Chapter 35: Chapter 34:[ Gato ll ]
Naruto and Hinata crouched in the shadows, their eyes locked onto the two guards patrolling the main gate.
Earlier, they had seen Gato leaving with four of his personal guards, making this the perfect opportunity to infiltrate his base.
As the guards turned away, Naruto and Hinata moved like wraiths, slipping through the darkness undetected.
One of the guards suddenly paused, frowning. "Huh? Did you hear something?"
The second guard scoffed. "What are you talking about? Quit daydreaming and focus."
Before either could react further, two kunai flashed through the air, slicing cleanly across their throats.
Their bodies crumpled silently as Naruto and Hinata pressed forward, eliminating any opposition in their path with ruthless efficiency.
By the time they reached the top floor, their clothes were stained with blood, but their expressions remained unreadable. They stood before a massive iron gate—the entrance to Gato's personal quarters.
Naruto cracked his knuckles. "Too bad for him this thing won't stop us."
With a single chakra-infused strike, the metal groaned before collapsing inward. Stepping inside, their eyes immediately locked onto a large safe in the corner.
Naruto smirked. "Let's see what our 'generous host' has been hoarding." He channeled wind chakra into his kunai and, with a precise slash, cleaved through the lock.
Inside, they found stacks of gold, precious gems, and documents—ownership deeds to various businesses, evidence of Gato's criminal empire.
Hinata quickly secured everything, her movements swift and methodical. "This should be enough to collapse his operations."
Naruto nodded. "Now, we wait."
Gato trudged toward his mansion, sneering as he muttered to himself, "These ninja think they're so untouchable. Good thing I planned to get rid of that so-called Demon after Tazuna's death."
However, as he reached the main gate, an eerie silence greeted him. A chill ran down his spine.
Something was wrong.
He raised a hand, signaling one of his guards to open the gate. As the heavy doors swung open, the sight before him made his breath catch in his throat.
Bodies littered the courtyard, each with precise, fatal wounds. Blood pooled beneath them, and in the center of the carnage stood two figures, their forms barely illuminated by the dim torches.
Their clothes were stained with blood, their gazes cold and unyielding.
Gato's breath hitched as he stumbled back, his heart pounding against his ribs. The sight before him was nothing short of a nightmare.
His once-loyal guards lay scattered across the compound, their bodies motionless, their lives snuffed out with ruthless efficiency. And standing at the center of it all were two bloodstained figures—Naruto and Hinata.
His remaining guards hesitated, their grip on their weapons tightening as they glanced between their fallen comrades and the two shinobi who had cut them down with terrifying ease.
One guard, either braver or more foolish than the rest, stepped forward, pointing his blade at Naruto. "You little brats think you can just kill your way through here? You're dead meat!"
Naruto didn't even flinch. His cold blue eyes locked onto the man, and before anyone could react, a blur of movement sent a kunai slicing through the air.
The guard barely had time to widen his eyes before the weapon lodged itself into his throat. He collapsed with a wet gurgle.
The remaining guards faltered, their fear overtaking them. One turned on his heel, attempting to flee.
Hinata moved like a ghost, her speed overwhelming. In a single, fluid motion, she appeared behind him, her fingers glowing with chakra. A precise strike to his lower back sent him crumpling to the ground, his body completely paralyzed.
The last two barely had time to scream before Naruto and Hinata ended them with swift, calculated strikes.
And then, silence.
Gato sat frozen in terror, his mind scrambling for an escape. His usual smug arrogance was gone, replaced by sheer, unfiltered fear. He tried to back away, but his legs refused to move properly. "L-Look, I can pay you!" he stammered, desperation creeping into his voice. "I can give you whatever you want! Just name your price!"
Naruto stepped forward, his kunai still dripping with blood. "You think this is about money?" His voice was quiet, almost emotionless.
Gato gulped. "P-Please! I—I can make you rich! More than you've ever dreamed!"
Hinata's lavender eyes bore into him, unwavering. "You've already taken too much from innocent people. No amount of money will save you."
Gato whimpered, realizing there would be no bargaining his way out of this. He tried to crawl backward, his hands slipping on the blood-stained ground.
Naruto sighed, raising his kunai, the wind chakra humming dangerously around the blade. "You should've known… when you play with people's lives, eventually, someone comes to collect."
With a final swift strike, it was over.
Naruto and Hinata stood over the lifeless body of Gato, neither speaking. The night air was still, the weight of their actions lingering between them. But neither hesitated—this was justice.
They swiftly gathered the stolen wealth from Gato's mansion, ensuring that the deeds and valuables would be returned to the people he had stolen from.
And then, without a word, they vanished into the night, leaving behind only a bloodstained memory of the empire they had just dismantled.
By morning, the people of the Land of Waves would awaken to a new dawn, free from the shadow of Gato's cruelty. And yet, they would never know the true identities of their silent saviors.
