Waiting For Your Reincarnation

Chapter 47

“What’s Idelia like? Do you know her?” “Idelia Argen. I know her.”

Ryu Won, who had opened the door to the library earlier and entered, organized the information about her in his mind.

She was nervous that the temple background would appear like the last time, but fortunately it didn’t.

The library was still old-fashioned, quiet, and comforting.

Unlike last time, Ryu Won made his way to the stairs that led to the librarian’s desk.

“She is the gatekeeper of the mirror that connects the worlds, and before I was put on probation, I often ran into her when I went to the world below.” “What’s wrong with her that she’s on probation for so long?” “Well… she definitely went crazy.”

Ryu Won looked at Yeon-young and avoided elaborating.

He didn’t stop at the second floor, but went straight up another flight of stairs.

The third floor was not an open space, but a room with a door that had to be opened to enter.

Ryu Won grabbed the iron handle and turned it once, his ring glowing and emitting a faint light.

Then, with a soft click, the door to the third floor opened.

Unlike the other floors, which had a noble atmosphere, the third floor had a certain loneliness to it.

A single rectangular mirror, large enough to reflect three adults, stood in the vast room.

“A mirror?” “This is the portal between worlds. I’ve drawn a small portion of Iris’ power here for the outgoing Center staff.” “That’s not as scary as I thought.”

Yeon-young, who had only thought of the Gate of Hell through which the Grim Reaper traveled, was intrigued by the other images.

“Idelia is a spirit who has been in charge of this gate for a very long time, keeping records of who has been where, and she knows it so well that I’m worried.”

Ryu Won’s expression was wistful as he looked into the mirror, as if the words “worried” were not false.

It was as if he was looking at something in the mirror and remembering it.

Memories of Ryu Won that Yeon-young doesn’t know.

Her heart churned as if someone had thrown a stone into a calm lake.

“Why did Idelia run away when she knew she would be punished?” “I don’t know, but I hope she doesn’t get into trouble.”

His casual tone belied his concern for her.

Ryu Won dug deep into the pockets of his uniform and pulled out the stone he had taken from the conference room earlier.

The stone was smaller than his palm, and a white glow surrounded its surface.

With a light touch, he threw the stone at the mirror.

Thinking for a moment that the glass would shatter, Yeon-young raised her arms and grabbed Ryu Won.

Ryu Won stopped and lowered his arms. A faint smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.

“Were you worried about me?” “No, I wasn’t. I only grabbed you because I was afraid you might get hurt.” “Keep worrying and you’ll end up getting hit in the eye again.” “The mirror is…”

The mirror that had reflected their reflection earlier had become opaque and emitted the same light as the stone.

“It is a sign of connection to the world below. The white stone will take you wherever you want to go. Shall we go inside?”

Ryu Won waited with his arms outstretched, as if he expected Yeon-Young to take his hand first this time.

If she didn’t take his hand, he had the stubborn energy to stand there for hours.

After some hesitation, Yeon-young finally took Ryu Won’s hand.

His hand was as warm and inviting as ever.

They walked through the mirror and stepped through.

* * *

Teleportation was a feeling of being sucked into another space in an instant, but the mirror was not.

They walked through the mirror as if they were walking through a door and immediately found themselves in another world.

“It’s that simple?” “It is because the process of entering the library is difficult. It’s not usually that easy, and there’s also the effect of Idelia’s disappearance.”

Yeon-young turned her head from side to side and quickly checked where she was.

Then she breathed in and out, her mouth slightly open as if in a daze.

“This is our neighborhood.” “Why does Ms. Yeon-young know this place?” “I know it so well, it’s near where I used to live. It really hasn’t changed at all…” “You remember it all?” “Yes. Just after the playground on the left here, turn right and you’ll see a supermarket that’s open until midnight, and a little further from there is my house…”

While Yeon-young was excitedly describing the surroundings, she stopped when she remembered her house.

It dawned on her that it was no longer clear whether this place could be called a neighborhood or a home.

Ryu Won noticed her gaze and took a step closer.

 “Do you want to leave?”

The sky had already darkened, and even though it was night, there were still quite a few people passing by.

They were obviously standing here, but people just walked past them.

Their bodies occasionally bumped into each other, but it didn’t cause them any pain.

Only then did Yeon-young realize that they were dead.

“No, just go. I keep forgetting that I’m dead.” “You’re lucky, because you can live for countless years and still forget that you’re dead.”

Yeon-young clenched and unclenched her palms and stepped forward.

Ryu Won took off his uniform coat and draped it over her shoulders. The embrace of the coat was so large that she tried to drag it across the floor.

 “It’s cold, cover up.”

Gratefully, Yeon-young opened the collar of his coat.

From the moment she realized her mortality again, she knew one thing.

From the moment she came down here, she couldn’t feel cold or heat.

Still, Ryu Won hadn’t taken his coat back, citing the cold she couldn’t feel.

Even without looking in the mirror, Ryu Won could tell that his face and ears were hot and he hadn’t cooled down yet.

He closed his eyes and enjoyed the breeze.

“Even with the wind, I can’t find any trace of Idelia.” “What should we do?” “We have to use our head.”

Ryu Won pulled out the stone he kept in his pocket.

A strand of silver hair was tied to the stone, and it glowed with a light green color.

He casually threw the stone to the ground, and it rolled away.

“What is this?” “It’s a guiding stone. I tied Idelia’s hair into it, so it will guide us to where we want to go.”

The stone rolled without stopping, even though he didn’t throw it with much force.

The stone rolled slowly at first, but as time passed, it picked up speed and moved quickly forward.

When it started to gain speed, an opaque yellow space opened up behind where the stone had passed, as if another space had been created.

 “Ms. Yeon-young, let’s go.”

Ryu Won ran along the path that the stone had created.

Yeon-young, who ran after him without knowing, looked back and was surprised.

After a while, the space created by the stones slowly disappeared at the other end.

“How long do we have to walk?” “It shouldn’t take long, it’s definitely close.”

He wasn’t lying, and the yellow space slowly disappeared, and the stone rolled down the asphalt again.

After rolling for a while, it stopped in front of a six-story building, as if it knew this was the right place.

Only the fourth to sixth floors of the building were lit.

“Are you sure this is Idelia’s place? It’s a movie theater.” “I think so.”

Yeon-young craned her neck to look at the movie theater sign.

Maybe it was late enough that only the floor of the theater that showed late-night movies was lit.

She remembered coming here a few times before to watch late-night movies.

“Is this place familiar?” “Yes. I used to love late-night movies.” “Really? I don’t find them very interesting.” “Have you ever… seen a movie?” “No, I prefer to watch Ms. Yeon-young.” “Let’s go inside.”

He couldn’t answer the question if they had met before, but he was good at being clever.

Yeon-young walked towards the movie theater, thinking he was being condescending today.

The stone rolled back by itself without her touching it.

As expected, it went to the movie theater.

They walked through the locked door and casually entered.

“It’s so convenient to just walk through the door.” “It’s the privilege of a soul.”

The stone bounced up the escalator like a bunny hopping. It was cute and Yeon-young smiled.

She got on the escalator and looked around the building. The walls were covered with posters of the current movie at regular intervals.

When she saw a series of romance fantasy movies, she was delighted.

 “Oh, it’s out now,”

she said.

“It’s a movie about magic.” “Uh, right. Has Ryu Won seen it? Did you like it?” “I don’t know.”

After asking Ryu Won a bunch of questions, Yeon-Young suddenly felt strange and stopped walking.

She stared at Ryu Won.

“But this show hasn’t been around that long, how do you know?”Visit my Ko-fi for discounted advanced chapters!!
