What if Boros survived(OPM)

Chapter 13: Aftermath

"Are you an idiot?" shouted Saitama as he delivered a punch to Boros's stomach.

The alien's eye widened as he was sent flying several hundred meters before crashing into the ground and rolling even further before finally coming to a halt.

Boros clutched his stomach with one arm and coughed up some blood.

Saitama began walking toward him. "You went ahead and fought a bunch of bad guys right under my apartment… and then you destroyed the whole city."

"Where are we supposed to live now? And what about all the money and discount coupons I had stored up?"

"I can't afford to build myself a new house!" Saitama exclaimed, horrified.

Genos looked at Boros, equally stunned. "You mean you actually flipped over a continent?"

"Did you even consider what kind of devastation your actions would cause?"

The alien stumbled back to his feet, having mostly regenerated the internal damage Saitama's punch had inflicted.

"I did, and that's why I specifically held back from pushing it too far away from Earth," Boros explained.

"I only lifted it a couple of thousand kilometers into space so that when I kicked it back down, the continent wouldn't have time to build up momentum."

"If it had, things would have been much worse."

"And how exactly is that supposed to make up for blowing up my house?" Saitama shouted.

"Yes, Master Saitama needs a place to stay," said Genos. "I implore you to find him one immediately."

"What do you want me to do?" Boros retorted. "I'm not a builder, and I certainly don't have any money."

"Surely your S-Class hero salary should be enough to buy a house somewhere."

"Being an S-Class hero pays well, but not that well," Genos explained. "I'd need to save up for a few months, which is way too long."

"You're the one who got us into this mess, so you should be the one to fix it."

"And how exactly do you expect me to do that?" asked Boros. "If you have any ideas, I'm all ears."

"Why don't you try becoming a hero or something?" Saitama suggested.

Boros looked at him, stunned. "I'm a giant, blue, one-eyed alien."

"Yeah, I'm sure the Hero Association, an organization dedicated to killing monsters, would be thrilled to have me."

"Wait," interrupted Genos. "That's actually a brilliant idea."

Boros rolled his eye. "I was being sarcastic."

"And I wasn't," said Genos. "I have an idea."

"We'll get you into the Hero Association. With your power, I'm sure you could become an S-Class. With both of our salaries, we could get a new apartment built in no time."

"Again, how do you plan on getting the heroes to not want to kill me on sight?" asked Boros.

"Or do you expect me to just walk up to them, beat them all up, and demand they accept me as a hero?"

He smirked. "Taking on all the heroes at once… Honestly, that could be fun."

"No!" Saitama exclaimed, slapping Boros hard enough to send him crashing into the ground.

"Follow me, you two," said Genos. "I need to introduce you to someone."

Boros and Saitama, having no idea what to expect, followed Genos to another city, one that hadn't been completely leveled yet.

The unlikely trio arrived at a large building that, as Boros noted, looked more like a fortified lab than anything else.

They stopped in front of a massive door, or at least, Boros assumed it was a door. In reality, it looked more like a vault. His guess was confirmed when Genos made a short call, and the enormous entrance slowly opened.

The cyborg walked through first, with Saitama and Boros following closely behind.

As they proceeded down a wide corridor, Boros looked around curiously. "So, mind telling us what this place is?"

"To put it simply, it's the laboratory of the genius scientist who designed my body," Genos explained.

"A place of technology…" Boros mused.

"In truth, I've been interested in learning more about Earth's advancements ever since I first saw you."

"I suppose this is as good a time as any."

"You've come to the right place, then," Genos replied. "This lab houses some of the most advanced technology on Earth."

They approached a door at the end of the hallway.

Genos opened it, leading them into a vast room filled with machinery and robotics.

"Welcome, everyone," greeted an old man. "Genos informed me he would be coming over, but he didn't mention any guests."

"Good day, Dr. Kuseno," Genos replied. "My apologies for not telling you in advance."

"This is my master, Saitama, and an acquaintance of ours, Boros."

"Boros, Master, this is Dr. Kuseno."

"Ah, yes," Kuseno said, stepping closer to Saitama. "Genos has told me plenty about both of you."

Shaking Saitama's hand, he asked, "You're Genos's mentor, correct?"

"I've been looking forward to meeting you."

Then, Kuseno turned to Boros.

"And you must be the alien Genos mentioned."

"I've been eager to speak with you as well. Ever since your sparring match with Genos, I've been fascinated by the possibility of learning more about extraterrestrial life."

He extended a hand toward Boros.

The alien hesitated for a moment before smirking. "The feeling is mutual."

"I'm quite interested in learning more about this planet's technology. Perhaps I'll even ask for a favor or two."

"I've had a few ideas floating around in my mind ever since I first met Genos."

"However," Boros added, "I'll have to decline the handshake."

"Without my power-restricting armor, it's difficult for me to control my strength."

"I wouldn't want to accidentally crush your arm."

Saitama leaned closer to Genos and whispered, "If only he had been that considerate before deciding to drop a mountain on City Z."

Genos nodded in agreement.
