Uchiha Gate: From Konoha to One Piece

Chapter 103: Danzo's Conspiracy and Kaito's Counterplan

— — — — —

Right now, the Uchiha clan just so happens to possess incredibly effective healing medicines and advanced medical techniques.

Their secret weapon? A top-notch doctor named Dr. Kureha, who they somehow managed to recruit. Her medical skills are absolutely exceptional.

Danzo and the Third Hokage even suspect she's the mastermind behind all those remarkable Uchiha medicines.

They had thought about contacting her, even trying to recruit her.

At first, they actually had a chance.

Before the Uchiha brought her to Konoha, she ran a small clinic on Short Path Street.

But by the time Danzo and the others found out, she'd already been recruited by the Uchiha and taken into their clan's territory—never to leave again.

But that's enough backstory.

The point is, those people who vanished may or may not still be alive.

And after they disappeared, their whereabouts became a complete mystery. Some even suspected an internal cleansing operation had covered it all up.

"Now that everyone's in place, the show can officially begin! I need someone to go see Hanzo again," Danzo thought, issuing orders.

Meanwhile, Kaito and his group quickly received the news of Danzo's latest plans.

Danzo had assigned them to the front lines, placing them in a patrol unit.

Kaito wasn't surprised at all.

"Patrol duty, huh? Pfft! That's the perfect setup for laying traps!" he thought with a cold smirk.

"Let's see what tricks you've got up your sleeve, Danzo."

Just as Kaito was mulling things over, Tsunade approached them quickly.

"Kaito! Mikoto! Kushina! Minato! You're all here on the front lines? What kind of mission did Danzo assign you?" she asked, visibly worried.

"Patrol duty," Kaito answered bluntly.

"I see. Got it," Tsunade replied, her eyes narrowing slightly.

She glanced around, sensing the area wasn't secure. Without saying another word, she led the four of them into her tent.

After setting up a soundproof barrier, she finally spoke.

"It looks like Danzo is planning to set a trap for you during your patrol to take you out," she said gravely.

"I overheard him mumbling to himself in his tent a few days ago using my sensory abilities. He said that Hiruzen had sent him a letter, asking him to deal with you."

Tsunade's expression grew complicated.

"To think he's stooped this low… All for power. He's completely ruthless."

"Well," she added, "since he's made his move, we shouldn't hesitate either."

Kaito smirked. "So, he's finally getting desperate, huh? Last time we refused to give him the medicine formula, it must've hit a nerve."

"Looks like he just couldn't hold it in any longer!"

"But you know what? This works in our favor."

"Sensei, have you discussed anything with the other clan leaders recently? How's the setup going?"

He couldn't let the Third Hokage and Danzo keep running wild. It was time to deal with them once and for all.

"There was a plan in place," Tsunade admitted, "but your arrival changes things—both for us and for Danzo."

"I bet he's planning to not only trap you four but also target the elite forces of the Uchiha, Uzumaki, and Senju clans stationed here."

"He'll try to wipe us out in one swoop. After all, if you die, the Uchiha, Uzumaki, Senju—and even I—will undoubtedly revolt."

"And when that happens, Danzo won't be able to keep things under control."

Kaito nodded, understanding the logic.

"Good point. If that's the case, we can turn his plan against him. Use it to take out him, the Third Hokage, and their loyalists in one go!"

"Danzo would have to deploy his best people—root operatives and the elite forces from their allied clans. Regular shinobi or even Anbu wouldn't cut it for a mission like this.

"Most of them aren't completely loyal to Danzo or the Third Hokage. They wouldn't risk everything for their schemes."

Tsunade nodded. "Exactly. But don't forget—Danzo's also working with Hanzo of the Salamander. We need to be prepared for Hanzo to jump in at any moment."

"What?!" Kaito exclaimed. "That guy's really got no bottom line, huh? And Hanzo agreed to this?"

Tsunade shrugged.

"Of course. On the Rain Country front lines, our three clans' allied forces are the strongest. We've been dealing heavy losses to the Rain ninja lately.

"Hanzo's been holding a grudge against us for a while now. So when Danzo proposed teaming up to set an inescapable trap, Hanzo had no reason to say no."

"This intel came straight from our sensory ninjas' reports. They're pretty reliable."

Kaito scoffed.

"Hanzo might not fully trust Danzo. He'll probably worry it's all a setup to get rid of him too.

"But what if it's real?"

After all, in recent years, the conflicts between the Uchiha, the three clans, the Third Hokage, and Danzo had become so intense that even Hanzo, the semi-god of the Rain Village, had heard about it.

Hanzo could clearly see that on the frontlines, Danzo often targeted the three clans' shinobi on purpose.

He'd assign them to the most dangerous positions, where casualties were the highest.

Rain Country's intel system wasn't just for show, after all.

Sure, even if all this was just an elaborate ploy by Danzo, Hanzo didn't care. He was prepared.

As the semi-god Hanzo, he wasn't afraid of Danzo's schemes. In fact, he was confident he could turn the tables with his own counter-trap.

Even if he couldn't annihilate most of Konoha's elite frontline forces, his Salamander's toxic mist field gave him the ability to retreat with his forces at any time, no problem.

And looking at the current situation, Konoha didn't have anyone capable of genuinely threatening him.

Hatake Sakumo? Not a chance.

Tsunade, Orochimaru, Jiraiya? Even less so.

As for Danzo?

Ha! Hanzo didn't even take him seriously. In his eyes, Danzo was nothing more than a sewer rat—crafty and underhanded, sure, but lacking any real strength. He wasn't even on par with Orochimaru or Tsunade in his mind.

"Hm, is that so?"

Kaito nodded in understanding, then muttered thoughtfully, "Actually, this could be good for us."

"I was wondering how we could counter Danzo, his allied clans, and Root shinobi while making it look like the enemy's fault to clear our names."

"After all, we can't exactly just announce, 'Hey, they tried to kill us first!'"

"That would only cause chaos within our forces."

"And that's not something we want during a war."

"But now, with Hanzo joining the mix, we don't have to worry about any of that!"

"When the time comes, we can just blame everything on Hanzo."

"In fact… we might not even need to shift the blame. We could just let Hanzo's own hands deal with them!"

At this point, Kaito turned to Tsunade with a sly smile and asked, "Isn't Hanzo known for using large-scale toxic mist attacks to poison his enemies?"

"Yeah," Tsunade confirmed with a nod. "Why? Does that help with your plan to kill Danzo and pin it on Hanzo?"

"Something like that." Kaito replied with a devious grin.

Hearing this, Tsunade and the others perked up, eager to hear more.

"Spill it!" they urged.

"Actually," Kaito said, smiling. "It's common knowledge that any great doctor or pharmacist also tends to be a skilled poison master."

"Medicine and poison are two sides of the same coin."

"Take you, for example, sensei. Your ability to cure high-level poisons means you could easily create ones yourself if you wanted to."

Tsunade raised an eyebrow but didn't deny it. While it wasn't her style, she knew it was true.

Kushina and the others didn't quite get it, but Tsunade, as a top-tier medic, immediately understood Kaito's intent.

Her eyes widened as she stared at him. "Wait… Are you planning to modify Hanzo's toxic mist with an even deadlier poison to kill Danzo, his men, and maybe even Hanzo himself?"

"Huh?" Kushina and the others froze, staring at Kaito in shock. "You can actually pull something like that off?"

"It's nearly impossible for most people," Tsunade admitted, her tone complicated. "The variables are just too many."

"But Kaito can do it."

"His medical skills surpassed mine three years ago. Since then, he's only improved at an insane rate. I can't even imagine how skilled he is now."

"If he's suggesting it, he's got the ability to back it up."

"Exactly," Kaito said confidently. "With my current skills, as long as I get a sample of Hanzo's poison, I can easily create a super toxin that blends into his mist, spreading silently and killing swiftly."

"When the time comes, Danzo, his allied clans, and Root shinobi won't even know what hit them."

"As for Hanzo's men, it'll depend on whether they're wearing protective masks."

"If they are, they might survive. If not…" Kaito shrugged. "Well, that's not my concern."

"But honestly, it's better if Hanzo's poison doesn't wipe out his own forces."

"If Rain ninja die too, it might blow our cover. No one would believe Hanzo would kill his own men."

"Better to leave Hanzo and the Rain ninja alive so we can deal with them head-on later. That way, we can both frame Hanzo for killing Danzo and claim the credit for defeating him and his forces."

"Perfect, right? We'll milk Hanzo for all he's worth. He should feel honored!"

(Poor Hanzo: you devil…)

"But what about our own people?" Tsunade asked. "Will you give them an antidote ahead of time? Won't that raise suspicion?"

"Not at all," Kaito replied. "Over the past two months, I've been distributing anti-poison pills. Anyone who takes one will be immune to all known top-tier poisons in the ninja world."

"Hanzo's poison, even with my modifications, will fall within that range of immunity."

"And besides, by the time this happens, Danzo will have already made his move. The gloves will be off."

"No need to hold back."

"We just need to finish the job and clean up afterward."

"As long as Hanzo and the Rain ninja are taken care of, we'll be golden."
