Vampire in marvel

Chapter 1: First day

As I was crossing the street, a blinding light suddenly engulfed my vision. Before I could even react, everything went black.

"Ahh!" I gasped, my eyes snapping open to the familiar ceiling of my room. My heart was still racing. Why do I keep having the same dream over and over again? I thought, rubbing my temples. The clock on the wall snapped me back to reality—I was going to be late for school if I didn't hurry.

I pushed myself up from the hard, uncomfortable bed and glanced to my side. Remi was still asleep, her soft breathing filling the room. With a sigh, I gently nudged her shoulder.

"Five more minutes," she mumbled, turning away and burying her face in the pillow.

My patience wore thin. "Wake up, or I'll throw water on your face," I said, my voice tinged with irritation.

She cracked one eye open, glaring at me with a mix of annoyance and drowsiness. After a moment of silent defiance, she finally sat up, her hair a messy halo around her face.

"It's your fault we're going to be late for school!" Remi shouted as we sprinted as fast as we could toward the subway station, weaving through the crowded streets.

"My fault? It's your fault we're late! You're the one who said we couldn't quit the game until we won!" I shot back, dodging pedestrians left and right.

"And whose fault is it that we kept losing, huh?" she retorted, slipping through the closing doors of the metro just in time.

I barely managed to squeeze in after her, scanning the packed train for any open seats. "Ha! Yours, obviously. You keep picking DPS instead of a tank!"

"WHAT? My fault? It's yours! Your healer can't even heal properly!" she fired back, her voice rising above the noise of the train.

"Oh, really? How am I supposed to heal you when you keep suicide-charging into the enemy formation, huh?" I said, smirking as I crossed my arms.

"Shut up, healer loser. And now we don't even have seats," she grumbled, glaring at me as we clung to the overhead straps, the train rattling forward.

I opened my phone to catch up on today's news, something I hadn't been able to do for obvious reasons. The world I was living in was spiraling further away from normal with each passing day. It was like something out of a comic book—actual people with superpowers were popping up everywhere, calling themselves "mutants." There was even someone calling themselves Magneto who believed all humans should be wiped out. And then there was the guy swinging between buildings, calling himself Spider-Man, running around helping people and fighting monsters like Electro.

Thinking about that guy gave me a headache. It was his fault we didn't have electricity for two weeks. But there was no point getting angry about it—what happened, happened.

I skimmed through the news. Nothing major today—just a bank robbery that Spider-Man had stopped. Typical.

"Are you just going to keep staring at your phone, or are you coming?" Remi's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. She was already stepping off the metro, glancing back at me with a raised eyebrow.

"I shoved my phone into my pocket and hurried after her. "Oh, shut up. You're just sad your phone doesn't even work right," I shot back, smirking.

"No, I'll just get a new one after Mom gets back from her business trip," Remi said as we resumed our sprint toward school.

By the time we reached the classroom, we were both out of breath. The teacher, Mr. Dover, stood at the front of the room, arms crossed, as we stumbled in.

"Mr. Ren Dover and Miss Remi Dover, late yet again," he said, his tone dripping with disapproval.

"Sir, we're only two minutes late. It's not that bad," I tried to argue, but he just gave me a pointed look and motioned for us to sit down.

The lesson was about to continue when the door suddenly swung open. Standing there was another latecomer—a boy with messy brown hair and a lanky frame.

"Mr. Parker," the teacher said, his voice heavy with sarcasm. "I'm impressed. How is it possible for someone to be late every single time? And what excuse do you have today?"

"Never mind. Just go to your seat," the teacher said, his voice tinged with annoyance.

After Peter shuffled to his desk, the teacher continued with the lesson. But something felt off. My body grew weaker by the second, and a strange fatigue washed over me. My vision blurred, and everything around me became harder to see. Before I could even process what was happening, my legs gave out, and I collapsed to the ground.

The last thing I heard was my sister's voice, screaming my name.

"So, what's your favorite hero, James?"

"Uh, I'd say Spider-Man and Iron Man.

"Basic, but good choices. Alright, I'm heading this way. See you tomorrow, bye!"

"Bye."

I opened my eyes to the sterile white ceiling of a hospital room. My head felt heavy as I turned to look around, but no one was there. The memories came flooding back—the dreams I'd been having weren't just dreams. They were fragments of the time I died and returned... in the world of Marvel.
