"So, a new batch is ready to graduate, huh", a gruff voice appeared out of nowhere, "Let's see if you are really ready or not".

"You have already been informed about what comes next. You have to battle with your fellow batchmates, ten in total, one at a time. It means everyone here has to fight ten battles. Depending on total wins and the way you lost your matches, you would be given marks for the exam".

"So, even if you lost all ten matches, it doesn't necessarily mean that you would fail but I advise you to fight to win or else you will fail this exam. Now get ready and move to that teleportation room over there", the man said.

Teleportation room?

It looks like the matches won't be held at the academy itself, but where would be they held?

Once the middle-aged man spoke, he didn't waste time and started to move towards the teleportation room and so did the students.

Though they didn't understand what was happening, they still followed or were afraid of being left behind and they would miss participating in the duels.

Once all the students arrived, the teleportation circle lit up.

Is this the capital city?

It feels like that but this is not the same teleportation hub in the city that I have been using for the past five years. Something feels different about this.

While I was contemplating about where we were, a voice came from the skies.

"Orthos, you are right on time as usual. So these are the ones that would be graduating from the Royal Academy?" the old man asked.

So the middle-aged man who brought us here is Orthos.

Orthos bowed to the old man who just appeared, "Yes sir. These are the ones that would be batch graduating this year", he said politely.

The old man nodded at looked at us and then I felt it. The old man scanned us, but others were oblivious to that. So I made sure that there were indications that told him that I felt that scanning.

Yeah, what I thought would happen, happened.

These old foggies like to know everything and keep everything under their control. We have just arrived through the teleportation and they already started scanning us.

There would be many more scans like this, and would only end at the end of the duels. As long as we are here, they will continue to scan us all.

There is nothing I can do about it. I was lucky and knew this would happen. So I was well prepared.

The old man and the middle-aged man named Orthos spoke for a while.

After a few minutes the old man left, and Orthos spoke to us again, "Listen up, the names of the students that you duel will be sent to your communicators. There would be also the details about where the duel would be held. So check them quickly and follow the instructions promptly".

Not long after he informed us, we got the details of our duels.

I checked the names of the students that I had to duel.

Since I am the top student of the top class, everyone that I would be fighting would be a piece of cake. There is no way that they can win a fight against me but there is no way would I underestimate them.

Five of the students are my own class but five are from other classes.

I knew almost everything there was about those five in my class but it has been a year since the last spar. They should have improved a lot and since this is the last year, they should have brought some tricks this time.

In these duels, except for the regenerative potions, everything is allowed.

They can use potions to improve their strength, magic etc... but as long as they are not something that is regenerating their status, they are allowed.

Of course, there are restrictions on their use.

Not all students who attend these academies are from rich households. They can't afford them. If rich students were allowed anything to use, then it would be unfair to the poor students but being rich is also a strength.

So restricting the students from using their parent's power is also not fair.

So, every student can use only a single potion before or during a duel. Enchanted Weapons are allowed but not enchanted armor. Special items like Earrings, and necklaces are allowed but only a single one.

Since I am already using a special necklace that can block others from seeing my true status, the only options available for me to choose from are weapons and potions to use.

I have no need to use potions to fight these weak links, but I prepared a few for the occasion. I even bought an enchanted staff along with cloth and leather armour for myself.

I can easily defeat them but they should have made the best use of the conditions available and should have brought the best weapons and powerful potions and also powerful earrings or necklaces that boost their power.

These are not academy exams, where only the academy watches them. The entire kingdom watches this. Sure not the entire kingdom but many of the powerful from the kingdom are here and news would be spread to others that are not here.

Coming from powerful noble houses, this is the best stage to show their prowess. So, unlike the last four years, there is no way that the students wouldn't have prepared well for these duels.

So, they should have the best weapons, and supporting items like necklaces or earrings and potions, which would give them a powerful boost in these exams. So I can't take them lightly.

Moreover, I need to consume something and show something external power to others or they might suspect that I have some secrets about my prowess.
