What the hell is making games in the Ninja World?

Chapter 54: Chapter 44 : Survival Road Begins!!

"It turns out that upgrading the Sharingan can also enhance my mental network abilities... This function that allows linking my mental network with others, is it the effect of the Transcription Seal?"

The Transcription Seal is a secret technique of the Uchiha clan. By making eye contact with the target using the Sharingan, it seals a 'technique' into the eyes of either the user or the target.

When the 'conditions' are met, the seal automatically releases, and the 'technique' activates to attack the target.

In theory, this secret technique requires at least the three-tomoe Sharingan to use, and Uchiha Kai is no exception.

However, the principle of the Transcription Seal is something every Uchiha can master, and it is a secret technique that can be learned as soon as one awakens their Sharingan.

Uchiha Kai's current combination of two-tomoe Sharingan and mental network has granted him a mutated version of the Transcription Seal.

Instead of sealing a 'technique,' the Transcription Seal now seals the 'port' of the mental network, allowing others to share the mental network, with the 'main server' being Uchiha Kai himself. He holds the highest authority over controlling the 'port.'

Of course, this function has just been developed, and the full extent of its capabilities still needs further research and exploration.

When the time reached 4 PM, the third game created by Uchiha Kai, Survival Road, finally revealed its mysterious veil.

The organizers cleared the central area, creating an open space, and ensured that players entering the game could project their gameplay for the audience to see.

Those who had been playing since the morning had returned to the audience seats as per the staff's arrangements, eagerly awaiting the display of the new game.

For most of the crowd, Survival Road was the game they were most excited about.

This was because the officials had clearly stated that Survival Road was a game that both ninjas and civilians could enjoy, a game that could be played with friends and family, with the main appeal being its fast pace, allowing ordinary people to join in the fun.

Then, in front of over five thousand people, four teams, who had been 'lucky' enough to be selected, took the stage. The staff arranged for the sixteen participants to form four-player teams, walking into the respective player zones.

Three of the four teams were relatively unknown to the audience, as they were simply groups of lucky individuals selected and grouped together. They eagerly responded to the cheers and chants of the audience.

However, for the fourth team, it was a different story. The level of welcome they received far surpassed the other teams.

Because, within this team, there is the popular figure—Minato Namikaze.

After the performance in the morning, Minato Namikaze had completely become famous in Konoha, no longer just a local celebrity, but the recognized representative of Konoha's younger generation!

This new idol, known by the title 'Yellow Flash,' waved at the audience with a sunny smile, fully displaying his remarkable charm.

The enthusiastic atmosphere, however, made the three younger members who joined Minato on stage extremely nervous.

Even someone like Kakashi Hatake, who had already graduated from the ninja academy and became a Chūnin at the age of six, was feeling the pressure.

After all, the three of them, who were only nine years old, had never experienced being watched by so many people. Nervousness was inevitable, and their heads were buzzing with anxiety.

Although, earlier that morning, they had expressed great excitement about the game Survival Road and wanted to experience it together, when their anticipation became reality, they couldn't help but feel overwhelmed.

Yes, they were quite 'lucky' to have been chosen as the lucky players for the new game Survival Road.

And, they were actually playing with their teacher, Minato Namikaze, which was like a scene straight out of a fantasy turning into reality.

Of course, the clever Kakashi Hatake had already realized that this 'luck' was actually intentional. After all, Minato was also a member of the event organizers.

The fact that he personally participated and was directly assigned to their team felt like it was a planned arrangement.

Or perhaps, it was their teacher Minato's deliberate arrangement.

Kakashi glanced at his teacher but ultimately kept his suspicions to himself.

This time, there was no need for Uchiha Kai to come up on stage to play the role of host; other staff members would be providing the explanations.

Moreover, with four teams playing together, there was no need for a host. The audience could simply watch.

In the end, Survival Road was still just an unfinished game, merely a demo version that had been put up for display.

Then, under the guidance of the staff, Survival Road was launched, and through four large, specially made sealing scrolls, all sixteen players were drawn into the game.

Yes, these large, specially crafted sealing scrolls could use genjutsu to pull multiple people into a genjutsu game, creating the miraculous effect of simultaneous entry.

This was released by Uchiha Kai based on the "spectating" feature, utilizing the properties of sealing scrolls.

As everyone knows, sealing scrolls come in many types, varying in size, function, and price.

Currently, the Uchiha clan is selling Genjutsu game sealing scrolls, which are the cheapest ones available, which is why their prices are so low.

However, Survival Road is different. The sealing scroll used for this new game is more advanced. Just the blank scroll itself can be sold for 41,000 ryo per scroll, making it quite an expensive luxury item.

Though expensive, the effect is remarkable. It can pull multiple targets into the same Genjutsu game, a feature that ordinary scrolls cannot replace.

Now, with the use of advanced sealing scrolls, Survival Road, a multiplayer online game, has been successfully activated.

The sixteen players who entered the game, all at once, watched a CG animation with more than five thousand spectators from the real world.

The CG animation's background tells the story of the Land of Demons, which has sealed terrifying demon for ages.

However, one day, the seal broke. The demon' power went out of control and began to spread, corrupting the living beings outside.

At this moment, the corrupted beings mutated, turning into all sorts of monsters. Ordinary humans were twisted by this power, becoming mindless, resentful, and hateful living corpses (Zombies).

In this scenario, the unique power of chakra in the ninja world was also corrupted by the demon, causing most of the ninja to lose their powers and revert to ordinary humans.

Only a few ninjas retained some of their abilities, but even they were few, and they could do nothing to prevent the inevitable apocalypse in the ninja world.

Now, the players' role is to control the four ninja team members who are struggling to survive in this apocalyptic ninja world, vowing to keep fighting to the end.

Once the background CG animation ended, four screens were projected in the venue, each showing the situation of one of the four teams.

The players were surprised to find they had transformed—unlike in Fruit Ninja, where they played as themselves, in this game, they were directly portraying the respective game characters.

This caused the players to be stunned at first by the unfamiliar faces around them. After realizing their own transformations, they were shocked once more. Then, they understood that, like Return Home, this game required them to play as others.

Of course, this "self-awareness" moment wasn't much of a surprise these days, since both in and outside the game, people were more concerned with the opening CG.

It was an entirely new form of presentation, directly constructing a post-apocalyptic ninja world, which was so advanced and novel for the entire ninja world that people were already discussing it.
