Chapter 541: Encounter with the Lord Again

Ma Lu had barely set foot in the village when he was warmly welcomed by the villagers.

Several doors of the surrounding houses suddenly burst open, and in one breath, eight zombies charged out.

Ma Lu didn't hesitate; he immediately popped another "Dignity Candy·Basic".

Then, with a deep breath, he took a half-step back, raised his right hand holding the Chef's Knife to his shoulder, pushed off the ground with his legs, twisted his waist, and swung his arm in one fluid motion.

Only when all the strength of his body had converged onto his wrist did he throw the Chef's Knife in his hand.

The Chef's Knife immediately turned into a large bullet and flew into the zombie horde.

"Whoosh!" It whizzed past the heads of two zombies, slicing off one of their ears, before finally striking a wooden door behind them.

The force behind the throw was tremendous, with half of the Chef's Knife's blade buried in the wooden door. Your next read is at My Virtual Library Empire

One might say that, apart from not killing a zombie, it was a textbook example of a thunderous strike.

Ma Lu admitted he needed more practice with his throwing skills, but that was alright, he had already reached out to recall the Chef's Knife.

Then he charged into the zombie group again, unleashing his close-combat techniques.

Wherever he went, zombie heads rolled to the ground, one after another. In less than a minute, all eight zombies lay on the ground, finding release.

However, this time they were quite stingy, not even a single Song Stone dropped, and their bodies didn't turn to ashes either.

"Something's not quite right," said Instructor Zhong, who had previously cleansed the catastrophe belt with Jin Hua a few times and was one of the few with actual combat experience in this group.

He became alert upon seeing this and promptly voiced a warning.

However, before he could say more, Ma Lu was already striding forward.

The main reason was that the "Dignity Candy·Basic" had only half an hour of effectiveness.

In times like these, holding back was less effective than bold action, and anyway, they would naturally find out what was going on when they encountered the Lord.

Seeing Ma Lu step forward, the Hou De Virtue Teachers and Students who had been conditioned to react promptly followed suit.

Before entering the catastrophe belt, Ma Lu had promised them that as long as they stayed within ten meters of him, he would ensure their personal safety.

Despite initial disbelief from many, after a few rounds of combat, nobody doubted Ma Lu's promise anymore.

In this manner, Ma Lu led his entourage deep into the village.

And the number of human zombies clearly started to densify, often charging out in groups of ten or even dozens at a time.

Individually, their strength was quite ordinary, even inferior to the Zombie Wolf pack they had encountered when they first entered the catastrophe belt.

Their moves were repetitive—either lunging or biting, and a half-beat slower than an average person's.

With Ma Lu at the forefront, even if any zombies slipped past, they couldn't harm the students and teachers of Hou De.

These human zombies, like those they had encountered before, didn't turn to ashes after being killed nor did they drop Song Stones.

Ma Lu spent about a quarter of an hour cleaning up most of the zombies in the village.

And finally, he came face to face with the Lord of this catastrophe belt.

It was a male zombie whose size was clearly much larger than the others; he stood at a towering height of two meters forty-five, his body covered in well-defined muscles.

It was so exaggerated, it was like something that had walked right out of a comic book.

Even a single arm was thicker than the waist of an average person.

Upon seeing the Lord Zombie, even Qiutong, who had the most trust in Ma Lu, couldn't help but have a moment of bewilderment.

Were they really going to fight such a terrifying creature? The monster opposite them seemed stronger than the bear they had encountered before.

The other students shared similar thoughts, having had a smooth ride in all their battles so far and having just begun to cultivate their confidence, which now couldn't help but waver.

Some had already started trembling, while others, without waiting for Ma Lu's command, took it upon themselves to release talismanic magic.

The only one whose expression remained unchanged was Ma Lu himself. The monsters he had encountered in the first Plane were far stronger than the Lord in front of them.

Compared to the Six-armed Ancient Ape, this Giant Zombie was only as big as the former's fist.

But Ma Lu was no longer the same as before; his enhancements were now mainly in physical strength and spiritual power. Although his strength had increased with his physical strength, the degree of increase was nowhere near as exaggerated as that of his physical strength.

He once again attempted the Pitcher attack that had previously missed, treating the Chef's Knife like a baseball and throwing it with all his might!

This time, thanks to the large size of the target, Ma Lu finally didn't miss, and the Chef's Knife successfully stabbed into the chest of the Giant Zombie.

Unfortunately, once zombified, all other physiological weak points, except for the head, disappear.

Ma Lu's blade must have reached the Giant Zombie's organs, but it did little more than enrage it, causing almost no damage.

Ma Lu didn't rush to retrieve the Chef's Knife, deciding first to test the strength of the Giant Zombie.

Thus, he chose to meet it head-on. The movement patterns of the Giant Zombie were clearly more diverse than those of regular Zombies, and it moved faster, too.

Seeing Ma Lu approach, the zombie placed its left arm across its chest and launched a Savage Charge.

Ma Lu also crossed his arms, guarding his chest, and accelerated his footwork.

The two collided fiercely! The next second, Ma Lu heard a creaking sound coming from his bones.

He felt like he had been hit head-on by a speeding train, as his body flew backward and slammed into the crowd behind him.

Seeing the previously invincible Principal thrown away, his life or death unknown, the teachers and students of Hou De Virtue became chaotic once again.

Fortunately, this time no one ran away; fumblingly they pulled out talismans and cast talismanic magic.

However, when it rains, it pours, and they soon found that their spiritual power was also running critically low.

Had they been too excited during the previous battles and inadvertently used up all their spiritual power?

They had no time to think, as the Giant Zombie was already upon them.

Someone threw a Gale Talisman; the world around them instantly filled with flying sand and stones, but the wind couldn't stop the Giant Zombie's advance.

Just as it was about to pounce on a female student, in the nick of time, Ma Lu rose again from the ground.

He shouted, "Don't panic, fall back behind me!" and with that, he met the Giant Zombie head-on once more.

After the previous test, he had realized that while the Lord possessed overwhelming strength, it had not exceeded the limit his body could withstand.

So, relying on his superhuman physical strength and a bit of footwork, Ma Lu was still able to contend with the Giant Zombie.

And with the return of their pillar of strength, the previously restless crowd calmed down once more, recalling Ma Lu's previous instructions, and began using Gold Element Charm on the Giant Zombie's neck.

Although it was laborious, five minutes later, they successfully beheaded the Giant Zombie.
