Chapter 29: 29

  Chapter 29 Inspection, Gossip

The next day, it was the wizard Qiao Lin and his wife.

The couple was very nice and even brought Ronan some gifts, which were freshly baked apple pie and lamb pie.

He also enthusiastically expressed that he could often visit their place for meals in the future, and his willingness to please was evident in his words.

Ronan politely invited the two into the house for a cup of tea. After seeing the couple off, he tasted the apple pie and lamb pie they brought.

He couldn't help but sigh, compared with Mrs. Qiao Lin's cooking skills, what the hell was the food he usually ate!

On the third day, it was the turn of the young wizard Linus.

Ronan didn't see anyone, probably because he left without saying hello.

The fourth day was about the half-elf brother and sister.

Thinking of the beautiful half-elf girl he saw at Potter's funeral last time, Ronan calculated the time and waited outside the tree house early, hoping to see her to feast his eyes, and maybe even talk and get to know her.

As a result, after waiting for a long time, a strong half-elf with a cold expression appeared, asked him a few simple questions and then left, which made Ronan very disappointed.

  Day 5.

Finally it was Ronan's turn to be on patrol.

"Magic ring, one-handed sword, water bag, dry food."

Inside the cabin, Ronan counted the things he was going to take with him, then put on his grey robe.

I originally wanted to wear a set of light leather armor inside.

However, due to the practice of physical training, his body shape has changed a lot, and the leather armor left over from his previous life is no longer suitable. Wearing it is not conducive to movement, so he gave up.

As soon as he walked out of the cabin, Ronan saw Jacob, a fat blond boy who was assigned to patrol with him, waiting under the old oak tree in his home.

Ronan climbed down the tree along the vines, and Jacob, noticing the movement, quickly came towards him.

  "Good morning, Lord Ronan."

Jacob greeted Ronan with a hint of excitement and excitement in his expression.

  "Good morning."

Ronan smiled at him politely and asked casually, "Have you had breakfast?"

  "I haven't eaten it yet!"

Jacob was about to shake his head, then nodded quickly.

Ronan didn't bother to care whether he had eaten or not. He just asked politely and said directly, "Then let's get started."

  "oh oh."

Jacob followed closely behind him like a follower.

Ronan took his first patrol quite seriously.

He took out the patrol route map drawn by old Wells and looked at it, thinking about the next arrangements.

Starting from his home, he would first go to the nearest home of the Qiaolin couple, then to old Wells's home, and then

visit the homes of Venetia, the half-elf siblings, and all the members of Linus's group one by one, plus inspecting the activity area, checking the water source, and the material storage points

. With his pace, he should be able to complete the whole process in two hours.

But if we take Jacob with us,

Ronan glanced at the blond fat boy who was following closely and whose breathing had become heavier after just a short while.

"It will probably take more than three hours."

"Okay! I probably won't have to do anything today..."

Ronan shook his head and sighed inwardly.

In fact, the team does not stipulate how many times each group must patrol each time, nor does it have any fixed route requirements.

But patrolling is a matter of luck, and no one knows when and where a situation will suddenly occur, so Ronan thinks it is better to be conscientious.

Be responsible to everyone and to yourself.

His initial plan was to run the map at least three times a day, once in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

If all goes well, he should be able to squeeze out some time to do his own things.

Ronan thought as he walked, and unknowingly arrived at the first patrol point, the residence of the Qiao Lin couple.

The Qiao Lin couple's tree house was built between two entangled trees, and from the outside it looked much bigger than Ronan's.

The two of them had made a special visit last time, and out of courtesy, Ronan decided to go up and say hello to them.

Unexpectedly, the couple seemed to have expected his coming and were waiting at the door early. They welcomed them in with a very warm attitude and treated them well.

This was Ronan's first formal visit to another wizard's home. He felt a little embarrassed as he didn't bring any gifts. He sat down, drank a cup of tea, and then stood up to say goodbye.

Jacob, who claimed that he had already had breakfast, finished a whole plate of raspberry pie that Mrs. Qiaolin had just baked, and was still burping as he left the house.

  This left Ronan speechless.

Perhaps he felt that he had become a little familiar with Ronan, so after coming out of the Qiaolin couple's house, the fat boy Jacob began to talk to Ronan actively.

"Lord Ronan, I heard you are a rune master?"

  "yes."

Ronan nodded casually. This was no secret and he had never deliberately concealed it.

  "That's amazing!"

Jacob sighed, looking at Ronan with undisguised respect and admiration.

"In the tree house area, I have never seen a wizard as young as you who has become a fourth-level wizard, and a genius rune master."

  "hehe."

  Ronan smiled and didn't respond.

Jacob flattered him twice more, and then asked cautiously, "Lord Ronan, do you have a teacher or inheritance?"

Ronan glanced at Jacob, "Why do you ask?"

"Because that's what Lord Linus is like."

Jacob answered without thinking, "Linus's teacher was a senior wizard apprentice. After he died, he left everything to Linus."

Ronan was startled and subconsciously asked, "Where did you get this information?"

"Madam Barbara, a very beautiful witch, originally lived there..."

Jacob pointed in a direction and said, "Half a month ago, she kicked out several of her former lovers and became the mistress of Lord Linus."

After Jacob finished speaking, he seemed to realize that he had said something wrong and quickly covered his mouth.

  Ronan, however, looked stunned.

"No wonder that guy is so arrogant. Moreover, he has reached level five at such a young age. It turns out that he inherited the mantle of a high-level wandering wizard."

Ronan couldn't help but ask Jacob if he knew why the young wizard Linus moved to the tree house area.

At this moment, Jacob hesitated and refused to explain clearly.

However, Ronan guessed that Linus, a man who would even brag about his wealth to his bed partner, was probably targeted by some people with bad intentions because the news of him inheriting the inheritance of a high-level wizard apprentice had leaked out.

Or maybe they were forced by their enemies.

The secret about Linus that Jacob inadvertently revealed aroused Ronan's interest, and he began to take the initiative to chat with Jacob.

Unexpectedly, Jacob is actually a talented guy.

Although his strength and talent are average, his ability to find out gossip is first-rate.

He knows everything about wizards in a large area nearby.

Something like which wizard was having an affair with which witch in secret, something like which wizard's son was not his biological son, something like which two wizards had shocking sexual orientations, not only did they meet secretly all year round, but they also always brought a male goat with them.

Ronan was amazed. If it weren't for Jacob, he wouldn't have known that the wizard life in the tree house area was so exciting.

He even learned that old Wells had a daughter when he was young, but unfortunately she died young. He took good care of Vinicia who lived by the tree spring and treated her as his own daughter.

Time passed quickly under Jacob's endless gossip, but unfortunately, in the second half of the patrol, Jacob gradually closed his mouth due to exhaustion, and Ronan was still not satisfied.

Pushing aside the thick dead branches and leaves, Ronan carefully examined the things in the small tree hole in front of him.

Food, a few packets of hemostatic powder for treating external injuries, a bottle of the lowest level antidote, and a brand new, unused signal box.

"Old Wells really put a lot of thought into it."

Ronan covered himself up again and sighed softly in his heart.
