Chapter 2: So This Comes After Died
So, I really did die in that accident, huh? I thought, bringing my hand to my chin in a pensive motion. Alright, System, what exactly can you do? And why vampires?
[The System has the ability to display your stats, provide you with missions, and offer a shop for upgrades and items. As for why vampires... this was the only system available to you at the time of your reincarnation.]
Fair enough, I thought. Alright then, show me my stats.
Name: Ren Dover
Age: 16
Vampire Ranking: F Tier
Abilities:
[Semi-Blood Control]
[Semi-Superhuman Body]
[Semi-Regeneration]
[Blood Drain]
Items: None
Subordinates: None
Weaknesses:
Sunlight
Garlic
Silver
F Tier? Seriously? I stared at the stats floating in my mind, of frustration And these weaknesses... Sunlight? Garlic? Silver bullets? I might as well be a walking cliché.
But then again, every vampire had to start somewhere. If this was my new reality, I'd just have to climb my way up from the bottom.
"System, can these weaknesses be removed if I advance enough? And why am I stuck at F Tier?" I asked, my voice tinged with frustration.
[Yes, Host. As you advance, you will gain more power, and your weaknesses will diminish. The reason you are currently F Tier is due to the time you've spent in the sun and your consumption of garlic, which has damaged your body.]
"But that was before I got the system!" I protested.
[Correct. However, the damage has already been done. Your body is weakened as a result.]
I let out a heavy sigh. There was nothing I could do about the past now. All I could do was move forward. But to move forward, I needed to understand my powers first.
[Semi-Blood Control]
[This ability grants you basic control over blood. You can create simple weapons from blood and manipulate the blood within your own body.]
"So, I have minor blood control," I muttered. "Well, at least I'll never have to worry about dying from blood loss. But it's not exactly an overpowered ability." I paused, a thought crossing my mind. "I wonder... can I control the blood of other people?"
If I can control blood, I could theoretically cut off the blood supply to someone's brain, making them brain dead. I'll have to experiment with that later, I thought, though the idea felt a bit too dark to dwell on for long.
Alright, enough thinking about turning people into vegetables. Let's move on to the next ability.
[Semi-Superhuman Body]
[This ability enhances your senses and physical capabilities, making them sharper and more refined.]
Huh, that's a pretty vague explanation. I'll have to test my strength. Some vampires can throw cars around like toys. Where can I test this? I glanced around the hospital room, but there was nothing heavy enough to try. What did I expect? It's a hospital, not a gym. I'll have to wait until I'm out of here to test my limits.
[Semi-Regeneration]
[As long as your mind remains conscious, you can regenerate from almost any injury, given enough time.]
So, it's a lower-tier regeneration ability. I'll have to be careful not to get knocked out in the middle of a fight, or I'm done for.
[Blood Drain]
[This ability allows you to drain the blood of others. Additionally, if you choose, you can turn them into your subordinates.]
Blood Drain, huh? So, I can suck blood and potentially create minions. That's... useful, I guess. But I'll have to be careful with it. Turning people into subordinates sounds like a slippery slope.
Onto the weaknesses...
I'd have to navigate the world with these, whether I liked it or not. And trust me, I wasn't happy about it.
[Sunlight]
[You're a vampire now. Why are you even trying to go into the sun? The longer you're exposed to sunlight, the weaker you become.
So, I wouldn't die in the sun... but I'd grow weaker. Great.
[Garlic]
[Eating garlic is bad for vampires. Stay away from it.]
No eating garlic. Got it.
[Silver]
[Touching silver burns your body and takes a long time to regenerate. Avoid silver at all costs].
So silver wasn't just bad—it was a straight-up hazard. Good to know.
Alright, now I know my strengths and weaknesses. My top priority should be climbing the ranks—moving up the tiers. To do that, I'll need to take on missions.
"System, show me available missions," I said, my voice firm.
wait I forgot to check the shop .
