he thinks as he continues to track his target through the city while avoiding police and hero patrols looking for him.

As they set the stage for the award ceremony Carter was busy answering question from all his classmates, after a few minutes though Katsumi couldn't take anymore and stomped over to him "You're coming with me" she growled grabbing him by the shirt and dragged him away under the classes shocked gazes 'wtf just happened'.

Once outside Katsumi spung to glare at him "Why the hell did you go easy on me?" she demanded as Carter finally realized why she had been glaring at him for so long "Because you didn't push me to fight, against literally anyone else you would have pounded them into the ground, but I'm just better, even if you were to fight Shoto you'd probably win, but you stood no chance." he said as Katsumi just stared at him, he wasn't even gloating she realized as she went back over their fight mentally, he was just that much stronger than her. Taking a deep breathe to calm herself she glared at him again "Well I hope you like your cushy seat flyboy cuz I'm gonna take it from you!" she snarled before stomping back to the rest of the class as Midnight called for them.

As they took their places Carter kept a straight face as Katsumi continued to glared at him, soon Midnight gave the signal and they walked out onto the pedestals, Shoto in third, Katsumi in second, and Carter in first. "These are the top three student first years students!" Midnight said as the crowd cheered, "And this year with have a special guest to present the medals!" she said as a massive shadow leaped from the top of the stadium and landed right in from of them in a classic superman pose, "I AM HERE!!" All Might declared as the crowd went crazy, Carter had to turn his hearing down as he was getting a headache, even Katsumi and Shoto showed discomfort from the sheer volume of shouts that filled the stadium upon seeing the #1 hero.

Taking the first medal All Might walked over to Shoto and placed the medal around his neck and gave the teen a few words of encouragement and gave him a hug,nearly squeezing the life out of Shoto, grabbing the next medal he walked over to Katsumi and she snatched the medal from him with a scowl as he just laughed and gave her a few tips for facing stronger opponents, she almost blasted him to avoid the hug. Finally he took the gold medal and walked over to Carter, placing it around his neck All Might shook his hand, "Cathleen told me you hate physical contact, but still congratulations are in order, you did very well and I'm sure she is very proud to see how much you have grown. Don't slow down though, your classmates are going to train even harder after this." All Might said with a massive grin as even Carter smiled because of how much positive energy poured off of him, "I will,thank you." he said bowing his head as All Might nodded and turned to the crowd. "Give it up for the next generation of heroes!!" he yelled as the crowd went ballistic, "Say it with me now!" he called as the stadium stilled for a heartbeat and Carter thought 'maybe this hero thing isn't so bad'
