The Streamer From Another Dimension

Chapter 6

Chapter 6 – Rookie, Day 1, Secondhand Streamer (5)

—–CROW—–

Perhaps they were giving me blatant hints.

*Abandon blood.* Why would they say that when I wasn’t even absorbing blood in this route?

My instincts, honed from seven years of playing garbage games, told me that the hint itself was the answer.

Thinking carefully, I could figure it out. There was still one way I could use blood.

“The blood items used for weapon enhancement.”

In other words, I had to abandon blood by removing the weapon enhancements.  It was literally what it said.

“Oh, so *that’s* how it works?  I was right, wasn’t I?”

Now the tentacles weren’t mindlessly regenerating.

And when I cut off a tentacle, the color of the HP bar changed, and the words “Subjugation Rate” appeared.

– Brain activated.

– She was right.

–  Looking at it like this, Blood Emperor is a god game.

–  God game acknowledged, if it weren’t for the crazy patterns.

–  Something new is happening again.

Thanks to my familiarity with the patterns, fighting wasn’t difficult.  The patterns themselves were among the hardest, but since I’d been through them so many times, there was no problem as long as I didn’t make any mistakes.

“Alright, phase change.”

–  Ending, let’s go!

–  Good magic power management.

–  I would have wasted so much.

–  She used it so naturally after wasting it in the beginning, lol.

As Phase 2 began, butterflies made of blood rose from the pool of blood on the floor.

And instead of the original tentacles, new tentacles formed from the blood pool attacked me.

“Focus, focus.”

The butterflies were ordinary objects, but after a certain amount of time, they would transform into homing projectiles and attack.  I could only stop them with a magic parry.

I couldn’t parry the butterflies *and* the tentacles rushing towards me at the same time.

Parry the butterflies, dodge the tentacles. It sounded simple, but it was a tricky pattern.

Of course, if I had insane physical abilities, it might have been easy.  No, beyond easy, I might have been able to do something new. But I was average, so it was best to stick to the standard solution.

“Parry here, and dodge!”

– She died here before.

–  Fast learner.

–  Wow, unnie, you’re the best!

–  She’s really good for a newbie.  Especially for a one-shot clear attempt.

–  It’s become a one-shot clear attempt somehow.

“Ah, shit!”

I was supposed to dodge and attack, but I missed.

No matter how much I focused, mistakes were inevitable if my physical abilities and judgment couldn’t keep up.

“I can’t dwell on that mistake. Don’t worry about it and focus on the next pattern.”

As I progressed through the pattern, the butterflies started appearing in succession.

Were they all going to fly at me at once?

“What?”

It was a pattern I’d never seen before.  I had to improvise.

First, a magic barrier wouldn’t hold. I’d heard it was possible to make the barrier stronger, but it required practice, and it was too late now.

Alternatively, I could try shooting down all the butterflies at once with a parry.  But that was impossible with my current physical abilities.

“Then what should I do?”

I didn’t have time to keep thinking.

Instinctively, I parried the first projectile and immediately threw myself to the opposite side as soon as I saw the follow-up attack coming.

“Oh, crap.”

Since the butterflies were homing projectiles until they were shot down, they quickly changed direction and followed me.

And while I was parrying them, another projectile flew in. This time, I didn’t have time to dodge normally, so I used magic.

If I faltered even a little, I would die. I poured all my magic power into parrying and dodging frantically.

“Huff, huff…”

– Oh la la.

– That was freaking awesome.

–  So good, damn.

–  Sword Saint just swung his sword once and parried everything.

–  This is the intended strategy.

–  Sword Saint is the weird one.

–  Stop talking about Sword Saint.

–  You guys have no tact.

As the butterflies disappeared, the pool of blood on the floor began to bubble.

“There’s another pattern?”

–  The final boss has 3 phases.

–  Lol.

–  It would be so frustrating to die here.

–  She did well just now.

–  She’ll need to maintain a magic barrier.

“That was just a fluke. I can’t do that again!”

Of course, the boss wasn’t waiting for me.

A grotesque roar echoed, deafeningly loud, and smoke billowed from the bubbling pool of blood.

“Wow, that smoke looks definitely not safe to inhale.”

–  Beyond inhaling, touching it is instant death.

–  But it’s not a strong attack, so a barrier can block it.

– Advice mode ON.

–  Magic power is a bit low.

–  Just focus on the tentacles like in Phase 1.

–  Let’s go!

I created a barrier after reading the chat, but my magic power was definitely in the danger zone.  I’d used too much at the end of Phase 2.

“Don’t panic, don’t panic.”

This time, the barrier was the tricky part; the pattern itself wasn’t that difficult. I just had to deal with the Phase 1 tentacles that had reappeared.

Of course, fighting while maintaining the barrier wasn’t easy, but it was still easier than the butterfly barrage in Phase 2.

I held my breath and focused on cutting down the tentacles when I instinctively parried another tentacle that suddenly appeared from the side.

“Ha!”

–  You scared me.

–  Parrying instinctively now.

–  Where did our newbie go?

–  Blood Emperor corrupted her in a day.

–  How do you become a veteran in a day?

I was so focused on dealing damage that my magic power was almost depleted.  A glance showed that the Subjugation Rate was close to zero.

I was just short of the magic power needed for one final stab.  As soon as that thought crossed my mind, I emptied my mind, deactivated the barrier, and absorbed magic power.

If my attack landed before I died from the lack of a barrier, I would win.

“Hyaah!”

*Crackle!*

The moment I felt the spearhead make contact with the tentacle, I lost control of my body.  A cutscene.

–  Bartender!!!!!!

–  Congrats congrats congrats congrats.

–  Did you see the remaining magic power? Holy crap, lol.

– This streamer is good, lol.

–  I was so nervous she was going to fail.

–  I’m so excited for her, wow.

–  This is what a broadcasting genius looks like.

–  Gotta clip this fast.

[‘RealDeal’ donated 10,000 won!]

– I didn’t charge up for this, but I had to.

[‘SnowflakeMoonsnowflake’ donated 50,000 won!]

–  I’ll leave what I was going to give to SnowFlower here, lol.

“I can’t talk during a cutscene.”

I was thinking that was inconvenient when the protagonist character jumped at the boss and sliced through the blood clots.

As the protagonist ripped away all the blood clots, the boss returned to a completely human form.

“Who are you?”

The protagonist didn’t answer and stood up. Then, the mobs I’d fought so far came rushing towards him.

“I am…”

The protagonist looked quietly at those who followed him, then turned and smashed the door leading outside with his spear.

*Crash!*

The door shattered with a crumbling sound, and light streamed in.

“No, I have no name.”

“We are the nameless ones. Consumables to be used as ingredients for Solitude. That is who we are.”

“But are you truly okay with that?”

–  Oh la la, the directing.

–  They’re alive!

–  The second boss isn’t there?

–  I stayed up all night to see this.

–  Ah, ah…

–  Wow, this isn’t the Blood Emperor I know.

“I will refuse such a life.”

“I will live for myself, not to be consumed for someone else.”

“From now on, my name is Heavenly Demon.”

“What about you? Will you continue to live without a name?”

– ????

–  Heavenly… Demon?

– This is Heavenly Demon.

– Then is the Nameless Martial Art the Heavenly Demon Divine Art?

–  What’s Heavenly Demon, you weebs?

– Why is Heavenly Demon appearing here?

–  Wow, Heavenly Demon!

“Only those who can abandon the filthy blood of the Blood Cult, follow me.”

“I will now live for pulsating, living blood, not dead blood.”

“We are the Demonic Cult, who worship the living blood, Ma.”

[True Ending: Demonic Cult Established]

A message appeared, the surroundings darkened, and the ending credits began to roll.

“Wow, it’s finally over. Thank you, RealDeal-nim, for the 10,000 won donation. Thank you, SnowflakeMoonsnowflake-nim, for the 50,000 won donation. I ended up doing a one-shot clear attempt without meaning to.”

– True ending, damn.

–  Is this a setting where the Demonic Cult emerges from the Blood Cult?

– Is this the end?  It feels kind of anticlimactic.

– But the original ending is also an open ending.

– Anyway, congrats.

“Thank you all. Wow, how many hours did I play?”

– !uptime

–  No bot?

–  It’s been about 14 hours.

– ???? Crazy.

–  That much time has already passed?

–  We definitely started at night, and it’s lunchtime now.

“Ah, I haven’t added a bot yet. I’m still thinking about which one to add.  14 hours?  Wow, I’m crazy.”

–  Time to call it a day.

– Since the game is cleared.

–  She should probably rest.

–  It’s her first time using the Cube, and she played for 14 hours; she must be exhausted.

“You’re right. I was thinking of switching to just chatting mode, but… after 14 hours, I should probably end the broadcast here.”

– Bye bye bye bye.

–  Switch bye bye.

–  Rock rock.

–  I should probably go to sleep too.

–  Star bye.

–  Sleeping now?

–  I watched the whole broadcast, so I have to sleep now.

“I’ll try to broadcast tomorrow as well. Thank you to everyone who followed, chatted, and donated. Switch bye~”

[Live Broadcast OFF]

As I turned off the Cube, I regained consciousness with a dazed feeling.

A sticky, unpleasant sensation covered my entire body. It was the solution.

I pressed a button, and the solution drained away. Then, water at my body temperature came out, rinsing me off. I roughly dried myself with a towel and got out of the Cube.

“Ugh…”

I felt slightly dizzy and almost fell over.  During the broadcast, I was so focused on how well it was going that I hadn’t realized how exhausted I was.

“Hehehe…”

I was definitely crazy about broadcasting. Wait, I think I just said “definitely” twice.

“Ah, pull yourself together…”

I went to the bathroom and turned on the shower.  I needed to wash off this sticky solution.

The water from the shower washed over my head, and I felt a bit more awake.

[Broadcast has ended. Calculating earnings.]

[14 hours added for broadcasting.]

[327 hours (3,274 followers) added for follower rewards.]

“Wow, 3,274 followers? So, followers also give you Time. 1 hour per 10 followers?”

Then, to achieve World Alteration, I’d need about 10 million followers. That’s practically the top of the industry.

No, wait, if CubeOn followers were also counted, it might be possible.

As I was thinking that, another message appeared with a simple effect.

[Completed your first broadcast.  A reward will be given based on the analysis of the broadcast pattern.]

[Acquired Trait ‘Beginner’s Luck (A)’.]

Was this like a tutorial reward in a game, given for completing my first broadcast?

“Analyzed the pattern? Did they give me this because I discovered a hidden route during the broadcast?”

[Beginner’s Luck (A)

Greatly increases the chance of something special happening in the first game you play.

However, this may not always be positive.]

It was difficult to understand the exact meaning from the description alone—what “something special” meant, or what “increases the chance” implied.

But if it was given because of this broadcast, it was reasonable to assume that it increased the chance of having a similar experience when playing other games.

“So this is what a Trait is.”

I wasn’t sure how it worked. Still, the phrase “something special happening” sounded appealing.

“Something special happening in a game means it increases the entertainment value of the broadcast.”

Honestly, I didn’t need anything else; as long as the broadcast went well, I could be happy.
