Chapter 2621 Small Success Of Pyxis

Chapter 2621  Small Success Of Pyxis

Lin Mu held his breath as he heard Lady Kang's words.

SHUA

In the next second, her immortal Qi ran out, and the skill dispersed.

Thud

She slumped into her chair, taking deep breaths. Reaching into her robes, she retrieved a few recovery pills, consumed them, and closed her eyes to meditate. Lin Mu stood by silently, respecting her need for recovery. He knew the effort required to maintain such a skill for so long and how close they had come to a result.

After ten minutes, Lady Kang opened her eyes and let out a long sigh.

"Haah… That was harder than I expected," she muttered.

"So, what's the verdict?" Lin Mu asked, his anticipation evident.

"Pyxis managed to narrow it down to a twenty-degree range. While we don't know the exact location, we at least know it exists," she stated, a small smile on her face.

"Great!" Lin Mu exclaimed, his excitement growing.

This discovery meant they were closer than ever. They now had a direction, even if the destination remained elusive.

"It's definitely very far from here. Judging by Pyxis's reaction, I wouldn't be surprised if it's located somewhere in the Farlands," Lady Kang revealed.

"Hmm… I suppose we can work on two fronts then. First, find someone who can decipher this map or obtain a method to do so. Second, continue searching for it manually," Lin Mu suggested, his mind already formulating plans.

"Agreed. Leave a copy of the map with me, and I'll see if I can find anyone with more information," she said.

"If we do find it, the Kang Clan can join in on the expedition," Lin Mu offered with a smile.

"Haha, that would be splendid," Lady Kang replied, her business acumen already envisioning the possibilities.

If the Bridge Plane had been worth decades of the Kang Clan's profits, the Mausoleum of Bazgazeal could potentially yield a hundred or even a thousand times more. The very thought made her eager to proceed.

"I'll let you rest now. I'll inform you when I'm ready to leave," Lin Mu said as he rose to take his leave.

"Mmhmm. Our work here is nearly done anyway. The Rust Sky world has stabilized, and I can delegate the remaining tasks to the ministers," Lady Kang replied, waving him off.

"I hope you're getting compensated for all this. It doesn't seem like light or easy work," Lin Mu remarked, glancing at the towering stacks of documents on her desk.

"Haha, of course. I'm charging the Kang Clan's 'special' rate for this," Lady Kang replied, her tone brimming with the confidence of a seasoned businesswoman.

She wasn't the type to let her efforts go unrewarded. Since the Dao Wind Empire had sought her help, they would pay handsomely for it. After all, no one could bypass the Kang Clan's fees without consequences. Fortunately, the empire had ample wealth to honor such agreements, and Emperor Feng Huizhong's pride would never allow him to haggle over the cost of assistance.

"I'll see you later, then," Lin Mu said, bowing slightly before departing.

The following days passed peacefully. Lin Mu focused on cultivating and preparing meals for the Saintess, who seemed to appreciate the small comforts he provided. Little Shrubby and the other beasts returned from their gathering expedition, bringing back an abundance of rare ingredients that Lin Mu stored for future use.

Meanwhile, the Treasury Minister delivered additional resources based on the list Lin Mu had submitted. However, it soon became clear that they had exhausted the Rust Sky world's supplies. If Lin Mu needed more, he would have to seek them on other worlds.

He also received word that the Flood Dragon Qiulong Jiao and the Blue Drake An Zu De De had departed the Rust Sky world. Unlike most travelers, they chose not to use the teleportation arrays. Instead, they set out to fly across the vast expanse of space, intending to follow the clues leading to Qiulong Jiao's daughter.

Their destination was the Two Seas World, a rogue planet that had once been part of the Rust Sky world's solar system. It had drifted away eons ago but remained relatively close by cosmic standards. Though the journey would have been perilous for most, the two draconic beasts had immense stores of Qi, allowing them to fly nonstop for years if necessary.

Lin Mu respected their decision and wished them well.

Before his departure, Lin Mu hosted a farewell banquet for his closest companions. The gathering was modest, attended by the Crown Prince Feng Shun, Crown Princess Shang, Daoist Chu, Monk Hushu, Ziran, and a select few experts from the Dao Wind Empire.

The group feasted late into the night, exchanging stories, laughter, and heartfelt words.

"To think it's finally time for you to leave," Crown Prince Feng Shun said, raising his cup.

"Don't worry. We'll meet again soon," Lin Mu replied with a confident smile.

"You better," Crown Princess Shang said, her tone half-joking but tinged with genuine sentiment.

"I'll make sure of it," Daoist Chu added, clapping Lin Mu on the back.

"Amitabha. It's merely a journey to my homeland, nothing we haven't done before," Monk Hushu said, his calm demeanor reassuring everyone.

"Hah! I wish I could join you," Ziran said wistfully.

"Didn't your wife reduce your grounding time?" Lin Mu asked with a teasing grin.

"Yeah, thanks to you. She said I should make more friends like you," Ziran admitted, scratching his head sheepishly. "But I'm still stuck for a few more years."

The group laughed, easing the bittersweet atmosphere.

When the banquet ended, Lin Mu took a moment to reflect. His time on the Rust Sky world had been transformative, filled with challenges, discoveries, and friendships that would last a lifetime. As he prepared to embark on his next journey, he felt a renewed sense of purpose.

The path ahead was uncertain, but Lin Mu welcomed it with open arms. For him, every step was an opportunity to grow stronger, uncover new truths, and forge connections that spanned the cosmos.
