Chapter 2620: Lady Kang's Aid
Lin Mu took the advice and intended to ask Lady Kang about it the next day. He messaged her just in case and learned that she was busy with work but would be done by tomorrow.
Thus, for now, he spent some more time with the Saintess and cultivated until the next day.
In the morning, Lin Mu went to seek out Lady Kang right away.
She was overseeing multiple businesses and had been given a personal palace for herself along with the Kang Clan experts.
The Kang Clan experts cupped their hands in greeting when they saw Lin Mu. His identity as their venerated guest had already become ingrained in them. At first, they only respected him because it was their lady's order.
But as they learned more about Lin Mu—such as his identity as a Spatial Master—their respect grew deeper. Any Spatial Master was worthy of admiration, and even the Kang Clan had to spend a lot of resources hiring them.
From what they had learned from their lady, Lin Mu was a notch above all others, making an alliance with him a privilege.
"The Lady is waiting for you in her office," a steward informed Lin Mu.
"I'll go in then," Lin Mu said as he opened the wide sliding doors and walked in.
The office was rather quaint and was filled with piles upon piles of documents in the form of business ledgers, letters, and scrolls.
"Damn, you're way busier than I thought," Lin Mu said, looking at the documents.
"Just what comes with running the Great Kang Clan's businesses," Lady Kang replied. "And since I'm operating from outside, we have to take some extra steps to ensure the security and verification of the documents."
"Makes sense," Lin Mu nodded.
"So, what did you ask to talk to me about?" Lady Kang asked. "Are you leaving?"
"In a few days, yeah. But what I wished to talk to you about was this," Lin Mu said, taking out the bone tube.
Lady Kang merely needed one look at the bone tube to recognize its value as an artifact.
"An artifact of the Demon tribes?" She couldn't read what was written on it and thus assumed it to be one.
"It's a treasure for sure. But what's inside is worth way more," Lin Mu said as he opened it and unraveled the beast skin map.

Lady Kang grew silent and closely observed the beast skin map, using her immortal sense to examine it in depth.
"Hmm… this is very old… I can't even estimate its age, and I've seen artifacts that are over twenty million years old," Lady Kang said with surprise. "Where did you get this from?" she asked.
Lin Mu then told her about his spar with Karlia and the rewards.
"Bazgazeal!" Lady Kang's eyes went wide. "To think there would still be maps to its mausoleum!"
"You know about it?" Lin Mu was pleasantly surprised.
"Of course! He was the strongest Demonic Expert once upon a time. Our Great Kang Auction Houses once sold a few relics that were sourced from his conflicts. All of them sold for sky-high prices," she revealed.
"Looks like I came to the right person, then," Lin Mu smiled. "I need your help in finding this mausoleum," he added.
"Hmm… that will be difficult," Lady Kang replied. "We'd first need to decipher it in order for Pyxis to work. It won't function if there's no base clue to start from."
"I do have that," Lin Mu said. "The Six Band Cluster. It's most likely linked to Bazgazeal," he added.
"The Six Band Cluster… Hmm, let's try it first," Lady Kang said as she activated her Divine Mystic Constellation art.
Four stars rose above her as they transformed into a mariner's compass.
"Guidance of Pyxis! Show me the path to the Six Band Cluster!" she commanded.
The mariner's compass spun in the air, its needle making endless revolutions. Minute after minute passed, but it did not stop spinning. Lady Kang's Qi kept draining as she maintained the skill, letting it work.
Pyxis didn't always yield immediate results. Depending on how far the target was, it could take a long time.
An hour went by, but the needle showed no signs of stopping.
"Is it not working?" Lin Mu asked, his expression losing a bit of hope.
"I can try for a while longer," Lady Kang said, faint beads of sweat forming on her forehead.
Another hour passed, and Lady Kang's Qi reserves had been depleted by half.
"You can stop if it's not working," Lin Mu said, not wanting her to tire herself out for no reason.
"I can still go on. It's not like we're in combat right now anyway, so I can always recover later," Lady Kang replied, unwilling to give up just yet.
They waited longer, and soon another two hours had passed.
Lady Kang's forehead and back were now covered in sweat, and her breathing had become unstable. Keeping the Divine Mystic Constellation art active for this long was clearly taking a toll on her.
If not for the fact that Pyxis consumed less immortal Qi compared to her other offensive skills, she would have been completely drained long ago.
She was down to her last reserves of immortal Qi when a change finally occurred.
Huang!
The mariner's compass stopped spinning, but the needle continued to revolve.
Second by second passed, and sweat dripped down Lady Kang's chin.
"Just a bit more…" she muttered under her breath.
And just when her immortal Qi was about to be fully depleted, the needle finally slowed down.
It twitched within a twenty-degree range, unable to settle on one fixed point.
"It did it!" Lady Kang exclaimed, her eyes lighting up.
The work had been difficult and at certain point she had been sure that she was about to fail. But she held on till the end, for the Mariners compass to finally do its work.
Pyxis had seldom failed her and it had not once more.
