Chapter 341: Snow Mountain Pumpkin Bavaroise

After settling Ma Youyou, Ma Lu went home, picked a movie, and sat on the sofa, finishing off the can of mixed congee.

He had planned to go to bed afterward, but after some thought, he decided to send Angie a message.

—How's your leg doing?

At that moment, Angie was soaking in a bathtub at a hotel. Hearing her phone vibrate, she put down her drink, picked up the phone, and saw that it was Ma Lu's ID, a satisfied smile spreading across her face.

However, she didn't reply immediately. Instead, she set the phone aside and waited about a minute and a half before typing.

—Just the same, still recovering. You saw it today, too. Why, do you have a way to get me out of these protective boots sooner?

Angie was just saying it offhandedly, but to her surprise, Ma Lu replied.

—Hold on a minute.

Then Ma Lu really opened the recipe library on his wristband. He had already collected quite a few ingredients, especially energized plants, many of which came with additional effects.

Ma Lu browsed through the recipes and actually found one that could promote bone healing.

The recipe was called Snowy Mountain Pumpkin Bavaroise.

Bavaroise is a simple French dessert primarily made of milk and gelatin sheets.

Different chefs might add other ingredients to adjust the flavor, like this Snowy Mountain Pumpkin Bavaroise, which also included Demon Grinder Pumpkin, Mint Hypnotist, and Honey Lizard Eggs.

Angie was stunned for a moment, then typed again.

—Really? You know about medicine too?

—No, I'm just a chef.

Then something else occurred to Angie, and she suddenly got excited, jumping up from the bath without any pretense of modesty, and immediately replied.

—A dish?! Like the salty pork and eggplant clay pot dish I had last time? You have other effective dishes? I knew you were not just anyone!

—Could it be that you are a monster coming to repay a debt of gratitude?!

Ma Lu was amused by her and casually replied.

—Exactly, I'm a Radish Spirit. Thanks to you not eating me when you were a child, I was able to transform into a human.

—Radish Spirit?

Angie spent quite a while silent after typing those three characters, probably recalling when she had saved a radish.

Ma Lu then decided to go along with Angie's words and continued texting.

—Just don't tell anyone else about my identity, or the Monster Suppression Division will quickly come after me and lock me in the Monster Locking Tower.

—Ah, that's so dangerous. Is there any way to deal with the Monster Suppression Division? I can pay.

Ma Lu was slightly amused yet touched by her reply.

—Let's not, the Monster Suppression Division aren't bad people. They're the ones silently protecting the human world, keeping you humans safe from monsters. Anyway, as long as you and I know about this, and don't leak it, I can protect myself.

—Okay then.

Angie then curiously asked Ma Lu many questions, including but not limited to how he practiced cultivation, what the Monster Realm looked like, and whether his true form was a carrot or a white radish.

Ma Lu made up several answers on the fly, and when he couldn't take it anymore, he found a novel online with a similar setting, took the setup, and sent it to Angie, which finally calmed her down.

Ma Lu also took the opportunity to end the chat, claiming he needed to cultivate.

The next morning, Angie's black Rolls-Royce was parked outside the residential complex.

The young girl was still wrapped up like a mummy, sneakily poking her head out of the car, looking around to see if anyone noticed… that would be impossible.

In fact, quite a few passersby had already been attracted by her phantom image, gathering around to check out the luxury car, but it was not a big problem as long as no one discovered her identity.

With the help of her assistant, Angie made her way to the unit where Ma Lu lived and rang the doorbell.

It wasn't long before the door was remotely opened, and Ma Lu's voice could be heard from the intercom, "Come on up."

Due to Angie's special identity, it was inconvenient for her to dine in public, especially since she had already appeared at the Universe Infinite Canteen.

So, Ma Lu thought about it and simply invited her to come directly to his rental place the next day to have the Snow Mountain Pumpkin Bavaroise.

Angie did not refuse and didn't even let her assistant accompany her in the elevator; she only asked the latter to wait downstairs, and made her way limping to the 7th floor by herself.

Ma Lu had already opened the door and was waiting for her.

As soon as Angie entered the room, she curiously looked around, "It's much neater and cleaner than I imagined."

This was more or less what every girl who visited Ma Lu's place would say.

Ever since Old Wang had moved in, he had taken over all the household chores, cleaning every day.

The floor shone from his mopping, and the tables and balcony were also tidy and clean. Even the Spider Plant Ma Lu had brought home had revived under his careful care and no longer had any withered leaves.

"Not bad," Ma Lu casually said as he helped Angie to the sofa, then went to the kitchen to bring out the plate of Snow Mountain Pumpkin Bavaroise that Old Wang had just made. Stay connected via My Virtual Library Empire

Angie had already seen the plating at Universe Infinite Canteen once, but seeing it again was still refreshing.

The Bavaroise resembled a small mountain, standing in the center of a porcelain plate, the slopes covered with crisp white snow, and at the foot of the mountain flowed a yellow river.

In that river, there were also amber-colored little pearls.

Angie first took a picture with her phone before commenting, "It's so beautiful, why haven't I seen you sell this before?"

"I only recently collected the ingredients for this dish, and strictly speaking, it's more suitable for summer."

"Then I'll start eating," Angie said and eagerly scooped a spoonful, putting it into her mouth.

She immediately understood what Ma Lu meant by being suitable for sale in the summer.

It turned out the Bavaroise's name Snow Mountain wasn't just about its appearance. The moment it entered her mouth, Angie couldn't help shivering, feeling a wave of coldness.

"This is... mint? Using mint to simulate the chill of a snow mountain, what a brilliant idea."

Angie exclaimed, and the Bavaroise's uniquely light texture also felt like snow melting in her mouth.

After eating two spoonfuls, Angie dug another spoonful from beneath to get some of the "river water" and exclaimed softly again, "Ah, the pumpkin is here, then these amber pearls are... condensed honey?"

"Hmm, paired with the pumpkin and honey sauce, the Bavaroise Special also takes on another flavor… and this special honey melting in your mouth provides a change in texture, that's amazing."

As Angie praised, she ate. In no time, she finished the plate of Bavaroise but still seemed somewhat reluctant to stop, licking her lips.

"What about the next dish?"

"What next dish, this one is enough to treat your leg."

"But I haven't had enough, I still have to go to work later. I need to be full, don't worry, I will definitely not short-change you."

"We'll talk about money later, you first check your leg," Ma Lu said.
